Vermonters ‘should do everything they can’ to stop Trump, Scott says

“Hold him accountable for all the things that are not accurate,” Scott urges Vermonters

By Guy Page and Paul Bean

On Sunday, March 3 Gov. Phil Scott urged all Vermonters to vote for Nicki Haley in Tuesday’s presidential primary.

On Monday, Haley dropped out of the race. That decision left Donald Trump the presumptive nominee of the Republican nomination.

On Thursday, at a press conference, Vermont Public reporter Peter Hirschfeld asked Gov. Scott, “Now that Nikki Haley has dropped out of the race, where do you see that going?”

In other words – will Vermont’s most famous, popular, and prominent Republican rally the divided party faithful behind the GOP presidential nominee?

Scott’s answer was an emphatic ‘no.’

Among other statements, Scott said Vermonters “should do everything they can, in my opinion, to stop Donald Trump from becoming president again.”

See the VDC video of Gov. Scott’s comments.

  1. Isn’t that election interference by VT’s top elected official? Isn’t it up to the electorate to make their own voting decisions and not be told how to vote by anyone?

    • He absolutely should not do this at a scheduled press conference used to inform Vermont citizens of the critical issues of the week. It’s totally inappropriate to use this forum this way!

Phil Scott has the right to endorse any one he wants. He has no right to use a Vermont official state forum for this activity. It’s the equivalent of a Vermont state press release and is wrong.

    • No! I think it is protected free speech. There is legal prohibition against opposing someone nor asking others to do I so.

    • Hi Cathy,

That would be true if Phil Scott really believed in Constitutional Unalienable Rights, Individual Freedoms and a Free and Fair Election System without Corruption, but it is very clear he doesn’t.

Phil Scott calls himself a Republican, yet acts and shows allegiance to the Democrat and/or Progressive Agenda. He only supports his brand of a Republican which is really a RINO. You will never find him at regular Vermont State Republican Events, because he doesn’t agree with Republican Ideas and Principles.

Scott continuously speaks like he is a victim and all by himself with little support in the Vermont State Legislature. All the while he has created the swift downhill slide of having fewer and fewer Republicans and/or reasonable thinking citizens elected to Vermont’s Government.

It is very interesting that Scott is so vocal and attentive to vehemently expressing his Trump Hate. Why? Many believe he is actually helping Donald Trump much like ALL the crossover Dems and Progs who played games with their votes on March 5th to try and bury the truth about Trump’s real support numbers in Vermont.

Scott should spend some time taking a long hard look in the mirror. He has continued throughout his years as the elected Governor of Vermont violating and ignoring his responsibilities while also diminishing many of our basic Constitutional Freedoms.

Assess yourself Governor Scott. Be honest. Look carefully at the public Oath of Office you took under the pains and penalties of perjury. Of course you have no worries about rightly being prosecuted for perjury. You are a good ole boy doing what the elitist good ole boys do. Your name is not Donald Trump.

    • The election interferences is scott saying a couple of days ago, if Vermonters don’t blindly support the insane school spending, taking their right to vote for it is not “off the table”……

      https://vtdigger.org/2024/03/07/stripping-back-local-control-of-school-budgets-phil-scott-says-it-is-on-the-table/

these people are all puppets for the United Nations, pimping for the new world order just like poppy Bush….

get back in your cubicle, you’ll own nothing and vote for nothing and be happy. shilling for team uniparty….

    • endorsing a candidate is NOT saying prevent his election by all means possible… that IS inciting an insurrection, isnt it????MMMM? so we shouldnt vote for Scott as he is inciting an insurrection, huh>

  2. This is a distraction from his massive failures as the governor of our state. The staggering concerns facing Vermonters which include out of control crime. A failed education system, unaffordable tax increases, a never ending opioid epidemic, no housing, and homelessness are secondary to Phil Scott’s psychological fixation on Trump. As a Vermonter I will be doing everything I can to make sure Phil Scott never holds office again.

    • I’m pretty sure the governor is at the mercy of the democrats spending your money like there’s no tomorrow…… so maybe let’s get rid of them first …..

    • In total agreement Stu. Phil Scott is a travesty to the VT GOP. He has called our party names and refuses to stand behind Republican conservatives. Why doesn’t he just admit that he’s a Democrat!!! Sure, it’s hard with a largely all-Dem legislature but he could at least help his party out just a bit. We all have opinions but being so verbally anti-Trump and anti his party is wrong. BTW, Nikki Haley whom he supported, wanted to change retirement social security age to 75. Many who voted for her did not know that. It’s so important for voters to KNOW what candidates stand for and not just vote for someone who is ‘nice’. That’s why we’re in our current trouble economically and otherwise.

    • Paul Dame told me he (Scott) is the most popular Governor in the country! So just what has that done in a positive way for Vermonters, in any party or collectively? I want to know. Am I missing something? Based on the numbers of responses here, and the contents, I don’t guess I have missed much. Stu, I am serious, you should run for Governor. Have you thought about that?? I have,

    • I’m with you on this one Stu. Phil Scott needs to hit the road. He is a failure.

  3. Chairman phil wouldn’t have any other way. He is a bought and paid for Marxist Maggot!

    • Pandering Phil is as irrelevant to national politics as this progressive backwater of a state. He has been at best a minor speed bump on the road to ruin. Still he persists.

  4. Yeah, well, good thing Vermont’s influence is pretty minimal then. Scott’s too.

  5. i guess being a r. i. c. o. criminal with the house and senate pushing the covid kill shot, thanks to big pharma and your tel//// lie//// vision/// taking bribes with a large amount of ads /// nothing to see here folks ,just pay your 20 percent increase in your property taxes and shut up ///

  6. Dear Phil Scott,

Would you kindly release a press release explaining what in your opinion we are to stop Trump from doing, and why you feel the need to sway voters based upon your opinion, and lastly why you go out of your way to not support your party?

    Seriously Vermonters want to know!!!

I know 4+ years ago my life was vastly better, I was happier, money wasn’t an issue every day, and I wasn’t worried about having a roof over my head or being shot in the queen city late at night (which I now avoid like the plague, mostly to remove any money I may spend in the state from it’s communist influence).

  7. Thank you for reminding me why I am no long active in Vermont’s Republican party… I left when they couldn’t decide what a “baby” was or when it “became” a baby.

    • Hope you return to the GOP to make it better. Some of us are co.mitted to protecting life from conception to natural death and are staying in the game. Without the right to life, there are no unalienable rights – the State gives and takes away rights. We could use your help and support.

    • Ahhh excuse me SPelletier but that info is incorrect. Republicans candidates all KNOW what a baby is and what is growing in ladies wombs. You are speaking of the Dems who constantly make excuses to have abortions, the most recent being killing a full-term 9 month baby (NOT a fetus!).

    • Sorry Renee until the current VTGOP regime is out, I’m out of the VTGOP. The disgusting drivel most recently from Dame, falling over himself with drool over Haleys “victory” in little old Vermont, like THAT was some trophy. HAA! No thanks. The VTGOP has made it clear they don’t want us, don’t need us, OR our dollars, so I gladly donate elsewhere.

    • C Williams the current regime will not be voted out unless you are in attendance at the State reorganization meeting to vote for new leadership, which was nominated at the last reorganization meeting.

    • There is a conservative push happening in Vermont which in my opinion is being led by some from Windsor County. Don’t give up! Join up!

    • Dear SPelletier,

Please reconsider. ALL that is wrong with the Vermont Republican Party is why your voice and work are needed. If everyone who quit the Party in Vermont would get involved working and speaking for True Republican Principles, our Constitution and Freedom we would make a difference.

Remember, “We the People” have an important part and Duty as the citizens of our Constitutional Republic. If everyone quits and gives up, the oppressors and tyrants win for sure.

If/When I go down, it will be fighting and speaking out for what is Right and True for Individual Freedom and our Constitutional Republic! Our Founding Fathers gave their lives, fortunes and sacred honor. What will we give?

Fight the Good Fight! Never give up! Never …….. Never ………. Never!

“For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”

  8. Vermont is run by tyrants sellouts. Creed and power is all they care about. Vermont politicians don’t care about real Vermonters or Americans. Elected in can just as easily be elected out. Who will sign a petition to get rid of the corrupt politicians?

  9. Phil has become such an amusing rube. Some Vermont Republicans get their knickers in a twist when he is called a RINO, but what could be more RINO than stumping for the America-hating, divisive Joe Biden. Phil just stands with Bernie as a disgraceful embarrassment for the Green Mountain State: two peas in a pod. Thing is, it’s gratuitous — why does he do this other than to court his liberal base or because of his personal enmity against DT? He could defend our budgets without stumping for Kamala Harris!!

    • I guess you won’t be looking for another endorsement from the Governor next time you mount a pathetic campaign for office. If I remember correctly you got trounced in a conservative district by a 79 year old who couldn’t even campaign because of health issues. You’re the embarrassment.

    • Did Scott just ask Voters to cast votes that were not theirs to cast?

    • How many people do you think will continue to vote for him John?

I stopped the voting for Phil Scott after he made a spectacle of the gun owners in the state of vermont on the state house lawn when he signed to steal part of our gun rights in the state of vermont…

I’m sick of hearing vote for the lesser of two evils.

The lesser of two evils is as evil as any of the politicians that want to steal our constitutional rights.

We’re on the verge of losing America and people are still not awake.

  10. Dude doesn’t know much about President Trump. Well, at least outside of what he’s read from the lame stream media. He’s done nothing but good for New York City, and this country. President Trump donated his salary his entire term. Has that dude done that? Dude is supporting a candiddate that can’t even get the name correct of a young lady who is murdered by an illegal alien. Dude is supporting a candidate that alienates 50% of the nation with his rhetoric. Oh dude, the similararites.

  11. Who cares?

Vermont Republicans will have no impact on the Presidential Election. So why bother talking about Trump who is despised by most Vermont voters. Trump will only hurt local Republican candidates. You know this is true!

Stop the nonsense and focus on what you could possible effect.. local elections.

Your personal identity doesn’t have to be Trump-centric.

The party has been a mess for decades. Few real donors, which means few believers. Internal bickering, especially over a platform that majority of Vermont voters reject. Lack viable general election electable candidates. No infrastructure.
    Stop the martyrdom!

Trump winning a presidential election doesn’t mean the Vermont Republican still aren’t losers.

To regain relevance and impact, the Vermont Republican Party must:

    – Refocus its efforts on LOCAL issues and policies that resonate with the majority of Vermonters.
    – Understand that without aligning with the preferences of the state’s electorate, the party risks becoming entirely irrelevant.
    – Prioritize getting elected and earning the support of the majority over maintaining a rigid and unpopular stance.

The party must choose to either stand for something meaningful to the majority of Vermont’s voters or risk standing for nothing and losing its place in the state’s political landscape.

    Vermont Republican Losing TWATS Strategy
Trump – running on Trumps shrinking coattails is detrimental to a Vermont General Election candidate.

Wall – running migration and building a wall is detrimental to a Vermont General Election candidate.

Abortion – abortion is a settled issue in running on removing it more the State’s constitution is detrimental to a Vermont General Election candidate.

Transgender & BLM – are not key issues for most Vermont voters, move on

Stolen Election and Anti Gov Scott- Majority of Vermonters believe the stolen election narrative is false.

    • Tom,
So, you would rather have VT Republicans lie by omission (TWATS) so they might get elected? I don’t just want anybody with an “R” by their name (ie; Phil Scott) I want someone who is conservative.

    • Tom, you go ahead and vote for Biden….., and what poll did you take saying that Trump is depised by most Vermonters?? I liked to know where you get your info from? as for me and my wife and a number of fellow Vermonters will be voting for Trump! GO MAGA!!!!!!!

    • Tom you cut and paste this same thing over and over…..yet you don’t see anyone other than dems posting this same divisive dribble. Abortion is a Vermont issue, in that it’s way more, and the way you frame is a losing proposition, so why do you do it.

What Vermont law now states is there is no fetus or child, its a product of conception, so there for the state and any man are only liable for having the product of conception removed from the woman. No need for state supporting single mom’s nor for men, it’s all them, totally their choice.

Suddenly they might want a rewrite.

It also has much more devious intentions of giving the state control of minor children in all things sexual…

Other commentators are getting to the core issues, it’s not red vs. blue. Time to know what game is being played, there is much catching up for you.

    • Soundbites and snapshots. He’s campaigning for re-election, specifically towards democrats.

  12. “Everything they can”.

Everything? Does Governor Phil Scott mean the intelligence community’s ‘six ways from Sunday of getting back at you’ referenced by Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer, back in 2019? Is Scott an intelligence agency operative? I mean, ‘everything’? Really, Mr. Scott? Are you advocating Lawfare? Violence? Do you have any idea what you said? Would you use the VT National Guard to throw the 30,000 Vermonters who voted for Trump in last week’s primary in prison for domestic terrorism? Or would you like to take this opportunity to walk back your egotistic, ill-advised, extremist threat – before those you are targeting choose to exercise their constitutional right to defend themselves?

“Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster… for when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” ― Friedrich W. Nietzsche

    • Absolutely hilarious that you love Trump but NOW you don’t like hyperbole? Should I take everything Trump says literally? Did he mean it when he said he’d be a dictator day one? Man, I am old enough to remember when conservatives stood for things. Please respond and let me know where you guys moved the goalposts this time.

    • Well, Mr. Chris whoever-you-are, … let’s see about those ‘goal posts’ again.

Hyperbole? Sure, it’s hyperbole until it isn’t. Just ask Letitia James and Fani Willis about their campaign promises.

Trump didn’t say he’d “be a dictator day one”. He said, in response to a Hannity question… “He says, ‘You are not going to be a dictator, are you?’ I said, ‘No, no, no, other than Day 1.’ We are closing the border and we are drilling, drilling, drilling. After that I am not a dictator, OK?”

Who said I ‘love’ Trump? I didn’t. I didn’t vote for him in the primary either. But I do plan to vote for him in November… if he survives the ‘hyperbole’.

I can see why you’re no longer a teacher, whoever-you-are, if you really ever were one?

    • Are these recent reports mere hyperbole? Or is it what Governor Scott considers doing ‘everything they can’ to stop Trump from being president again?

      – House Republicans on Monday released a report that refuted Liz Cheney’s J6 ‘star witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony on Trump’s actions on January 6.

      – A report revealed that Liz Cheney ‘secretly orchestrated the Washington Post op-ed by all ten living former Defense Secretaries – including her father – warning against Trump’s efforts to politicize the military’ prior to January 6.

      – J6 Committee secretly deleted over 100 potentially critical pieces of evidence right before the GOP was set to take over the House of Representatives after their narrow 2022 win.

      – The Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) used federal investigators to ask banks to search and filter customer transactions by using terms like “MAGA” and “Trump,” and warned that purchases of “religious texts” could indicate “extremism.”

These are but some of the recent reports. And, again, it’s all hyperbole until it isn’t.

It’s time to hold Governor Scott accountable for what he said… and for what he may chose not to say.

  13. I don’t know what the RNC is waiting for now that Trump is in control of it. They should expel him and everyone like him from the Republican Party. What a disgrace it is having people like him, and Paul Dame call themselves Republicans when they don’t even support the Republican nominee for president or represent the people that they want to vote for them. They can’t even be honest to call themselves what they really are, COMMIECRATS. So what voters are they really trying to attract. I would rather have Zuckerman or Baruth be governor at least we won’t get stabbed in the back just shot in the front.

“If the words don’t add up, it’s usually because the truth wasn’t included in the equation”. – GEORGE ORWELL

    • Believe me James, many Republicans support President Trump but you can’t see or hear them because of all the “HELP” from our Gov. Scott. Phil Scott is a disgrace!

  14. Can someone explain to me why the Vermont Republican committee can not field an honest, ELECTABLE candidate?

A 100% increase in fuel oil and groceries, and Scott boasts of voting for the administration that give it to us! Now, a deep state so corrupt it leverages district judiciary to prevent a legitimate election.

Year after year Scott redundantly demonstrates a character unworthy of respect. He’s the first person I’d throw out of a lifeboat.

    • Clarification: my earlier post should have read: “There is no legal prohibition against endorsing someone.”

    • NEK Patriot. I will take a swing at that answer- having once thrown my hat in the ring. First, no one wants to listen to an “honest” candidate, because the truth often hurts. Second, what is left of Republicans in this state tend to operate on 1 issue: Abortion. Oh yes, and what church one attends. Is there any room in this state for Republicans who can’t (or won’t) quote the bible verse by verse? All this in a state that is declared “the least religious”. Until the Vermont Republican Party puts religion where it belongs – in the privacy of one’s home, they will remain as they are – irrelevant.

    • daughterofthegreenmountains I have never heard a Godly candidate quote bible verses and run on only abortion. That sounds like extreme hyperbole to me.

    • daughterofthegreenmountains I have never seen church affiliation on a Godly candidate’s website or mailed materials or announcing their church affiliation as a “selling point”. Everyone has their worldview they bring to the table. Your venom against a Godly worldview is evident.

    • daughterofthegreenmountains are you a truth- telling former candidate for office hiding behind a pseudonym? If you are running for office again, do you plan to advertise your hatred for the Godly worldview on your campaign materials and in the media? Do you know Article 22 was not about abortion? Article 22 is about funding everyone’s State given right to reproduce, change their gender no matter their age, etc and we will pay for it through insurance premiums when the fertility services bills pass we are alreadypayingforso called gender affirming care through our premiums. GOP leadership failed educating the public on this, and it is NOT exclusively a Vermont Right to Life Committee issue. Many “religious” folks assisted Vermonters for Good Government for getting the truth out on Article 22. Legislators failed to disseminate their intent under Article 22 to the voters. I also assisted in getting the truth out about Article 22 that it was NOT about abortion but all the other issues we see playing out now – from a 💯 believer in the right to life, and a beiever in Jesus Christ, you’re welcome.

    • NEK patriot,
Nothing in politics is accidental. Vermont “Republicans” are bought by the same nefarious money interests that already own the Democrats. The trick is to create the appearance of choice by focusing on some emotive wedge issue that makes no difference to the vast majority of voters.

So we argue endlessly about “what is a woman” or whatever the issue is. Meanwhile our rights are stripped from us, our taxes are shoveled into the non-profits established by the friends and family of the pols and our schools are turned into expensive indoctrination centers.

A decent, law abiding person who wants a small government to leave healthy families alone will not be allowed into this club. And it’s a big club. But neither you, nor I are in it.

    • NEK Patriot- If you feel that the Republicans cannot get an electable candidate, then please stop complaining and become one yourself. Most good R’s have either left Vermont or refuse to campaign because VT is SOoooo Democrat/Progressive! All our ‘R’ committees in VT are very small so YOU could become part of solving the problem. Many of us also think the votes are rigged however the more involved you and others become, the bigger a chance we have of finally winning. Beyond that, you’re correct that Phil Scott reflects a character unworthy of respect-we must vote for a governor who will uphold our values. The party in VT is split starting with Phil Scott & down.

  15. do i smell /// c. i. a. or mossad/// the total take over of a state/// no, those are fake news stories on the internet///

  16. Omg! He proves to all of us without a doubt he is a RINO!! He would rather vote for a demented crook than someone who has made a positive influence on this Nanny State!! Scott seemed like a reasonably smart person, i am rethinking that idea ! Life is hard enough to live in this State, and it doesn’t seem like it will get any better any time soon!!

  17. This doesn’t sound like and endorsement; it sounds more like a command. “Scott said Vermonters “should do everything they can, in my opinion, to stop Donald Trump from becoming president again.”

  18. This just goes to show how ” pathetic ” Phil Scott really is, Vermont’s so-called Republican Governor, nothing could be further from that statement, he’s scared S-less of the progressives and there nonsense…………………………………

He is just another black eye for Vermont’s political leaders, give him another scotch and send him packing, when will Vermont get a real Conservative to lead the state ??
Vermont’s GOP is a joke and Scott’s is the lead joker………………. what a shame, and I voted for this clown twice, never again even if he ran for ” Dog Catcher “

  19. i can appreciate thinking that neither Trump nor Biden is a good choice for president but supporting a warmonger like Nikki Haley is not even close to a good choice. RFK Jr is worth a long, hard look.

    • Exactly! This is the time to #DUMPtheDUOPOLY and get Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on the ballot here in Vermont. Both sides are corrupted to the core.

Are people forgetting that it was GOP Bush/Cheney that pulled of 9/11 ‘false flag’ event to get Halliburton into Iraq, the Patriot Act (taking away rights to privacy – not for our safety – but to control and spy on Americans) & getting USA into forever wars . We need to break the spell of this 2 Party system. #Kennedy24

    • “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is planning to tap Nicole Shanahan, a California-based attorney and entrepreneur once married to Google co-founder Sergey Brinn, as his running mate for his independent bid for the presidency, Mediaite has learned.”

As the saying goes… ‘don’t bring a knife to a gun fight’. There’s only one person with the moxie to take on the ‘deep state’ – which is why they’re throwing everything, including the kitchen sink, at him. Here’s another idiom to consider – ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’. Trump at least guaranties one aspect RFK Jr. can’t…. ‘term limits’. Like General Patton in WWII, he may not be the most likable guy. But Eisenhower realized Patton could get the job done. Today, Trump is the only person who has a chance at stopping the globalist tyranny. RFK Jr. should support Trump and keep his powder dry for 2028 – after the dust settles.

  20. Even if Trump wins, which I think is actually going to be allowed due to our nation’s complete descent into 3rd worldery… we cannot save this country. It will fall.

I’m just waiting for criminals from outside the US to take advantage of white women. And for the radicals to be encouraged by it also to join in the criminal behavior.

Cries from the Left will fall on deaf ears, is all that remains. Give it another 5 years for completion of this phase.

Eisenhower was able to fund the interstate highway system.
WTF exactly has Biden built with his “Build Back Better” slogan? And that, having followed some other ridiculous chant, “Hope and Change.” Hahahaha.

    • Biden is an empty suit promising the same b.s. as 2020. He claims crime is down which we all know is bull. Claims the border is fine as long as he can get all the illegals in and registered for November. Apologies for calling an illegal murder an illegal and keeps sending billions of taxpayer dollars to the corrupt Ukraine.

  21. Scott and a few of the other RINOs that infected the Vermont Republican Party is the reason real Vermont Republicans no longer show up at Republican gatherings. Scott is supposedly Vermont’s lead Republican, he should at least respect what the majority of Republicans want (not including the democRAT crossovers that corrupted the true tally).

    • And that is why RINOs are in control- because true Republicans are not showing up.

    • No so. I showed up for years and got frustrated. So did many others. Got tired of supporting RINOs while decent prospects were blacklisted or ignored.

  22. Phil Scott just does whatever Bernie and Welch tell him to. That includes leaving our northern border wide open. I pray Trump wins again. We need a major correction to keep our country from the similar path of Venezuela…a country not too long ago great and prosperous…now devastated… We must correct the horrid and unAmerican path liberals and RINOs strive for.

    • You know I never cared for Screaming Howie Dean, but at least he was man enough to put a D next to his name.

  23. Scott said Vermonters “should do everything they can, in my opinion, to stop Donald Trump from becoming president again.”
Because he did such a terrible job in his first term ? Let’s face it, under Biden inflation is at an all time high, driving the price of every day essentials to record levels. The border is open, gas might be down now to $3.30 a gallon, but was as high as $5.00 a gallon around here, after Trump had it as low as $1.99 a gallon, and the state of the criminal justice system is more criminal than just. Yup, Give me Trump, and his attitude any day. At least I was not worried about Xi Jinping, or that little round guy in North Korea starting something that no one will be around to finish. Vlad was happy in Russia, and the Ayatollah was so poor he could not afford to fund his proxies as he can now. Yup a vote for this geriatric imbecile is a vote for civility, (according to some) but what good is civility if you can not exercise your right to dissent ? That is what I am seeing now. Those who do not agree with the present administration’s goals are branded as deplorable, or even terrorists. Is this the kind of politics that Americans and/or Vermonters should expect, or accept ? I think we can do better, and under a Trump administration we did, and will again. JMO

    • I agree completely, Vermont is a mini California run by progressive garbage and it will never be Vermont again. Taxes are high and going up 17% plus Burlingtons 3 percent sales tax increase so after being born and lived here 54 yrs I’m done and leaving this lost state that I was once proud to call home.

    • Todd, That’s a shame anybody would feel that what Vermont has become should influence them to leave. Personally I have made up my mind to stay and be the biggest pain in the ___ I can so as to make it uncomfortable for them. My hope is that the rush of urban refugees that this state was subject to in the late 60s and 70s reverses it’s self, and I am around to wave good buy to them as they depart accross the Vt/Mass border fromwhich they invaded .

  24. Vermonters and people all across the country tried 4 years ago to dump Trump; a bump in the road called voter fraud reared and the dogooders have been trying every which way but loose to corral this man but so far have not succeeded. I will not get into my take on why that is the case. Phil Scott has better things to do than to tell any REPUBLICAN how to vote. This right out of the shute is an indicator of a solid RINO, similar to Mitt Romney. Rinos never accomplish anything only division in their own ranks. One writer earlier sited that with the Progs, you know what you are getting. So lets vote Zuckerman in, get the State insolvent quicker, and maybe the R’s can pick up the pieces. They shurly will not be ABLE to pick up the pieces and re constitute with the division there is now. R’s, get right with the party base and do it now….. It is now or never, and tell Phil Scott to go sit on a tack.

  25. I agree with the Governor but would take it one step further and say the nation should do everything it can to stop Trump. Signed ” Once a “Vermont” Republican

    • Mr. Milazzo: “…one step further…?? What are you and Governor Scott recommending?

How can the nation go ‘one step further? It’s already throwing everything, including the ‘kitchen sink’, at Trump. And at the same time, it’s running cover for proven Biden corruption.

Was Hunter’s laptop Russian disinformation – as candidate Biden claimed in his presidential debate?

Didn’t VP Joe Biden withhold funding from Ukraine until it fired the prosecutor looking into Burisma? You know Burisma don’t you? The company that paid millions to Hunter for… now what was it again that they paid Hunter for? Ten percent for ‘the big guy’?

And didn’t Biden take classified documentation out of a ‘sensitive compartmented information facility’ (a SCIF) as an unauthorized Senator and as VP? … and share it with unauthorized people in an Espionage Act violation?

Did Joe Biden meet with CEFC China Energy chairman, Ye Jianming? You know. The company that paid millions to Hunter and James Biden. I wonder why, now, the CEFC is threatening to sue Hunter Biden unless he repays CEFC?

      I mean, really, Mr. Milazzo.

Meanwhile, Trump is being forced to pay $450 Million for overstating the square footage of an 11,000 square foot condo in a real estate appraisal to get a loan. An appraisal that was recalculated and approved by the bank lenders – and repaid in full, with interest.

Meanwhile, a judge and jury find Trump guilty on rape charges with no evidence… none. Just hearsay by the victim.

Or perhaps by ‘one step further’ you mean…

      Well, …what *do* you mean?

  26. Plain & simple – Phil Scott is part of the swamp & doesn’t want all his corruption to be exposed!

  27. I wonder if Paul Dame will echo King Phil’s directive in his next VTGOP newsletter?

    • Dame needs to step up or leave. He’s the Ronna of Vermont. Time to step up against Scott, or go bye bye…

  28. It seems commenters are missing something- MAGA and The MAGA movement. Similar to The Tea Party of the 2000’s, MAGA represents an very large swath of America- and the values, morals and expectations they hold. MAGA doesn’t fly in socialist Vermont- it is the direct opposite of the views, values and agenda of the current batch of socialist/marxist legislators in Vermont. So too, phil scott never claimed anything other than being a very moderate, centrist republican. scott’s political views and his popularity resonate in Vermont and maybe the northeast, but he wouldn’t hold sway in fly-over country.
It is his prerogative (and risk) to expand the virtues of “anybody but Trump” however- he does so at his peril to a great many Vermont voters that do not share his views. If scott runs again, endorsing biden will cost him votes and popularity.
After the events of the last 1147 days, very very few can say they are better off now than before. Mostly corrupt politicians and their cronies.

    • There are 2 kinds of socialism: that of the elites and that of the people. Vermont’s socialism is almost completely the former, thinking it knows what’s best for the people. Trump/MAGA is the opposite: if not socialist in outlook, it most certainly is populist, and that’s why the elites despise it. The people themselves are saying what is best for them. It’s democracy actually working.

And I would say that Scott’s calls to “stop Trump” are precisely to keep Dems voting for him (Scott), not at all a risk, for the very reasons you state.

    • There is only one definition or type of socialism. Socialism is but a beginning to the downhill slide to communism, with totalitarianism and fascism as partners on that trip to anarchy. Vermont is in it’s 4th decade of the fall to anarchy. Never in the history of man has a republic worked as well for as long as the United States of America. MAGA is the polar opposite to socialism- it is the return to the founding principles of America. Trump is the rallying point for a majority of Americans that seek those principles. Your socialist elites, the apparatchiks and nomenklatura all seek to destroy MAGA and it’s spokesman, Trump to enable their dark and tyrannical vision for America. Whether phil scott is a willing accomplice to these elitists or merely a convenient tool for them remains to be seen- but his stay on the 5th floor, coupled with the current political majority is sending this state into tyranny, just a bit faster than California. Should scott receive his wish, every citizen will suffer from his desire for “anybody but Trump”. Have phil scott tell me again how things are so much better than in January/February of 2020. Then tell me again how events since then are not machinations of corrupt, power-seeking elitists.

    • In “fly over” country he would just get some jeans, a belt buckle a gas powered f150 and play his part. Phil, much like biden, is and always has been a political chameleon.

  29. Doesn’t matter either way Vermont always goes democrat and it’s 2 electoral votes are useless

  30. The Guv has a right to endorse or not endorse, but it ends there. He should be more focused on Vermont, but at this point he is impotent as Gov, having virtually no influence with the Marxists in control elected by the useful idiots (or the VT electorate). The two most notable things he has done (and will be remembered for, in my mind) opening the doors for insatiable gun regulation and “two weeks to flatten the curve” which was directly attributable to my mother’s death and many other loved ones separated from their families…for FAR MORE than two weeks! Not a very impressive legacy to say the least.

  31. He’s very frightened of something, probably with good reason. I hope people will watch Governor Abbott’s recent public comments linking the Texas Panhandle ‘wildfires’ to Direct Energy Weapons. Someone may have warned Phil: “Stay in line, or your maple trees get the green lasers.”

    • thank you for mentioning this (DEW attacks on homeland soil should be taken very seriously & should get way more coverage – NOTHING on MSM … crickets . The 1% seem to have all politicians by the … you know what.

Are they being blackmailed? bribed? threatened? Something bad is going on behind the scenes. NOTHING would surprise me at this point. Whether a Trump fan, or Bernie fan? Election Fraud is very real . EVM’s make it incredibly easy to do – (vote fractions can be changed remotely) & with a corrupt exit poll company giving fudged exit polls – there are no safety checks.

Why did Bernie crumble after the DNC stole the POTUS from him twice? Not a peep of him fighting back – no demand to do “recounts” NOTHING. (Independent exit polls by TDMS Research proved Bernie won against Biden in every state: Edison Research is not to be trusted ~ they hide election fraud); they’re corporate owned and rig the Exit Polls to match the rigged EVM’s. Just like the EVM “Dominion” voting machines (their way of telling us who has dominion over who is elected POTUS … they’re mocking us at this point) …

They DEW’d Lahaina ~ stole land from the indigenous of Maui (it’s unaffordable to even rebuild due to increase insurance rates; the 1% knew this ~ all part of the land grab) … Evil forces are taking over. It doesn’t matter which party gets into office; they both serve the Central Bankers who are colluding w/ NGO’s WEF WHO to steal all our freedoms.

Our best bet: #DUMPtheDUOPOLY #KENNEDY24 & hire TDMS Research to do exit polls (fire Edison Research) & demand recounts when they lie and tell us Kennedy lost… I believe he can win. People are waking up.

  32. With the exception of Mr. Twat himself, and a few others, Mr. Arnold professes that any Real Conservative Vermonter should throw his/her ideals in the dumpster fire that is the VTGOP and their Hero Scott.
I have outlined the illegal and unconstitutional ways Scott has stolen money from taxpayers to give to illegal aliens over VT Children at risk from domestic abuse and Vermonters who were benefitting from the Tobacco Settlement funds.
    ( $5 million in total )
Scott paid blackmail money to school districts with high jab rates while illegally withholding money from school districts where the Parents chose to protect their children.
Scott supports the domestic terrorists and marxism over Conservative values.
Scott has given millions of Vermonters tax dollars to planned parenthood while never having given to any of the Pro Pregnancy Centers, which actually provide Women’s Health Care.
Scott’s ” bad dream ” caused him to participate in the writing of illegal and unconstitutional Gun Laws.
There is a great deal of more proof in the ways Scott has betrayed Republican and Conservative Vermonters.
His gushing endorsement for Biden and H89 ( which he signed into law ) prove his hate for Vermont Babies in the womb and Vermont children of every age.
Remember, he can’t define the word Woman, which put every female in VT schools, locker and bathroom, workplace and business at risk.

Scott has some defenders in VT, and just like the VTGOP and it’s current leadership they stand for nothing.
I am hopeful that people like Reneemmcg and others making serious efforts to route out those pretending to be representing Conservative Vermonters will be successful.
The people in Windsor County are making a serious attempt to change the actions of the VTGOP and form a real Republican County. They have signed up more than a few Towns to stand with them.

It will fall on deaf ears because Scott has no need to listen to Vermont Conservatives because of his allegiance to the marxists, but once again I and others are calling on Scott to pull a Jeffords and make it official.
He can’t define the word Woman, and he clearly has no idea of what it means to be a Man.

  33. No surprise there. Scott is the most Janus-faced governor in my lifetime. To think the Vermont GOP continues to support him is insane. My instincts were spot on with him. Vermonts future is very dim.

  34. I wonder…does “doing everything to stop Donald Trump” mean Vermont will question the schoolchildren and check to see if their parents are voting for Trump…like Scott did with lockdowns ?

  35. Someone should look into the counting of the ballots from last Tuesdays primary. Around 10 PM the count changed drastically according to what I saw. At one point after 10pm Trump had 46.6 % of the count. A short time later he lost the .6 % What happened to those .6 votes? At that time Haley gained a whole bunch of votes too. If one count is wrong why isn’t there other times when it was wrong also. Was this a trial run for Nov.? What went on in the secret meeting that Scot had with the CCP? Are any of our government in Vt on the flight lists to that evil island? I know some are. Has anyone seen the signed oath of office by all of the government officials? I want to see Scott debate the other people running for governor. We need to hear from all that want the position so we can make an educated decision as to the plans for our state should they win.

    • Election Fraud is the biggest problem this country has – on a local & national level. We need Independent Exit Polls for the General Election for POTUS in 2024 … AND, if exit polls are off >2% … we have the right to do a recount.

I am a believer in that Trump likely won 2020 & again here in Vermont against Haley. And, I’m a democrat – correction: I was a Democrat until the DNC stole the primary from Bernie TWICE! and no recounts ?? Democracy is dead without independent Exit Polls (done by people funded exit polls – Not corporate run Edison Research) … recounts when exit polls are off.

Edison Research (hired to do Exit Polls) is corporate owned – and they report rigged exit polls to match the rigged EVM’s … We need a trustworthy company – e.g., TDMS Research does Exit Polls & will not lie to match the rigged EVM’s .

  36. There you have it, even now that Nikki has dropped out and Trump will be the GOP choice to run in November, Scott says he will not support Trump.
Perhaps, a better question to Scott is how can you remain a Republican if you can’t support the people’s choice for the GOP in 49 states (Most likely) ? Point to remember is Nikki only had 49% of the votes meaning she only received 9 votes out of 17. 45% of Vermont voted for Trump. 45% of Vermont totally disagrees with your position Mr. Scott. Perhaps a move to be Democratic like most people all know you are deep down, should be your next political move.

  37. One more reason not to support Phil. He needs to just change the letter after his name to a “D”. He never supported me for congress, said Welch is a nice guy.

  38. We are asked to always support all Republicans. I try to do that bcz they’re a Republican 50.1% of the time, so I vote for them. I don’t like the Governor’s comments here or what he said in response to a media question after the “Override Session” ladt Summer and the Democratic Leadership reversed his vetoes; the media ask, “do you want more Republicans in office.” He replied; “no, just common-sense people.” WOW!

And now this. Interrering in our Primary election encouraging all Vermonters to take a Republican Primary ballot and vote for Haley and defeat Trump. WTH Phil!

President Trump has the best policies and you all know it, so, I don’t need to reiterate it to you here. Is he not perfect, President Trump is direct, but he gets the job done with Conservative principles for We The People!

He is our nominee, I will support him 100%! My plea to all Republicans, “We The People” we need to win the Presidency and both Chambers in Congress, and major changes here in Montpelier. Everyone here needs to,, must get involved and talk to their children, family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and people you come in connect with about the truth with facts!

We ALL need to have the hard conversations with our people (that I cited above) to save our great State and Nation! Thank you,

    • Vermont Republicans will have no impact on the Presidential Election. So why bother talking about Trump who is despised by an overwhelming percentage of Vermont voters (2020 VT election results Trump 30.38%, 2016 Trump 30.3%). Trump will only hurt local Republican candidates (Malloy 2022 27.56%). Stop the nonsense and focus on what you could possible effect.. local elections.

In case you don’t know the VT House make up:
      Democrat,103
      Democrat/Progressive,2
      Independent,3
      Libertarian,1
      Progressive/Democrat,5
**Republican,37
      **Republican/Democrat,1

      VT Senate make up:
      Democrat,19
      Democrat/Progressive,3
      Progressive/Democrat,1
      **Republican,7

The party has been a mess for decades. Few real donors, which means few believers. Internal bickering, especially over a platform that majority of Vermont voters reject. Lack viable general election electable candidates. No infrastructure.

      Stop the martyrdom!

    • I think they have a deal with the Dems. Vote for Scott and they will be sure to primary out any up and coming Lt. Governor candidates. They did it to you and the young woman before that. They make sure a loser runs, who cannot win.

  39. black mail is a dirty business/// bribery is a dirty business/// is govie a dirty business operative///

  40. Time to investigate who is paying Scott to engage in election interference.

  41. Phony Rino Phil Scott! Don’t you think it’s time to get your head out of your ass Phil!
    😎

  42. Appears anyone who utters the words “stop Trump,” ends up making headlines for being indicted, resigning, or disappears all together. Did Phil click his heels 3 times when he said “stop Trump?” Nice knowing you Governor Empty Suit (not really), your fear is likely justified – remember “we got them all” and the Executive Orders were renewed oddly enough….I smell RICO in the Spring time air. Good times!

  43. I find it very funny that most people with TDS have no clue he was a card carrying D his entire life up until he ran for public office, then became an R in the run for 2016 president.
He contributed vast sums of money to the D party, and even way back then he was also funding the other side but to a lesser extent…after all it is NYC, so need to both sides of the same slice of toast…
    Let that sink in…

I myself have given up on the VTGOP, too myopic of a vision, needs fresh candidates, and ones that can actually be elected, not a bunch of card carrying extremist like the other side seems to produce on a regular basis that somehow get elected.
I’ve actually been pissed at the VTGOP, and stop sending $/support long ago, back when they bailed out on Martha!

  44. Pathetic you are. Blood is on your hands too. You won’t get my vote this year. You voted for Biden! When you did so,you voted for open boarders, trafficking children, raping of women and children. You are responsible for the over doses in Vermont as well. You are A Devil in sheep’s clothing! Not all Vermonters are blue! Red is making a come back! Here to stay to watch the transformation!
