Lt. Gov. John Rodgers has agreed on behalf of his cannabis business to pay a $2,500 fine to the Vermont Cannabis Control Board for operating at a location that had not received required state approval.
Rodgers signed the Sept. 25 stipulated disposition as the authorized agent for Farmers Underground LLC, which has been licensed to cultivate cannabis at 582 Rodgers Road in West Glover since 2023.
According to the agreement, a Cannabis Control Board compliance agent inspected a greenhouse at 624 Daniels Pond Road on June 5 and found vegetable starts and about 200 cannabis seedlings. The board said that property had never been authorized for cultivation.
Farmers Underground neither admitted nor denied the allegations, but agreed the board had enough evidence to prove them and left the violation uncontested.
The $2,500 fine may be paid in full or in two $1,250 installments, due Dec. 31 and March 31.

Typical, rules for me, but not for the. Politicians are all crooked, but one side, that much more. Should be ashamed.
I don’t use cannabis, but I think it’s flat out wrong that there is even a thing called cannabis control board. Why should anyone need approval from anyone to grow a plant? It’s wrong, just wrong. Just my two cents.
I would think that the liquor control board could be combined with the cannabis control board to streamline enforcement.
