It became clear at about 8:30 PM the night of Tuesday, August 13 that Greg Thayer of Rutland had lost his bid for the Republican nomination for lieutenant-governor. John Rodgers of Glover won 56% – 35%.

About 10 hours earlier, as voters were casting their ballots, Thayer emailed his supporters (and VDC) a thank you note.

“I just want to take this opportunity to say a deep heartfelt THANK YOU to you all for receiving me over this election cycle,” Thayer said.

“Tammy and I are greatly humbled by your friendship and telling us your story.  We love Vermont. To me the best part of our great State is You, the People,” Thayer said.

“Thank you to the volunteers of my campaign,  you are Team Thayer. I appreciate your vote and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Thank you and God bless you and your family.”

  1. Thank you Greg for getting out there and standing up for what you believe in.

    Patrick Danaher

  2. Gregory, thanks for standing in the breach for the Conservative Vermonters, those who still believe we can save the state from all the progressive nonsense !!

Please do not give up stay front & center, with that being said, we conservatives need to get behind John Rodgers, he wasn’t my choice, but voters have spoken and we need to ” oust ” Zuckerman, what a pathetic display of leadership, as he is part of why the state is in such a dismal state of affairs…….. progressive nonsense

We need Conservative Vermonters to ensure John Rodgers becomes our next Lt. Governor. To my fellow Vermonters, do you want Vermont to be Vermont, or are you aligned with the left, in making Vermont the Eastern California, if you don’t think that isn’t plan, just follow the legislation by your ” Super Majority ” in Montpelier, it’s more like the ” Stupid Majority “…………………..

Wake up people, if you want to change, vote these clowns out.
    .

    • Nope he’s not a conservative and I WILL NOT VOTE for Rogers!!!
Just as I will not vote for Scott!!!
This state is lost sink the ship!!!!!

    • Rodgers is a democrat and should have run as a democrat. He will probably drop out, or more likely, a republican cannot be elected in dying Vermont anyway.

  3. I too have learned you can be a Republican, but if you’re not accepted by the RINO network you’re on your own. They ran the RINO from St J against you last election, and they found a last minute RINO to run against the lady from Bennington before that.

  4. Being a leader is not always dependent upon doing what is popular. Thanks for standing up for things that matter, but not necessarily popular. Appreciate all that you’ve done.
