Lyndon Institute in Lyndonville is celebrating one of its own after alumna Fátima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025, representing Mexico on the global stage.

The school announced the news this week on Facebook, praising Bosch for the confidence, authenticity, and dedication she demonstrated throughout the international competition. “She did it! We are thrilled to share that Fátima Bosch, LI alumna, has been crowned Miss Universe 2025,” the school said in a statement. “This is an incredible accomplishment, and our LI community is proud to celebrate it with her.”

Fatima Bosch crowned Miss Universe in Thailand this week

Founded in 1867, Lyndon Institute is a comprehensive town academy (9-12), focused on core and honors academics, fine and performing arts, and Career & Technical Education programs.

Bosch, who represented Mexico in the pageant held in Thailand, earned the title after a widely watched competition that highlighted her poise and strong personal message. Her victory came despite well-publicized conflict with pageant leaders, described as bullying by her supporters. Bosch said her early training following diagnoses of dyslexia and ADHD helped prepare her to push back against the harsh treatment received at the pageant.

Her victory has drawn international attention as well as pride from her former school in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

Lyndon Institute officials said they are excited to see Bosch’s success and look forward to watching her continue to make an impact during her year as Miss Universe.

“Congratulations, Fátima!” the school’s announcement concluded.

The school’s Facebook page recorded many comments of congratulations, and this comment from a fellow LI grad: “So happy for her! I remember her dancing around campus and cracking jokes.”
