Thayer: To every Vermonter, this is your State…

Open letter to every single Vermonter:

Where do I start?   The Vermont Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader–both Democrat Socialist Leaders under the Golden Dome–are destroying our State, and my opponent in the General Election for Lieutenant Governor is on the same stormy road.

These “leaders” are taxing working Vermonters into oblivion. For the past three years, I have been sounding the alarm to their increasing taxes, over regulation, and out-of-control spending and the fact that they do not care what “We The People” say. The Senate President Pro Tempore is caught on video to his Conference, telling them Republicans in this building do not have a say, and that we will continue forward without the people weighing in. He does not respect what the People of Vermont think. They are pushing forward with their destructive agenda. With their “super-duper-majority” they can, but this November 5th, 2024, You, the People can change their ways.

This and many other actions by this leadership team should be a wake-up call, friends! We all are being educated on their agenda; now let us all get motivated to stop it and activate “We The People” to vote them all out! We must STOP electing these BIG government people, including your own Representative and/or Senator who are voting for this far-left agenda that is destroying Vermont.

Gregory Thayer

If you cannot afford groceries, gas for your car, heat for your home, trips to the hardwood store or to a restaurant for a simple dinner, buying a vehicle, paying for insurance, buying a home etc….   If you vote for any of these people, you are voting for their agenda of destructive and total government control.  Their agenda is destroying our State, and your life and your children’s future is on the line! They are eradicating the middle class. They want all possible power and control over your life and your children! When you vote for them, you are voting against your freedom, liberty, independence innovation, transparency, and personal responsibility. The Democrat-Socialist leaders policies equal BIG government control.

I strongly encourage you all to do some research to see what is truly going on in Montpelier, and the Marxist policies they are enacting.  They are working for their own Special Interest friends, not us Vermonters! VPIRG and the NEA are controlling the Legislature’s leadership.

Vermonter and small businesses across our State are hurting, and yet the House and Senate leadership keep advocating and pushing tax increases, high spending and regulations that are devastating and hurting investment in building housing.

The House and Senate leadership coupled with their Special Interest friends have a spending problem and do not care that you cannot afford it. How are you going to pay for it? Ask yourself, how are you going to pay for their 13.8% property tax increase?

They have been running our State for the last 12-15 years with their Progressive Special Interest groups, and they are taxing everything they can, leading to revenue increases of 50-55% in three/four different revenue sources coming into State coffers and they keep spending it all and more. Regulatory burdens on housing, fuel, home heating fuels or energy, schools, etc. have mandated controls over good people and investments in our communities. These “leaders” have mandated our destruction.

Affordability to live or own a business here is vanishing. What they have done to the housing industry is wrong and their passed laws which include aiming to get all Vermonters living in PUDs (Planned Urban Developments) and the Global Warming Solutions Act (G.W.S.A.) must be REPEALED immediately. The Home Heating Act is so flawed and expensive that they cannot even define the credits and how to calculate them, let alone how they will work. They claim that the fuel companies will be paying for them:  WRONG AGAIN.  These are small businesses that inevitably pass those added cost on to you, their customers. Now we know their Home Heat Standards Act will cost Vermonters $17 Billion and that the additional tax will be $2.52 to $3.20 per gallon, passed on to consumers. Where does it stop? How are you going to pay for it? I will work to repeal this law!

The Global Warming Solutions Act (G.W.S.A.) is starting to rear its ugly head. We knew this was coming; now the Conservation Law Foundation already has put Vermont on warning that they will be suing Vermont, which is “We the People,” friends:   that’s us! I will work to repeal this law!

Their next assault is on transportation. Their goal is to have all citizens get rid of their private vehicles and ride on bikes or public transport.  They want us all living in PUDs (Planned Urban Developments) inside a city center where no one will need a vehicle because everything will be right there (paid with our taxes, of course). They want combustion-engine vehicles gone by 2035. That is eleven short years away. Can you afford a $60,000 electric vehicle? How are you going to pay for it? And a battery for an EV costs $12,000 to $18,000, besides having a heavy environmental impact.   And don’t forget that it’s China’s economy that benefits, not America’s!

We have some good House and Senate Republican members in Montpelier, but their hands are tied because there are only 37 in the House and 7 in the Senate. The rest are Democrat-Socialist, with a ‘”super-duper” majority. We the citizens across Vermont MUST change this make-up on November 5, 2024. But we need you to reach out to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers to VOTE:  for me, a common-sense thinker for Lieutenant Governor, and for other common-sense thinkers running for the Legislature. Also, it’s okay to have the hard conversations with your family and friends. Working Vermonters needs common-sense Republicans elected on November 5, 2024

  1. Greg Thayer made the case for change in Vermont. Vermont is not going to get any better. Thank you Greg Thayer !

    • I have to agree with this request for specific ideas.

Re: “Ask yourself, how are you going to pay for their 13.8% property tax increase?”

Nice question. In fact, IMHO, it’s the most important question of all. But where’s the beef, Mr. Thayer? What do you propose?

    • Reading the article, and answering your Q, I believe as I surmise, is to change Montpelier back to the people and common sense and stop the power mandates, Mr, Thayer has answered grass root problems. There’s more obviously to come, Rome wasn’t built in a single day and /or the ladder can be climbed one rung at a time. Once the momentum for change is under way, things can change rapidly. Have to get good people elected.

    • Tom. No, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was the property tax issue. Changing people in Montpelier isn’t the answer, unless you know what those people intend to do when they get there. You can’t elect ‘good people’ unless you know they’re ‘good’ (i.e., they know what they’re doing).

But rather than beat around the bush, here’s what I’d do to lower property taxes, if I were elected. Pass the H.405 School Choice bill.

I find it disappointing that Mr. Thayer, or you, or the other conservative candidates for that matter, don’t see School Choice as the meat on the bone. Enable School Choice and virtually every other problem will begin to fix itself.

    • For starters: Vermonters have to stop voting against themselves, ie voting for democrats who have systematically destroyed the Vermont economy.

  2. I could not possibly agree more….there must be change. Please vote and research the candidates before you vote. Find the candidates that are proposing an end to the super majority that are taxing us into poverty. He is right….it is up to us….WE THE PEOPLE….to stop the destruction of our state. Let’s vote to save Vermont.

  3. Go back to the questions that Abby Crosby wrote and Guy tweaked. Get every candidate to answer them and get them into the local papers – asap. Give people time to chew and verify the integrity of the candidates and their histories of being oriented to “We the People,” and supporting the best interests of our communities and state.

Legislators should be pounding the pavement to hear from their constituents – not reading a sign Jill K and cronies post telling them how to vote and adding compliance by instilling fear of losing key interests to determine their vote.

  4. Greg…..

Show Vermonters the numbers, the amount of waste. play our Ace’s you’re an accountant, if Vermont needs anything it’s an exposure to how much monetary corruption is going on.

Easy targets are Grant money. These ideas are so stupid they can only get done by grant money, everyone, and I mean everyone was upset about the Fed’s paying $500 for a hammer. We’ve got that across the board everywhere. Nobody likes waste and corruption. They have the other side believing if we “cut” anything people will be starving in the street. So when you say cut taxes, they immediately turn off.

$60k each for renting a room for homeless people is INSANE, they won’t want to talk about money, issues like this.

TIF funding steals money from education, South Burlington, Barre and other towns are bilking the system.

You could easily slay the dragon with numbers, your lane, your strength. Repeat over and over again.

When I went after our town for spending $200k on a pocket park…(50-60k engineering, for 2000 sq. ft of rock in a flood WAY. (plantings and benches)…I was shut down on front porch forum immediately, that’s when you know you are over the target. This project won awards……crazy town.

Let people know, I’m an accountant, Vermont needs an accountant not some slick talking politician…oh my yes, we do. We think slick is normal, heaven help us.

    God Speed sir……

You can see what is going on by the numbers, things many cannot.

    • 24/7 laundering services. Why do think Warren Buffet is now sitting on $280 billion in cash? Poised to buy up assets on the pending biggest of all dips? The set up is in place, now await the rug pull.

Heard some interesting research and analysis about FEMA – how money is distributed and to whom. Now that the Southeast is expecting 12-30″ of rain, multiple states declaring emergencies, and the storm track ping-ponging left, right, north, south for the next four days…quite a mess unfolding there and everywhere.

What do we hear and are distracted by ad nauseum? Voting. Here’s your lawn sign.

  5. I can’t wait until next week when Greg goes back under the River Street Bridge

    • I have to question the integrity of Mr Thayer..

He has chosen to lie to the voters in the state of Vermont so how can we believe anything this man tells us..

In the last election he turned his back on the people that supported him and ended up supporting and endorsing Joe Benning for Lieutenant Governor.

Yes the same Joe Benning that said people who supported Donald Trump were white supremacists and racists and were not members of the Republican party..

This was after people worked very hard for him on a write in
campaign, spending many hours and their own money while he dictated to them what he wanted on a website and letters written for him on his behalf.

I have been in this state my entire life and there is nothing worse than electing a candidate who has no problem lying about the people that helped him and to the people he wants to vote for him.

Yep just another guy making promises he will never keep and claiming he has ideas to save them but never has any bases for those claims.

In the last election Gregory Thayer could not even fill out the NRA form properly were completely and asked me to call the NRA rep to bail him out.

The NRA rep asked me do you really think you want a guy that can’t complete a form or answer the questions correctly to be your lieutenant governor.

He is 100% right.. Greg is not qualified to be our lieutenant Governor.

We are shooting ourselves in the foot if we cast a vote for Gregory Thayer in the primary when we have a person who has proven to be a capable candidate that will get good results for Vermonters.

His opponent is a person that served us well for 16 years under the Golden dome.. he is a hard-working farmer as well as a landscaper and a stone mason.

He comes from generations of Vermonters and has The best interest of Vermonters at heart.

We don’t always agree on everything but we do agree he has done a wonderful job standing arm and arm with Vermonters fighting against those that would attempt to take our constitutional rights away and charge exorbitant fees and taxes to Vermonters.

He led the charge recently for Vermonters to fight against this Green New deal and the exorbitant taxes that we will face.

He is a man that knows how to get things done and given the opportunity with his knowledge of Montpelier and the people in the state he will get things accomplished that we need to survive.

Thayer’s opponent in this primary is the only person that will draw votes from both sides of the aisle and has a chance to take out David Zuckerman.

After all isn’t this our goal?

I encourage you to go to this web page to read about the person that claims he is going to save Vermont..

It’s shameful that Gregory Thayer has used every avenue to block the truth from being exposed to the voters in the state of Vermont about the lies he has been telling.

I have been receiving messages he has been sending to people behind my back attacking my good character.. he uses this to cover up for the lies he has been telling people.

This is a time when everyone needs to be exposed to the truth and question themselves as to whether this is the best candidate to put in the golden dome when we can’t trust him or most of the people there today.

We need to do research and elect people with the knowledge to bail us out of this mess we are in today..

Please check out this web page

    • Richard: How do you reconcile John Roger’s pledge to never vote for Trump with Greg Thayer’s support for Joe Benning? The lesser of two evils?

And if you accuse Greg Thayer of not being able to fill out the Vermont NRA form, how do you explain his success as an accountant, filling out his client’s tax returns every year?

And didn’t we just read about certain, as yet unnamed, Vermont candidates who inadvertently submitted personal information to the Sec. of State for public consumption? Personal information that was deemed dangerous enough to be censored.

Re: “His opponent (John Rogers) is a person that served us well for 16 years under the Golden dome…” – as a democrat????

No one is perfect, after all.

  6. H. Jay Eshelman,

You know I read your posts and usually I agree with them 100%.

On this issue I believe you are dead in the water..

I am truly amazed that you would support a proven liar to be elected to the second highest position in the state of Vermont.

I think critical thinking was thrown right out the window

If John Rogers does not choose to vote for Donald Trump that is one vote..

When Gregory Thayer encouraged people to vote for Joe Benning he was also encouraging people to discredit the Republican party and support for Donald Trump.

When he made that choice he led people down the same dark path that Joe Benning did denouncing Trump and Trump’s followers in the Republican party. Don’t you think that affected many votes regarding Donald Trump?

I think you need to speak to John Rogers. He says he won’t vote for Trump based on the fact that Trump screwed over some of the small working people..

He supports many of Trump’s policies… I would encourage you to take the time to attend one of John’s meet and greet festivities and ask him these questions for yourself…

Why don’t you ask Greg why he couldn’t answer the questions on the NRA form and why he never completed it..

I have spent hours compiling the lies Gregory has told. Would you like me to continue to see if I can get a statement from the NRA rep…

Why would you attempt to cast the Shadow of a doubt on the things I am saying here when I have posted proof..

I’m sure Greg would be happy to lie to you about it in spite of the fact that is exactly what occurred at his request.

Do you by any chance know who used to be the rep for the NRA in the state of Vermont because I know Gregory Thayer doesn’t. Greg has never been involved in gun ownership or gun rights as he admitted to me when he asked me to call the NRA rep.

Gregory has never attended the numerous rallies on the statehouse steps where John Rodgers stood arm and arm with the gun owners in this state to fight the gun laws being imposed by members of his own party..

You try to create some sort of a criminal out of John because he was a Democrat, however he never had a problem standing up with us to fight many of the things the Democrats wanted to impose on the people in the state of Vermont.

I also watched in a recent debate where Gregory Thayer lied again… He was asked the question if he supported his opponent in the general election in the last race after losing in the primary and he said that the guy was mean to him so no he did not support him.

Gregory is getting pretty good at lying but if you go to the website I supplied to you you can see the letter he wrote endorsing Joe Benning for Lieutenant Governor in the state of Vermont.

He has an awful hard time covering up that lie!

I have no clue if Gregory has been successful in filling out people’s information correctly I have never seen anything to prove he has been good at it or bad at it..

Gregory has been talking about a consumption tax for how many years now and has yet to come up with any solid plan that would work..

As far as people submitting personal information I have not read about that yet but if you could send me information I would love to read about it.

So Jay, inclosing let me ask you this question…
Are you going to support someone claiming to be a Republican lying about people that helped him and asking that GOP sites block the truth from the voting public or would you prefer a Democrat that looks you in the eye and tells you the truth that has done things beneficial to every Vermonter as a representative previously who has the best ability to win as Lieutenant Governor by drawing votes from both sides of the aisle to defeat David Zuckerman.

And John is no longer a Democrat he is a Republican running as a Republican…

And as a Democrat John fought side by side with Republicans for many many years on the statehouse steps.. as a matter of fact Gun Owners of Vermont has supported John Rodgers for many many years in spite of the fact that he is a Democrat.

And another Democrat representative from Clarendon, David Potter, has always stood for the gun rights in the state of Vermont.

I don’t think degrading Democrats has any advantage of winning any battles we may have in our state.. we are more dependent on them today than ever.

Do you have any pictures of Gregory Thayer at any of those rallies to share with us?

I was there at almost every rally and I don’t recall the so-called Republican Gregory Thayer ever being present Fighting for our rights.

I encourage you to go check out this website if you have not done so already.

I don’t know how anyone in their right mind would condone or support someone lying to the public especially about the people that worked so hard for him..

Gregory Thayer claims to be a man of God yet he defies our Lord’s word when he calls people who worked so hard for him liars.

This is a small portion of the messages that were sent back and forth from Gregory to me and me back to Gregory that expose him as a liar he is with absolute proof…

I believe it includes a letter from Jim Sexton making the same claim..

I don’t know how anyone with a good conscience can support a liar..

    • “And if you accuse Greg Thayer of not being able to fill out the Vermont NRA form, how do you explain his success as an accountant, filling out his client’s tax returns every year?”

Richard, you didn’t write this but man I laughed out loud at this. Successful accountants don’t black out their 1040’s. Greg did it because he doesn’t want anyone to know that he probably made 5k last year. Why? Who wants to trust a liar with their money? (I hope you read this Greg, you are a joke) When the great Mark Candon died, that was the last Rutland County Republican that could rub two nickels together.

      https://www.wcax.com/2022/06/24/vt-officials-gop-candidate-violated-financial-disclosure-law/

Anyway, I have noticed that someone told Greg the old adage, “better to be thought a fool, than open your mouth and prove it.” As entertaining as I found his Critical Race Theory tour a couple of years ago, you’re not a high school curriculum expert just because it took you six years to finish high school.

    • Richard, let’s tackle one issue at a time.

Re: You know I read your posts and usually I agree with them 100%.

      and…

Re: “I think you need to speak to John Rogers. He says he won’t vote for Trump based on the fact that Trump screwed over some of the small working people..”

First, if you do read my posts and usually agree, you apparently didn’t read this one.

“But John Rogers said, unequivocally, he would ‘never vote for Trump’. His words, despite them being the stereotypic characterization we hear from most ‘never Trumpers’. He claimed that Trump cheated his subcontractors in various construction projects and, being a contractor himself, he found that offensive.

To the best of my understanding, Mr. Rogers’ experience as a NEK masonry contractor is the extent of his contracting experience. To the best of my knowledge, Mr. Rogers never worked in NYC, or on any project of Trump’s. And Mr. Rogers didn’t substantiate his claim at all.

For the record, I have been a building contractor for 40 years. And I have worked extensively in NYC, although not directly on any Trump project, to the best of my knowledge. And I am fully aware of the fact that general contractors, like the Trump organization, often quibble with sub-contractors on whether or not a contract has been satisfied. I’ve been there.

But John Rogers hasn’t been there, in NYC at least. And, to the best of my knowledge, he hasn’t been there in dealings with the Trump organization. Yet Rogers unequivocally refuses to vote for the Republican nominee for President, based on hearsay. Therefore, I have reason to believe that everything else Mr. Rogers said was disingenuous too.

I invite Mr. Rogers to comment. But, in the meantime, because I didn’t hear anything similar from candidate Thayer, I recommend Republican Primary voters not vote for John Rogers, political moderate as he claims to be. ”

Where did I go wrong, Richard?

  7. Everyday in my travels I see more & more houses going up for sale. Our State. Our Country is being destroyed by these Marxist
Unfortunately, our electoral system is just as corrupt. In Montpelier, illegal aliens are being allowed to vote. On a national level, it was reported yesterday by Newsmax that over 100 illegals on the Terror Watch list are now living amongst us here in the United States !!!
I’m sure the true number far exceeds that reported figure.
    God help us 🙏✝️

  8. According to the Sec of State, Thayer has raised $4700 from 12 donors. That’s not enough to win a seat in the House in many districts.

  9. I had spoken with with Mr. Richard Lee months ago and told him I had made my peace with Mr. Thayer and I would no longer be involved in the public battles concerning politics in VT or anywhere else.
I will fight my battles personally.
I do not condone or condemn anything Mr. Richard Lee says or does.
He does not represent me and I respectfully once again ask him not to use me as a reference.

  10. You can have a wonderful orchestra with many musicians, you can welcome even more musicians. There does have to be some agreement about what you are going to do as an organization.

If one or two musicians keep playing Beethoven, when everybody else is playing a Handel Fuge, it ruins things for everyone.

You could have a musical organization that allows small groups to play their own selection of music and see who gets the best results.

What we have in Vermont is a group of musicians, who are given different pieces of music, and come together and play. It sounds terrible. Nobody is listening. Nobody.

    Because of this,
    the orchestra has no fans
    the orchestra has no money
the orchestra can’t play a piece of music
    the orchestra is not supported
musicians refuse to play with the orchestra, because of the chaos
the conductor seems to think this is normal musicianship.

    Bottom line.

Nobody is listening to this orchestra.
We have no harmony, or music.

    • The same can be said to describe slaves chained to their oars on a Roman galley, Neil.

“… if an exchange between two parties is voluntary, it will not take place unless both believe they will benefit from it. Most economic fallacies derive from the neglect of this simple insight, from the tendency to assume that there is a fixed pie, that one party can gain only at the expense of another.” ― Milton Friedman

    • We are most certainly not part of voluntary exchange of ideas and services in this state, much like the Romans who did cancel culture along the Appian way, we are more “sophisticated” in Vermont, we fire them and financially hang them for all to see.

It does bring compliance. Just like the Taliban get compliance, many and most dictators do get compliance. But they don’t have a country of blessed people, they do enrich themselves……for sure.

There is a reason people are terrified to speak out in Vermont, we do not live in a state where free expression or truth is allowed.

Vermont is cancel culture, censorship and propaganda king, these green mountains have certainly become.

Just keep rowing this Marxist ship, they say.

  11. If Richard Ley would spend as much time and energy campaigning against Democrats as he does attacking real Republicans Vermont would have a Republican majority. I remember well Richard’s sustained, ferocious attacks on Bruce Lisman and Keith Stern when they ran against Phil Scott in Republican primaries. Simple pattern recognition tells me that anyone who might pose a threat to his eminency, Phil Scott, is a target for Richard. Of course Phil and Richard would rather have Zuckerman one heartbeat away from the governor’s office than Gregory Thayer, who has committed the thought crime of voting for Donald Trump.

    • 🙂 There are many who believe Phil Scott has some personal assistants to keep the chaos within the party at full boil.

Who is encouraging people to run a write in? Wouldn’t you think if you attempted that before with horrendous results you wouldn’t do it again?

Some people can never admit the made serious mistakes.
      Some people are ALWAYS correct.
Some people are very, very, very busy.

    • I don’t think personal assistants have the connections to bring in Chinese diplomats (February 2019) to press the flesh, backslap, and plot out a foreign takeover of Vermont. All in exchange for an influx of cash into their personal bank accounts and campaign funds. Kingdom Con was just the set up and what we see now are the fruits of their labor. Inviting Chinese diplomats to The National Governors convention years ago was telling of things to come as well. If it’s not the Nephilim corporations – it is the foreign interests pulling many strings across of the USA Corporate board of directors and subordinate directors in each State.

  12. As it is written:

    “There is no one righteous, not even one;

Who is in charge of Division, Deception and Destruction?

    • When you are in search of the truth, it’s surprising where it takes you. I know I was surprised….it all makes sense now. There is only one way……Jesus Christ.

We’ve adopted the wrong father in Vermont, truly the basis of all our problems.
