The criminal prosecution of a man accused of negligence in a crash that killed a Corinth teenager last year will be moved to Chittenden County, according to the Valley News.
Kaylee Bailey, 16, was traveling west on Richardson Road on a 2025 Kawasaki KLX140 on Oct. 5 when she struck Kyle Hunt’s 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. According to Vermont State Police, Hunt was traveling east when he turned south in front of the dirt bike.
In February, Hunt was charged with gross negligent operation-death resulting and obstruction of justice.
“In late June, [Hunt’s attorney] filed a motion asking to move the trial out of Orange County, arguing that community support for Bailey threatened Hunt’s chance at a fair trial,” the Valley News reported.
Prosecutors did not object to the motion. Bailey’s mother told the Valley News that she did not oppose the move either as Hunt and his family are well-known in the county.

A 16yo on a road, assuming no license, am I missing something?
So she was on a dirt bike traveling west. He was in a car traveling east and turned south where she hit him. There must be much more to this story for the driver of the car to be cited. He made a right hand turn so she must have been riding on the wrong side of the road or riding across the south bound street and not in control of her bike. Sad, but some mistakes are fatal.
