Vermont State Police officers were racking up overtime last week and this weekend in response to the announcement of a gathering of pedophiles at a Vermont campground.
Although the announcement didn’t specify location, locals in Plainfield believed it would take place at the Onion River Campground, not far from the K-12 Twinfield school. Without confirming that ORC was the pedophile (a/k/a Minor Attracted Persons or MAP) camp location, state police sent officers to the school beginning Thursday. The owner of ORC denied the camp would take place at her facility.
Many people were wondering last week: was this just a hoax? Media coverage was scanty and police were not confirming whether the event had even been planned.
It’s not a hoax. The MAP camp was a real, planned, event, according to a pedophile support group that suggests it was cancelled due to threatened vigilante violence against “society’s most oppressed minority group.”
The group also claims organizers were in discussions with police.
At 2:03 PM Friday, the VDC received an email from Percy Shelley, the communications officer of MAP Union. Percy – likely a pseudonym based on the 19th century English author of Mathilda, a novel about incest between a father and daughter – confirmed the event was planned.
Excerpts appear below in italics. Mu, besides being an acronym for the organization, is also the Greek alphabet letter for M.
Hello, my name is Percy. I’m the Communications Officer of Mu (MAPUnion). Mu is an international organization representing the interests of minor-attracted people and their allies. I’m sure you’ve heard of MAPs or “minor-attracted people” before. However, you may not be aware of what Mu, as an organization, represents. You can find out more on our FAQ page – https://www.map-union.org/about/faq but if you have any questions I’d also be delighted to answer them.
I’m writing this time with a press release from Mu regarding the MAP Camp that was planned for this weekend in Vermont that you have already written about. I understand that with the pressure of deadlines it can be difficult to delve into all angles on an issue, but I thought that you may be interested in hearing a voice from the MAP community since the camp organizers have not responded to press enquiries.
MU is outraged – but not at the campers. They’re mad at online threats of violence.
“We want to strongly condemn the calls to violence from cyberbullies and some sections of the public while applauding the mature stance taken by local law enforcement. We think more people need to think calmly through these issues while respecting basic human rights as we explain in the press release below.
Several of hundreds of online comments – including some on VDC platforms – did include suggestions about rope, ammo, and wood chippers.
We also understand if our ideas don’t quite match up with what you are looking to publish at this stage, but we’d be delighted to keep in contact so that we can provide a minor-attracted person’s perspective in relevant articles you may publish in the future. We hope to provide a more balanced approach to MAP advocacy than groups like NAMBLA have been able to in the past.
Mu is an international umbrella organization seeking to represent the MAP community. While it supported the MAP Camp event being held, it has no ties with MAP Camp itself, nor with the organizers of the event.
MU then confirms that this camp has been in the works since July, and that police have been involved.
MAP Camp was a planned social gathering for minor-attracted people (MAPs) that was scheduled to be held this weekend at a campground in Vermont. It was first organized in July of this year by civil rights group MEDAL (MAP Equality, Dignity, and Liberation) but soon after became independently run. Preparation for the camp seemed to be going smoothly until bullies on X (formerly Twitter) caught wind of the event and decided to launch an attack against it, doxxing some of the people involved in the camp in the process and jeapordizing their safety. Many of the comments on X involved death threats and incitements to violence; comments that would be deemed hate speech if directed at any other minority group.
Local law enforcement authorities were also contacted, but after looking into the event they concluded that no illegal activities were planned and that the MAPs involved were free to exercise their right to free speech and association.
At a 3-hour long Marshfield Selectboard meeting on Tuesday, Lt. Thomas Howard, Vermont State Police’s Berlin Barracks commander, responded that “people having certain thoughts does not necessarily mean that they’ve committed a crime.”
Shelley then described pedophiles as ‘society’s most oppressed minority group.’
Mu applauds this stance in standing up for society’s most oppressed minority group. While it is appropriate for law enforcement to investigate crimes when they occur, no-one should face legal sanctions for speaking freely about a sexual orientation they did not choose, nor for meeting up with others who have the same orientation.
In the Mu statement, engaging with minors, and the proximility with the school, are not explicitly denied as a feature of the planning process: only that there was “no mention whatsoever” and “none of the promotional material for the event show any awareness of the fact.” It does not mention that the website says one of the downsides of the hiking activity is “no sexy children to look at.”
Planned activities for the camp included hiking, bingo, dancing and a campfire, with no mention whatsoever of engaging in any way with minors. In fact, the event was explicitly restricted to over 18s.
Some of the outrage mob on social media have pointed out that the camp ground rumored to be hosting the event is located near a school, yet none of the promotional material for the event show any awareness of the fact.
It seems that cyberbullies with overactive imaginations think that MAPs are nothing but predatory, but mindless zombies. They seem to think that a MAP’s desire for children is so strong that, against all logic, they would be willing to illegally enter a school that is in session to try and commit felonies that would rightfully land them in prison for decades.
Clearly such an idea is ridiculous on its face. Far more likely is that the MAPs involved in the camp would stay far away from the school for fear of unfounded accusations.
Shelley suggests the event may have been cancelled out of concern about ‘violent vigilantes.’
It is unclear whether the event was cancelled or not due to safety concerns regarding the risk of being attacked by violent vigilantes. Although the VSP have pledged to work out “how best to manage any security-related and safety-related concerns for those involved and everyone in the vicinity” MAPs, even if they have never broken the law, are rightfully skittish about interacting with law enforcement.
Many MAPs have a legitimate fear of engaging with law enforcement, even in a progressive state like Vermont. They are all too aware of the unwarranted arrests, sting operations and other injustices that other oppressed minority groups have historically faced and are wary of even law enforcement responses that claim to be supportive of First Amendment rights.
Shelley said critics of the camp “have been watching a little too much Law and Order: SVU.”
This wasn’t some sex offender crime ring where young children were to be bought and sold at auction. If such a thing even exists, none of the MAPs I’ve met know anything about it. The camp was merely a group of adults with a particular sexuality who hoped to meet other adults with the same sexuality in a relaxed environment providing support and fellowship.
Shelley also suggested camp planners may try again.
The VSP seem to be the only adults in the room that have been able to look at the event rationally, assess whether it seemed to be a risk to the community or not, and their rightful conclusion is that rather than MAPs being a risk by holding this event, they are actually AT RISK of being attacked by violent vigilantes imagining monsters under the bed. Whether or not the event is able to be held this year, we express our gratitude to the VSP and hope that they will extend the same offer of legal protection from violence to MAP events that may be held in Vermont in the future.”

In case you’re wondering what a casual MAP meetup is normally like, it’s usually a bunch of guys drinking beer and talking about whatever. Unfortunately, I’m more of a whiskey guy!
This is one of the most patently stupid, deceitful, and evil things I’ve ever heard of.
Deceitful and evil on the part of those who claim normalcy and that no bad will come of their meetings. And stupid on the part of those who believe that this is innocuous.
Can you imagine the result if a bunch of Jim Crow era folks who hated Black people just got together for a few beers to connect over their common hatred?
How about the result of some folks who hate Jewish people sitting around the fire for the purpose of meeting like-minded folks and sharing s’mores?
Or some married folks who are other-attracted—to others’ spouses—convening at a bar for wine and cheese ?
This perverted pedophilic attraction has not and never will be normal or right, no matter how much you try to legitimize it. Apart from the fear of God and deep, humble repentance, fundamentally perverted and aberrant thinking and actions never get better, but degenerate into abject slavery of the individual, and violation of the victims of this demonic trajectory, regardless of how much window dressing and spin are applied.

You’ve got it backwards. MAP Camp is more like a bunch of Black people got together in the Jim Crow era for a few beers to connect over their common discrimination. MAPs are not the ones filled with hatred- they are the ones being hated! How can you not see that?
MAPs are not sex offenders. MAPs have an unchosen sexual desire that many people think is disgusting, but there is no desire to harm children. That’s why the majority of MAPs don’t engage sexually with children- they know there is a risk of harm. MAPs deplore people hurting children whether it’s sexual abuse or other kinds of abuse. And remember that the majority of sexual abuse is committed by situational offenders (people who have no interest in children). 60% of sexual abuse against 0-11 year olds in the US is committed by FAMILY. Instead of worrying about unrelated MAPs you should worry about your father, brother or uncle.
You talk about hatred? Just have a look at the Twitter reaction to MAP Camp. You have people saying MAPs (even if they have never have and never would touched a child) should be put through a wood chipper, thrown in the ocean, have a bomb dropped on them, or sent off to a concentration camp. 1 in 3 MAPs has actively planned their own suicide. People who tell their family are disowned. I know people that have lost jobs and housing because they are MAP. Even though they never have and never would touch a child.
That’s why we need community. MAP events aren’t about sharing tips to abduct children or anything ridiculous like that. They are about supporting each other to say “you’re not alone, you didn’t choose these feelings, but you’ll be okay”. I understand the an event taking place near a school is going to worry the community because they don’t understand MAPs yet. But this even was literally just about supporting each other in the face of the absolute “all pedophiles should be murdered brutally” hatred we see… But apparently we’re not even allowed to do that.

We don’t hate anyone, but we are certainly hated. Simply being attracted to minors, without violating any laws, is no more of a choice than being of a certain race. If you want to argue that our thoughts are inherently evil, I ask if you would react the same way to a peer support group for paranoid schizophrenics who had no alternative to peer support? I doubt it.
For what it’s worth, conversation at MAP meetings is normally about all kinds of topics, not just MAP issues. You would not be able to distinguish us from any other group of men in a sports bar. Many MAPs would like to have non-MAP friends, and talk to psychologists, but this is simply too dangerous. If you think MAPs relying only on peers for support is a problem, you should support destigmatization and be a little kinder to those who are attracted to minors but do not commit sex crimes.

This clown can’t get basic facts right this mindless defense of perversion — are necrophiliacs and bestiality the next weekend getaways? — just to talk about it, for those who can’t help sexually obsessing about corpses and mammals because they were “born that way”? The fear that children might wander into a nearby wooded event for predators is dismissed here by painting the clan of kid-droolers as victims cowering in fear. But they write this: there was “no mention whatsoever of engaging in any way with minors.” Perhaps they missed the materials on the MAP Camp website that were particularly offensive: “common risks with hiking and other outdoor activities” include “tripping because you were distracted by a sexy minor instead of watching where you were going, … no sexy children around to look at (a common problem when hiking).” It’s not really so funny for the community.
I agree that the joke about sexy children was in poor humor. The website wasn’t intended for a public audience, so there was no explanation of minor-attraction to help people understand.
When I first read the site I thought that line was a bit cringe. But it seemed fairly obvious to me that there would be no minors at the event. Given how public everything became, it seems the proximity to the school was an oversight, though.
MAPs are safe for children to be around. Just like straight men are safe for women to be around. But people don’t understand that yet, so I understand the community response.
There are followers of the Marquess de Sade who identify as those “attracted to beating the shh… out of pedo’s”. They are an unorganized group who believe they are frustrated by little things like laws. They identify as KAP’s.
I propose that all MAP gatherings be paired with a KAP gathering. That way all sexual identities can be safely celebrated.
Do you see what I did there? Turns out you can claim any behavior as valid as long as you can put an identity label on it.
We are not talking about behavior- just feelings. Child sex abuse is illegal. Harming children is wrong. Most straight men don’t rape women. Most gay men don’t rape other men. Most MAPs don’t rape children. It takes someone with a skewed moral compass to justify rape.
So if have feelings to engage in violence but you never act on those feelings. Sure. Have your meet up. But the second you break the law you will go to jail for a long time. It’s no different to MAPs.
Cool, let them have meetings together. What could go wrong? Surely your MAP group would benefit from constructive conversations with KAP inclined individuals? As an extra bonus, you could develop your PR vocabulary to make your filth “respectable” together.
You forget, sir that many many older men and women have encountered your kind. They had to fight them off as young adults in the early 70’s when “anything goes” was the new fashion. Then they had to watch the cover-ups, the “ooooh we never knew” nonsense when these poor “victims of societal discrimination” were finally exposed as the predators that they are.
You are a tiny minority but your group does enormous damage to children, to societal trust and to families.

Instead, your intent was to gather, endorse, and celebrate your feelings. What is your opinion on legal age of consent? Would you have it lowered so that it would be legal for you to act on your feelings?
I suggest that they have such an event on a deserted island, as one suggestion. Has anyone seen the interview with a man in San Fransico that is part of a large group that were abused by pedophiles many years ago?

All of “Percy’s” monologue ignores the elephant in the room: that for anyone to act upon their “orientation” is a felony crime, PERIOD. So any gathering other than straight up mental health therapy is simple playing with fire and hoping not to get burned! No further comment!
“Most oppressed minority group”? I suggest that the victims of the members of that segment of society have been oppressed to a greater extent than their abusers.
Many MAPs do engage with the mental health community. But there is no cure- it’s a sexual orientation. Most MAPs realize their feelings when they are in their teens, just the same as gay or lesbian people. And just like gay or lesbian people it causes a lot of self-hate and suicidality. Except unlike LGBT people there is almost no social support, and as you say, acting on minor-attraction is extremely illegal.
But one problem is that even many therapists don’t understand MAPs. I know multiple MAPs who have been reported to the police for saying “I’m attracted to kids” even though they never have and never would touch a child. There are some therapists experienced with sex offenders, but that’s not the same as therapists for MAPs who have never offended. Thanks to the hard work of B4U-ACT we are seeing more therapists learn how to appropriately handle non-offending MAPs. But it’s still early days.
But you can’t spend your entirely life in a therapy session. So that’s where community comes in. There have been academic studies that show community actually reduces the rate of offending. When people feel lonely and isolated they are most likely to commit crimes.
MAP Meetups serve a protective function. By having social interaction with other people without having to hide in the shadows you feel more “normal” which can help to live a more “normal” life free of suicidality, free of depression AND free of offending.
Remember the movie Minority Report? It is said that artificial intelligence and advances in technology can actually scrub thoughts from a person’s mind – notice an ad for a particular item may pop up on your phone you just spoke of or were thinking about? Predictive programming….it’s baked in the cake, Iphone, laptop, smart TV, tablets, appliances, meters, etc.
Keep talking and posting Percy, Langley is listening and tracking as well. It’s not the people who will make your “thoughts” useful, maleable, or criminal. Big brother has you logged, scored, and categorized. They have a use for you whether you realize it or not.

Sadly, Langley likely has a big hand in encouraging/ creating these freaks. Anyone who believes that Epstein, England’s Jimmy Saville or Belgium’s Dutroux were lone wolves is extremely naive.
I don’t feel sorry in saying that I don’t believe that these people are oppressed. They are sexual predators of children. I do t feel sorry for them, nor do I feel they have rights. If instead, it were a bunch of rapists gathering with others who rape, would that be any different? This is sickening. Gatherings of sexual predators is depraved and should not be tolerated. And yes, if you prey on my children, violence may well be the response.
This was not a meet up of registered sex offenders. The MAPs involved with this event were not predators. They have not and would not touch children. They just have an unchosen sexual attraction that they are trying their best to work through.
So it’s very different to a meet up of rapists. Instead you should image a meet up of men, who MIGHT rape but never had. Would you try to shut down a mens’ camp just because those men might rape adult women one day? Of course not. That IS oppression.
I can understand anger against people who have broken the law with children. But remember that the majority of sex offenders against children are situational. 60% of sex offenders against kids 0-11 are family members. Strangers commit only 2% of child sex abuse.

People are suggesting murder against MAPs. MAPs who, again, have never committed a crime. People are finally starting to show a bit of empathy for gay people who didn’t choose their orientation. It’s time to realize that empathy shouldn’t be conditional.

Lust is not love.
When you foster sexual fantasies and lust, you are not helping your fellow man or woman. You can have deep intimate relations with all sorts of people, you can love them, that doesn’t mean you fantasize about them, that doesn’t mean you want to have sex with them, quite the opposite.
If you really love your children, you don’t’ have sex with them.
If you really love kids, you don’t have sex with them.
We have lost the understanding of love, major problem.
Rightfully so, the human condition has a major sex drive, so much so that unbridled it causes many, many issues, doesn’t matter to whom you are having sex with.
When we understand true love for our neighbors we will rightfully and easily put sex in the appropriate setting and place, until then, we are headed down the wrong road.
Having unplanned children is totally acceptable in our society, is it right?

If we don’t put any stigma on the activity and just look at it, we can clearly see what is right and what is wrong. You’re fostering something that is not helpful to anyone. It’s no different than fostering cigarette smoking or gambling.
This is perhaps not a good short- or medium-term plan, certainly the long-term plan is abject failure.
You see the hole in the sidewalk, now you see it, no judgement, you walk around it. Fostering an addictions is not helpful.
We all have some addictions.
Eating too much garbage is an addiction. Same thing, different shades, no judgement.
There’s enough pressure on teens growing up. Why can’t maladaptive, so-called adult humans let them be and enjoy the few truly carefree years they have in their lives without pressure from hypersexual beasts? Imitating your favorite Hollyweird star or favorite priest is not as becoming as it once was. Take your crud show to different dimension.
Anything real, inanimate or imagined can be an object of sexual arousal and attraction and a persons right to pursue that attraction should not be hindered. This is the overall message of Mu. Their attempt to make sexual perversion obsolete by taking away any and all boundaries is extremely dangerous to society.

Why yes, of course! I’m sure this, oversexed, highly perverted , insidious group looking for free advertisement would be delighted to use the VDC as a platform.
And is it just me or did anyone else think the ‘response’ link posted by Brian Ribbon was nothing more than a threat to the VDC? We better say, do, and believe what they want or else.
I would cut off all communications with these people immediately. Let them find other outlets for their insanity.

I’m going to go a slightly different route. We were all born that way, we are all flawed, none of us are perfect.
This is not to excuse stealing as reparations and claiming funds from those who oppressed those “needing” to steal, needing to steal, ironically iphones, luxury watches and handbags.
Part of the societal problem, which is working in harmony with the subversion of our country and the “complete” takeover of our state.

Our society has allowed, and people have fostered a more open course of sexuality every single minute of every single day. We’ve fostered lust, desires, sex in the name of love, which is completely different. We have pastors and bishops saying love is love, but leaving out sex is sex and lust is lust.
We as a society are making perversions normal via the internet. Rather than thinking, I’m alone in this thought, or perhaps I shouldn’t go down this rabbit hole, the internet makes it such that 20 people in the United States can have their own group, with the same reach and effect as what society, science and western civilization would call “normal”. What they are dealing with was common in many years past, we brought out selves out of the gutter only by the grace of God. Look at Haiti. First free, black run country, which was also predominantly catholic and voodoo, you can see the trash heaps on one side of the island from space.
What made America different, from all other nations? We were the first nation to be founded by many, many people that wanted to leave the corrupt feudal system (which they were still part of), but even more so the corrupt theocracy known as the Roman Catholic Church and Anglican church, they wanted to live a life closer to how God had planned things.
We have strayed, all of us. Some have just strayed a bit further, a lot further. Sex is one of the hardest sins to cope with once pandora’s box has been opened, more so if the lusts and things are promoted, put in movies, put on the interet, etc. etc.
One thing Montpelier won’t do is tax porn. Taxing porn would reduce sexual promiscuity and perversions, it would strengthen families and people, that is not their goal, so it won’t happen. But they’ll tax everything else. Your movies, the video you buy, the magazine you buy, the tv you watch, but NOT porn.
We need to change the direction of this ship.

I’d just like to fact check here. Percy was a poet, not a novelist. One of his most famous works was Prometheus Unbound. Mathilda was written by Mary Shelley (who is the author of Frankenstein), Percy Shelley was her husband. This pseudonym was, in part, based on Mary Shelley but not due to Mathilda (which I have never read, nor even knew about). Rather it’s based on Frankenstein. MAPs are treated just like Frankenstein’ creature. People seek our death even when we haven’t done anything wrong. Our mere right to exist is challenged by society. Merely seeing us is enough for people to bring out the pitchforks (as exemplified by the response to the camp).
I’m fundamentally opposed to incest, by the way. I think it’s highly problematic. If you ever cared to ask.

From Epstien, Weinstien, Weiner, Keith Reiner, Hunter, etc. as well as Catholic Charities and Lutheran Charity Ministries. To all the “MUs” out there: Meeting and discussing “whatever” over beer in a social setting is no problem, and lawfully it is allowed…free speech and all that. However, I don’t believe you. If you possess or exchange pictures of underage children it’s a felony. If you trade ideas and methods of grooming children it’s probably free speech but it’s not normal. It’s just not. I know of a woman whose father “loved” her from infancy through puberty and at almost 50 years old she still deals with the trauma from that. IT’S NOT NORMAL and it’s damaging to psyches of little children. May God have mercy on your souls.
