  1. More money to educate prisoners? I wonder if it will make them a proficient as our school children.

    • They might, as long as they aren’t taught by teachers who are members of the NEA. That would give them a better education than our public school students get.

  2. I hope this includes trades education, as it is sorely needed as our skilled tradespeople retire.

  3. I am siding with the family of Scott Garvey, this was completely unjustified shooting. Scott was in a mental health crisis, and the police should have waiting until a mental health negotiator could have at least had a chance to de-escalate the situation. Thinking that Scott had a gun and knowing that he had a gun are two different situations. I think that if the police actually followed their own protocol, then Scott would be alive today. My sincere condolences go out to Scott’s mother and brother for their loss. The same thing happened in Burlington many years ago where the police responded to a mental health crisis and ended up shooting and killing the man who was in crisis. The problem is that a lot of these mental health crises that the police respond to haven’t got the negotiator right with them at the time. Maybe in the future when police respond to these kinds of calls that a mental health professional should respond with them. I don’t see how this shooting of Scott is considered justified. I am no expert but the video that was shown on Channel 3 news this week doesn’t proof that this was a justified shooting. They could have waited until someone experienced in mental health crisis could get to the scene and try and de-escalate the situation instead of shoot first, ask questions later.

  4. Who is actually embezzling this money because prisoners don’t have rights. That’s what prison is supposed to be. Why are we educating prisoners? Vermont is famous for wasting taxpayers money and this is just another way that they can hide an embezzle our money. Stop the woke. Stop the Democrats. Democrats are domestic terrorists. They have destroyed Vermont and every other part of the country. Criminals in jail are not supposed to have rights.
