An 18-year-old Lyndon man is facing multiple charges after police say he was recorded on video throwing an 8-week-old puppy, prompting widespread concern on social media.

According to the Lyndonville Police Department, officers were alerted April 20 to a video circulating online that showed the suspect holding a puppy, identified as “Bullet,” and throwing it a distance out of view of the camera.

Police investigated and determined the incident occurred in Lyndon earlier that morning. The accused, whose name is being withheld under Vermont’s youthful offender laws, was cited on charges of attempted aggravated animal cruelty, animal cruelty, aggravated domestic assault in the second degree, and violation of conditions of release.

Officers made contact with the puppy and its owner. Police said the dog was alive and has been scheduled for a veterinary evaluation at police expense.

Authorities said the case has generated significant public attention. They emphasized that the matter has been investigated and addressed by law enforcement.

Under Vermont law, youthful offender cases may later be transferred to adult court following initial proceedings in family court. Police said additional information will be released as the case progresses.

  1. We don’t know the punk’s name right now, but it probably will be revealed soon, when he commits another atrocity as an adult. Thank God the puppy is safe.

    • I hope they keep an eye on that kid. We all know that animal abuse is a very clear sign of psychopathy.

  2. Wait a minute, 18 is still a child? When do they ever grow up according to liberals? Bob Paul

  3. So is the puppy ok? Where was it thrown?

It’s interesting the public outrage, yet how many of those outraged people would abort a baby and not think twice?

Vermont is far more concerned about the welfare of pets than they are for our children, you see it all the time on the news and social media. Outrage for the care of pets and little or no concern for the care and the abuse of children.

We would get all upset about weaning animals too early, but no thought or concern about removing parents from a child’s life….

They are passing legislation to legally abuse your child in school and keep from reporting it to the parents.

We are. A bit messed up in Vermont
