Open Letter to Speaker Jill Krowinski and the Dems/Progs in the Vermont House
by Greg Thayer, MBA
There is no such thing as a “safe injection site.” Your actions last week in approving House bill 72 are irresponsible, horrible, and anti-family! What message does this send to Vermonters, more importantly, to the vulnerable children of our great State? How about, instead, a simple No.
I implore the Vermont Senate to exhibit some real Vermont common-sense and fix this wrong, and to find a better solution in dealing with this behavior. People are watching.

This is a slap across their face to the anti-drug programs that Drug & Alcohol Counselors have been working on for 25 year to lift people off this junk to straighten out their lives. You people are rewarding bad and terrible behavior. I believe this is a form of mental illness that you folks are not addressing seriously, just throwing more bad behavior and money at. Madam Speaker, you folks are not going in the right direction for these family and friends affected by this stuff.
Vermont taxpayers have spent millions of taxpayer dollars on state government programs, equally, businesses and individuals across our State have donated their own money above their tax dollars and labor hours in volunteering to help people of addictions. You “legislators” are leading these people down a deeper road of self-destruction. There are Addiction Programs promulgated by the Federal government that my House Rep, Eric McGuire, Rutland City is sharing with you all. You just will not listen to the professionals. Your way is not and will not cure the problem here. Why not continue to follow the Feds way of Empowering these affected folks.
Vermont taxpayers paying for this bad behavior to stay high and unproductive in society, and to never seek help – how is that safe or right?
Here is a fact from this bill, H-72, that the Speaker and members aren’t tell Vermonters. A 10 year child can go into one of these “safe” spaces and shoot-up, and there is nothing anyone including their parents can do to stop them. Remember that Article 22, medical personal autonomy thing the Dems/Progs lied to you about last election cycle and got passed. Here are some of the results of the Amendment!
Friends, I appeal to you today, right here and now to contact every Senator below and tell them No on H-72 the Safe Injection Site. “We The People” must speak up loudly, like we did last session on S-5, the Home Heat Act. We all must make our voices heard loudly again. It does not matter if these Senators below are from your county or not. Please email them now, and two more times too. We also must ask our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and others to contact these Senators too. I have included the Senators emails here for you to contact them now. Thank you.

There are safe injection sites as they set them up all over the State to innoculate with “safe and effective” experimental stuff. Instead of a chicken in every pot, they promote safe spaces to put needles in every arm. It’s the new “normal!”
And we’re left dealing with the injuries and excess deaths that nobody wants to talk about resulting from that enterprise.

Thank you for leadership. Thank you for bringing common sense to light.
Hello Fellow Vermonters,
My question is:
Are we victims? We live in a Constitutional Republic where “We The People” play a huge part in our government structure. Maintaining our Freedom requires our participation. Further: it’s our Duty.
“We The People” choose our elected representatives; local, state and federal by “voting.” Then, we have a further Duty to hold those we elect to be “legally accountable” as is laid out in our Constitutions.
As more and more citizens check out, don’t know their Constitutional Freedoms and they don’t vote, how are we surprised at the outcome? When “We The People” are absent and take our Freedom for granted, what other result can we expect?
When is the last time you read your US and /or State Constitutions, the Foundations of our Freedoms? Do you know your part and Duty? The elitists in our local, state and federal governments don’t want you participating. They don’t want you to know your functioning part. This is how they are winning?
Please consider taking a Constitution Course at Prager U or Patriot Academy. There are also other organizations where these courses are offered. Let’s get focused to know and fulfill our Duty and personal responsibility.
Our Founding Documents are our Supreme Laws and Foundations to Freedom.
Learn them! Teach them! Pass them on and encourage others to do the same!
Think! Engage! Get involved! Your Country, State and Town needs You!
Too many people protest by not voting. Many seats went uncontested in 2022.
Too many GOP are not Republicans.
And you are correct, people do not know the Constitutions, because they are not taught in public schools.
Apparently they have a couple of these “safe injection sites” in New York City, where most people walk or use public transit. In Vermont, presumably people will be driving to these sites, getting high, and driving home on the roads. Obviously it is illegal and immoral to aid use of hard drugs, but this might be the most absurd aspect. Contact the senators and talk to your neighbors. Sanity has to start somewhere.
Sanity should start with the voters, but that has been a problem in Vermont for the last 50 years now… The obsessive desire for liberals to virtue signal is so pervasive that it even extends into the anonymity of the voting booth. The lack of common sense and rationality really is inexplicable.
A simple understanding of what illegal drugs bring to Vermont. Illegal drugs bring guns. Not just guns, but people with guns who aren’t concerned about gun laws, if any. Safe houses aren’t safe. Just an illusion, a fake picture to decieve you to believe this is fixing something. Actually the longer people are on hard drugs, the quicker their body is destroyed. BUT, what about the guns. Innocent people, when in the way will be hurt. What else do drugs and guns bring ? It brings prostitution ! Generally not just prostitution, but sex slavery into the heart of Vermont. It escalates crime, drugs, guns, prostitution, and unfortunately death. Other states have tried these ‘Safe Houses’ (California, Oregon, etc) and it all brought everything listed above in greater level into their state.
Prohibition is what brings illegal drugs (and gangsters) to Vermont — it’s as simple as that.
Thank you so much for making it so easy to write an email, copy and send it to all of them in one convenient place. That was a lot of work and should not be overlooked. I will begin now….and come back and tell you how long it took.
Okay so it took from 0552 hours to 0630 hours to compose and then send an email to all 30 Senators. It took me 22 mins to compose an email. And 6 mins to copy and paste into an individual email. If I took another 15 mins and made a mail distribution list, then it would take me 5 seconds to send 30 emails.
Now we need a list of Representatives. That’s going to be a lot more copy and pasting… right? There’s 150 of them.
But I did something. Probably not a lot. But like Mr. Thayer says, “We all must make our voices heard loudly.”
I just wish I could do more.
Mr. Thayer is right…again. Judgment is required to see the difference between colluding with wrongdoers and support for those suffering.
I am addicted to nicotine and my wife has a serious addiction to chocolate. When will these substances be made available to me free of charge?
I am happy to nod, squeeze out a tear and tell a hard luck story whenever a social worker looks at me sympathetically and asks what is my recovery plan. I am sure my wife will be willing to do the same.
Please let me know.
Just another reminder that your legislators (esp the ones who support this) hate you. Plain and simple. Don’t like it, change who you vote for…..
“The republicans may not have all the answers to our problems, but the democrats are definitely the cause” D. Bongino “And remember most republicans are actually democrats, but no democrats are ever republican.”
I do not understand the mixed messaging from our Montpelier Groupthink (a.k.a. “Legislature “).
We have state and federal laws being violated. Their solution seems to be to enable that behavior with a “safe site”. And yet we will spend a handsome long term cost with continued addiction, continued unproductive citizens, continued addiction. Perhaps even more addiction. For what? An experiment?
Clean the State House of the Groupthink by electing legislators who will change the direction.
💡 Maybe those people would not be using needles if you had not prohibited all of the alternatives?
I agree with Mr. Thayer and I propose an alternative.
Instead of “Safe Injection Sites” let us fund “Abstinence Centers.” These newfangled community centers will be full of people not using drugs at all. Instead, board and card games will be provided for all to enjoy. People of all ages will sit around playing games, talking, reminiscing and enjoying each other’s company. Young and old will mix together. Wisdom will be imparted on disaffected youth almost magically via conversation with their elders.
There will be no electronic devices permitted except of course for a very large-screen TV showing VDC’s front-page (automatically refreshed every minute.) An audio recording of Guy Page asking for donations will be played once every 10 minutes at a volume that cannot be realistically ignored by anyone in attendance.
What man in his right mind would object?
