Vermont among 43 states now with independent choice for president

On Wednesday, July 31, Team Kennedy Vermont delivered their signed petitions to officially get Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the November General Election ballot in Vermont for president of the United States.

The required number of signatures to get on the ballot for president in Vermont is 1000 signatures. Vermont Team Kennedy rolled in with 1628 signatures.

The enthusiastic crowd for Kennedy arrived 15 minutes early at the Secretary of State’s office in Montpelier. I mingled with the crowd to see If I could get some intel on their endeavor to gather signatures. In the early stages of any political campaign, a tough BY necessary job is gathering signatures to get on the ballot.

Apparently it was quite the challenge to get Vermonters to sign on for RFK Jr..

“Getting Vermonters to sign the petitions was literally like pulling molars without anesthetic,” said Vicki Master, team captain and elector for Kennedy. “I have friends in New York and New Jersey and it was so easy for them, comparatively speaking. Fear about getting Trump elected and every lie in the media was an excuse not to sign.”

Many of the Kennedy supporters in Montpelier Wednesday held the same sentiment: The mainstream press is involved in a concerted effort to keep Robert Kennedy Jr off the ballot.

“We’ve looked at the two party system and the lock that they have…” said Juliet Rinear, Kennedy for Vermont elector. “…largely thanks to the media in this country that refuses to cover third party candidates. Refuses to include them in debates and town halls…We need people to recognize that the power truly is in our hands. We have given our power to the media and to the two parties and we need to get past that.”

Many in the mainstream press describe Kennedy as a “spoiler” candidate. This means that Kennedy has the potential to “spoil” either Trump or Harris’s campaign, by taking votes from one or the other, without him actually winning at all, and whoever the winner actually is will win with less than 50% of the vote.

Master responded, “This is a representative democracy… We have the power to elect whomever we want, Americans need to be looking at all presidential candidates, look a their policies and their platforms, do your own research, and decide who will best represent you, your concerns for the country, and take the country on a course that is your vision for the country. We truly believe that Kennedy is that candidate. We have given our power to the media and to the two parties and we need to get past that.”

Several Kennedy supporters suggested Harris or Trump might actually be the spoiler candidates.

“I am glad he was able to get on the ballot, it’s a testament of Vermont traditions to having open elections,” VT GOP Chair Paul Dame told VDC in a phone call yesterday. “With that comes some disappointment considering that RFK was trying to get on the Democrat ballot in the primary and they wouldn’t let him, and it’s too bad considering the person he was running against isn’t even the nominee anymore. If they had been willing to let back a Democrat like Kennedy that would have made this election much tougher for republicans, but Kennedy has found out like many moderates that he’s not welcome among Democrats anymore.”

Kennedy has the potential to split the vote one way or another. Which way voters swing depends on how the next 95 days go for President Trump and Vice President Harris. Many Americans say they want a third party candidate. With a name like Kennedy, it is hard to rule him out.

  1. “… it’s hard to rule him out.” That’s funny…and delusional.

  2. millions of people in america and this is all you have////harris, trump kennedy/// wow//// wow//// wow////////////

    • It just goes to show how the democrats pick their candidate, not the people it’s the party. So much for their concern for democracy BS.

  3. Last September, RFK Jr. spoke to a large crowd in Walpole, NH. The Brattleboro Reformer sent a reporter and a photographer. Their published story had photographs of (wary) volunteers, and the candidate, and his bus, and said he spoke to “… a handful of people.”

When I sent the “reporter” a photo of the crowd, sent to me by a friend in attendance, and asked how that was just a “handful” of people, she excoriated me as, “unable to read.”

What the Reformer did was to cover the PRE-EVENT event, a talk with the volunteers, and write it up as if it were the campaign event itself. So they could say they covered the Kennedy event, and technically that was true. But it was far from the truth.

I complimented the “reporter” on the astonishingly creative deviousness of this endeavor, and told her that the Reformer would make Pravda blush.

    • Yup, done daily in our state, on about every topic of importance.

It also means Kennedy is over the target.

  4. Thanks for the reporting.
Listening to Kennedy speak rather than listening to what others say he says, gives a very different picture of the man and his vision for the Presidency and the country. How he says he’d deal with the issues and work for the people is refreshing.
I was in high school when his uncle was assassinated, and have witnessed our founders’ ideals of liberty decline and shift toward Marxism year after year ever since then.
Don’t ask me what his ideas are, they’re easy to find on his website. It seems to me we can’t keep doing the same thing over and over again. Somethings gotta give or we’ll all be forced to carry WEF/United Nation digital ID’s

    • What you say in your first paragraph is exactly right. People who simply listen to what others are saying and not actually listen to what he is actually saying, and then comment negatively with no substantiation to their comments, are displaying extreme ignorance. The trouble is, SO many people in this country, right and left, are ONLY listening to MSM and hear nothing but lies, if anything at all, and making a judgement on that.

Do your own homework, people, and don’t be lazy about it! Whether you are left or right, if you REALLY listen to him, you ought to be impressed and be so very grateful that he is a viable candidate who absolutely has a path to the White House. Even if you don’t agree with everything he says, he is light years better in MANY ways than either of those 2 that the major parties think should be the leaders of this country and the “free world”.

Seriously, give the man a chance and pay real attention to him. He IS the best thing to come along for this country in many decades.

    • Agreed 100% with @cathyhoyt2000 & @notsettledscience.
If everyone here in Vermont actually went to RFK, Jr.’s campaign website:
      https://www.Kennedy24.com

and listened to RFK, Jr’s videos and read all of his views on every matter of concern facing our Nation today, they would see and know with certainty, Bobby Kennedy, Jr. is head and shoulders above every other candidate running. Especially because he’s been fighting legal battles against Corporate America his entire professional career as an Attorney.

The entire reason mainstream media is presenting such scathing and slanderous false reviews of his character ~ is precisely ~ BECAUSE ~ RFK, Jr. ~ is the biggest THREAT to those people taking down our country ~

He threatens the very same people that murdered his father (who was on his way to becoming POTUS) … his Uncle Jack, who was POTUS, and threatened to dismantle the CIA into a thousand pieces.

      There were good reasons his father and Uncle, JFK, were murdered. And RFK, Jr. is no different … Only RFK, JRr’s view at this point, as he stated on 04/19/2023, when he announced his candidacy to be President of the United States is because he’s the only adult left in the room, when he said;
“There are worse things than death, which is why I am running
for President of the United States” ” …

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is a candidate worth checking out on his website; not MSM / Legacy Media ~ WHO are threatened by his plans; e.g., those in power of EVERYTHING we SEE & HEAR these days, prefer the status quo ~ more of NOTHING.

  5. My thoughts are the winner has already been anointed and chosen regardless of who votes for who so any ballot is a waste. I’ll waste mine on Kennedy

    • Agreed. Unfortunately Electronic Voting Machines will rig it to match whomever the 1% want in the White House. Even the exit polls done by Edison Research are rigged to match the EVM’s. The highest ranking Democracies in the world do not use EVM’s; all the Scandinavian countries rank in the top 10 as “Full Democracy” and they all use PAPER Ballots only. USA now ranks 29th as a “Flawed Democracy” … It keeps dropping every 4 years because our POTUS Elections are neither Free, nor Fair.

  6. Elections have consequences, and crooked elections have real consequences and that’s what you are living with today.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. didn’t stand a chance, the DemocRATs didn’t want him rocking the boat, desperate people do desperate things, and the DemocRAT Elites made their play ” No Kennedy “, a ” Coup” for feckless Biden, and the ” Anointment ” of Harris, now that’s democracy !!

Careful what you wish for, or especially vote for.

  7. RFK Jr. is a Commiecrat in sheep’s clothing that still does not understand the founding documents, The Declaration of Independance, The Constitution or the Bill of Rights. He is another one who will pick and choose what rights he will allow us to have or not have.

“If we stuck to the Constitution as written, we would have: no federal meddling in our schools; no Federal Reserve; no U.S. membership in the UN; no gun control; and no foreign aid. We would have no welfare for big corporations. Or the “poor”; no American troops in 100 foreign countries; no NAFTA, GAT or” fast track”; no arrogant federal judges usurping states’ rights; no attacks on private property; no income tax. We would get rid of most agencies and most of the budget. The government would be small, frugal and limited”. Ron Paul

    • As I said, it’s important to look at and listen to what this man is ACTUALLY saying, in full, and in context. As well as to compare him with the 2 others up for the job. You can’t say that they are any more consistent on a lot of issues, and he is far more consistent and far more open and makes far more sense on most issues than either of them. Name-calling should be left on the playground for children.

“What is Mr. Kennedy’s position on gun control and the Second Amendment?”
      answer:
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, including the Second Amendment.
As an environmentalist and outdoorsman, he recognizes the importance of guns to rural culture in America.
He also understands why people want to own guns at a time of rising crime and low trust in government.
However, as someone whose own life was shattered by gun violence at a young age, he will make it a priority to reduce gun violence in America, which starts by looking at its causes: despair, mental illness, alienation, desperation, cycles of trauma, and lack of opportunity for young men.

  8. When around your democrat friends, talk up Bobby big time…remind them that he would annihilate Kamala in a debate, but will likely never have the opportunity, as the democrats are scared to death if him.

  9. once I heard RFK say that ” anyone who doesn’t believe in climate change should be in prison” I lost all respect for him. then he chose a socialist to be his running mate. He’s no John or Bobby Kennedy! I loved them. Him? nope!
