A 33-year-old Colchester man was arrested for kidnapping and unlawful restraint Sunday after Vermont State Police said he unlawfully restrained household members in Waterbury.
State police received the report at about 1:24 PM Aug. 16 that Nubian Mohammed had unlawfully restrained household members at a location on U.S. Route 2.
Mohammed was later located at the Residence Inn Marriott in Colchester and taken into custody, police said.
He was transported to the Vermont State Police Berlin Barracks for processing and subsequently lodged at the Northeast Correctional Complex without bail. He was scheduled to appear at 12:30 PM Monday, Aug. 17, in Vermont Superior Court, Washington Criminal Division.
State police did not identify the alleged victims, citing their policy of withholding the names of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
