News alert: H610 would jail people who “refuse to assist” in gun confiscation

NEWS ALERT – this email was just received from a reliable gun rights advocate at the Vermont State House:

“House Judiciary Committee Bill H. 610 now declares a new crime to jail persons who refuse to assist in the confiscation of lawfully owned firearms.  And that crime appears to be a Felony punishable by two years imprisonment.”

According to advocates, the most recent version of the domestic violence & firearms bill now makes it a crime punishable by two years to “refuse to obey instructions from a law enforcement officer to ensure the safe removal of firearms or to protect the safety of the officer or other persons present” and also instructs that the violation may be charged to “a person present at a location during the lawful search…”

H610 will be the subject of a public hearing this evening, per this notice:

  1. Our legislators are going crazy! Vermont was a laid back non-violent State….Suddenly, the legislators are making mountains out of molehills! It is almost as if on cue a prearranged conspiracy is unloading upon us!

  2. This is all part of the NWO plan! These people are paid off and brainwashed into these treasonous acts. They literally appear to want a revolution, they have no common sense, and they are certainly making the safest state in the nation into a very dangerous state!

  3. It’s because the socialist residents of Vermont keep electing that asshat Bernie Sanders… Seriously did you all think Vermont was going to be unscathed???

  4. This proposed law is absolutely evil, just one more step to a totalitarian climate. I should point out that, in the state of Vermont, a felony is punishable by more than two years imprisonment, life imprisonment, or death; a misdemeanor is punishable by not more than two years imprisonment. Either way, this is a horrible bill, and if it makes its way to Gov. Scott’s desk, he should immediately veto it without a second thought!! Draining the swamp is a fine goal, but we should also clean the cesspool that is the current legislature now in Montpelier!

  5. A poorly written bill I think. Is this stage two on the Red Flag Law? A policeman comes to a home, asks for the weapon, and the owner refuses, is the officer then threatened by the refusal? Then he may arrest the person on that refusal? Could the officer also arrest the spouse for just being present? I need clarification. Gov. Scott, please veto this bill, or stage three may be next.?

  6. Currently two political party’s in Vermont, Socialist and Republican. Guess which one runs makes the laws and runs the State house? Thats why we are in the pathetic state we are in.
