Mobile Home Infill Program expands affordable homeownership

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Northeast Kingdom Collaborative, alongside RuralEdge, Vermont State Housing Authority, and the State of Vermont, invites community members, prospective homebuyers, employers, municipalities, service providers, developers, and funders to attend free in-person home tours and information sessions on Wednesday, May 6.

Attendees may tour several Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP) homes, learn about program eligibility requirements, and explore the homebuying process, highlighting financial support including loan terms, down payment assistance, reduced mortgage rates, and closing cost discounts. New homes for sale range: $85,000 – $110,000.

In response to ongoing housing affordability and development challenges, further intensified by recent flooding, the State of Vermont launched the Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP) to fast-track lot improvement and home installation of NEW, high quality, affordably priced manufactured homes. For MHIP Program information, visit: affordablehomes.vermont.gov

All are encouraged to attend one or more sessions to learn how MHIP is creating a new, affordable path to homeownership in the Northeast Kingdom.

  1. This would be a great program for Montpelier, Vt., especially up around the Town Hill Rd. area. That way I could afford to move back home from the nasty Midwest diseased from glyphosate and dicamba (re-approved by Trump’s EPA) to raise my young family where I got to grow up, and simultaneously aggraviate just by presence of mobile homes, the wealthy nimbys, boomers, and out-of-stater dinks nicely ensconsed around there.
