As a result of an investigation, State Police detectives learned that Max Misch, 38, of Bennington, allegedly violated conditions of release by approaching and speaking with a witness in a pending court case in which he is accused of traveling out of state and purchasing a firearms magazine in excess of Vermont capacity limits and bringing it back to Vermont.
Misch was then located at his residence May 29 and taken into custody.
Misch was processed and released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division, June 1, at 1 p.m. to answer to the charge of violation of conditions.
The case is being prosecuted by the Vermont Attorney General’s Office.
This man Needs to be placed in jail. He will not listen or obey to court orders. He screwed a legal challenge for Vermonters allowing the Vermont Supreme Court a way out of ruling in another case ( granted not a reason to be placed in jail). He’s use of language to other people as he’s left the courtroom is a disgrace. How long will the people of Vermont and the court system allow this monster avenues that he should not have. He’s a nuisance.
I fully agree he is a horrible person, but that isn’t reason enough to lock someone up. The AG couldn’t hang any illegal acts on him for the Kiah Morris complaint, so much like a cop following you just waiting for an excuse to pull you over because he doesn’t like the look of you, they kept public employees on the clock investigating someone who had done nothing illegal. It was an outright, in the open, public, malicious prosecution and the Gov Lite even explicitly acknowledged and celebrated it with his tweet : ““It turns out maybe there are ways to prosecute when there is a will to,” he wrote. “Sadly our communities of color have understood that for a long time.” It was horrificly corrupt.
Max Misch is a horrible person, so why are so eager to trample and cheapen our common Constitutional protections for such a nothing of a person?
Mr. Cashman, what makes me a “horrible person” and “such a nothing of a person”? Is it my political and social opinions? My entire worldview would be perceived as very rational and reasonable to nearly everyone in Vermont and America until partway into the latter half of the previous century. Besides that, I’m an honorably discharged U.S. Army combat veteran with PTSD who served in Iraq. Maybe you, like so many other VT so-called conservatives should stop punching right to try to seem more moderate to those who hate you regardless.
