All but one of the nation’s 27 Republican governors on September 20 issued a joint letter demanding a meeting with President Joe Biden to discuss his plans for ending the crisis of illegal immigration on the southern border. The only Republican not to sign the letter is Vermont Gov. Phil Scott.
A screenshot (see below) of the signees shows the signatures, names, and home states of 26 GOP governors – except Scott’s. There are 27 GOP governors nationwide. Vermont Daily Chronicle has asked the Scott administration press spokesperson for comment. It will be published as soon as it is received.
Border apprehensions have surged almost 500% since last year and it is essential that federal action is taken immediately, the Republican Governors’ Association said in a September 20 statement. “The President is fully capable of using his office to implement policies that protect Americans from the multitude of problems that stem from the uncontrolled southern border.”
Illegal border crossings through September 20 totalled 1.3 million since Biden took office. That’s more people than the entire population of nine U.S. States. That figure is twice the population of Vermont (650,000).
“Despite the lack of federal action to reverse the crisis, many states have stepped up and committed unprecedented resources to support the security of our national border. We have heard directly from our constituents about the damage this crisis has caused in our states, and it is our duty as elected officials to act swiftly to protect our communities, as it is yours,” the governors said.
“While governors are doing what we can, our Constitution requires that the President must faithfully execute the immigration laws passed by Congress. Not only has the federal government created a crisis, it has left our states to deal with challenges that only the federal government has a duty to solve.”
Scott has been an active supporter of legal immigration, including resettling refugees from Afghanistan and other troubled nations, saying they are needed to enhance Vermont’s too-small labor force. On Oct. 8 he said he is unaware of any plans by the Department of Homeland Security to fly illegal immigrants from the southern border to Vermont for immigration processing.

RINO Scott is once again living up to his feckless, cowardly, ineffective, so-called leadership.
Let’s all take notice that the United States Constitution in Article III, Section 3, says, “the President of the United States shall take Care that the Laws of the United States are faithfully executed.”
Our Constitution also says in Article IV, Section 4,”The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion;
King Biden is clearly NOT DOING HIS Constitutional JOB. He thinks he is above the Law, so he has left individual States to fend for themselves. Some states have REAL LEADERS and they are acting.
Scott doesn’t have the courage or Principles to do what is necessary for Vermont Citizens. He is too busy coddling King Biden and cowering to the main stream narratives and behaviors.
We get what we deserve when we elect Unprincipled, cowardly, RINOS.

Governor Scott, Just a simple question: HOW COULD YOU, IN GOOD CONCIOUS, CONSIDERING THE THE HUMAN TRAGEDY AT OUR SOUTHERN BORDER, BE THE ONLY REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR TO IGNORE THE TERRIBLE SITUATION THAT EXISTS. JUST TELL US VERMONTERS……. WHY?
Isn’t it time we wake up and get rid of these government officials that have undermined the integrity of our state and federal government. When are we going to have a full forensic audit to see how many were really supposed to be in that position in the first place. We know what happened in other states with the dominion machines. Between paying people NOT to work and the closure of many many businesses because of this virus during the last almost 2 years why in heavens name do we need all those illegals and the Aphganistan people to come here to work. Unemployment needs to be stopped and people go back to work. Socialism at it’s finest. The reduction in the police forces is causing alarm for the safety of all us Vermonters. Maybe Scott should start saying he is a dem instead of pretending to be a republican and being in bed with the Biden admin and the ccp. We have many homeless in this state but who cares about them. Bring in all these illegals from other countries and provide them with housing, food, medical care, schooling. Why doesn’t he even give them cars, or is he?. When did it become sensible that citizens of our state to go homeless without enough food and all necessities of daily living while this administration that is destroying our country are allowing over a million people to flood through the borders and be treated like royalty. How many are forced to get the fake vaccinations that are being mandated on the citizens here. And we are being blamed for the increase of the virus. Are they forced to wear masks? How many translators will need to be hired so these kids can be educated on our money. And what about the 1/2 million dollars each is being given to those separated at the border. When is someone going to stop this craziness before we are all destroyed? ..And where are those children that came through the border that got separated? Disappeared I guess. Now he is paying the people that brought them through the border for those little one. What are they doing with those children?

Scott is the biggest embarrassment to the conservative community. He is nothing more than a Democrat claimng to a Republican.
Yes he is the consummate RINO but at least he is from Vermont, which is a lot more than I can say about most of those who perform their statehouse sorcery on the taxpayer’s dime. We could do a lot worse…Gov. Molly Gray, Gov. Becca Balint, Gov. Phil Baruth, Gov. T.J. Donovan…the list goes on. Thank you Gov. Scott, for MOST of what you do. It could be a LOT worse.
We cannot house our current residents but he wants to keep bringing in more people to boost the labor shortage. That means more homeless folks coming our way.
