Senator Bernie Sanders made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Saturday night.

In an impressive effort for the 83 year old, Sen Sanders has been across the country for his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, including a reported crowd of 36,000 people over the weekend  in Los Angeles alongside Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Before music performer Clairo’s performance Saturday evening, he made a surprise appearance at Coachella, urging young festival-goers to stand up against ‘economic inequality, climate change, and threats to women’s rights.’

“This country faces some very difficult challenges,” said Sanders to the crowd of young festival attendees. “The future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation. You can turn away and ignore what goes on, but if you do that, you do it at your own peril.”

Sanders was introduced by Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost, the youngest member of Congress. The senator’s speech touched on typical ‘Bernie’ related issues including economic inequality, climate change, women’s rights, and healthcare.

Sen. Sanders mentioned President Donald Trump, which prompted loud boos from the audience.  Bernie replied,“I agree. He thinks climate change is a hoax. He is dangerously wrong, and you and I are going to have to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and tell them to stop destroying this planet.”

Sanders also praised performer Clairo, for her activism, noting her advocacy for women’s rights and her calls to ‘end the war in Gaza.’

“I’m here because Clairo has used her prominence to fight for justice,” he said. “We need you to stand up and fight for economic justice, social justice, and racial justice.”

“We have an economy today that works well for the billionaire class, but not for working families,” said Sanders. The Coachella stop ended a busy day for Sanders, who earlier joined New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for a “Fighting Oligarchy” rally at Los Angeles’ Gloria Molina Grand Park. That event drew an estimated 36,000 people, the largest crowd of Sanders’ career, according to his team.

Reaction among festival-goers was overwhelmingly positive, with many cheering loudest when Sanders called for protecting women’s rights and reforming a “broken” healthcare system.

  1. Boinie, what a doofus ! Hey Brooklyn N.Y. you’re village idiot ran away !

  2. And this just goes to show who really listens to Vermonts senile barking buffoon, this clown still thinks he’s relevent, just think about the DNC new face Sanders & AOC now that says it all……………………………..I hope the DNC pushing these two for 2028.

  3. I’m sure the crowd at the music festival was very tuned in to having a serious political discussion from a delusional marxist. This would have been a good event to have a roving reporter asking tough questions such as how many branches of government are there? or how many justices on the supreme court? They would of course be in support of “womens’ rights”, but be oblivious to how that is affected by penises in the locker room.

  4. Fight the oligarchy! Except when they cheat you out of two nominations. Then it’s OK to turn around and endorse them for president.

    • Me too! He thinks he is so special and he thinks everyone should hear his Socialist BS! Now he dragging AOC, another Socialist all over with him! Makes me want to vomit! he sure thinks he something!!!

  5. He is so embarressing. I hate that he represents Vermont!
What has he ever done for us? Absolutely nothing!! Just runs his mouth and tries to spread Socialism everywhere!! We an do better!!

  6. “I’m so sick and tired of this guy.” If you are referring to Donald Trump, I agree.

I also agree that the Democratic Party cheated him out of the nomination back in 2016. Bernie would have beaten Trump handily as he is now getting the support of the working class that mistakenly voted for Trump.

  7. That is Hilarious! Bernie couldn’t beat anyone and Trump is all about the working people. No real Americans want to live under Socialism and that’s exactly what he and AOC are out their pushing. Socialism doesn’t work and never will and it always leads to Communism. Ask anyone who fled Venezuala! I have hear many of them on different platforms warning us that our government was headed in that direction but it was already obvious to me that the Democrat Party is Marxist/Socialist. I’m not sharing anything I worked my butt off for with anyone!!!!!

  8. Bernie, you’re in your own element out there in California. Please, just stay there.

  9. A man who lives in a palace with gold-plated toilet fixtures, which makes Saudi princes’ residences look like affordable housing, AND the richest man in the world both care about the working class. Wake up!

  10. Imagine if you will a Young Turk tripping their brains out watching an old dried up grape Socialist barking incoherently from the main stage. What a long winded, super-duper strange trip that must have been. Hey, did I see Great-Grampa Bernie last night for real? Puff, Puff, Pass. I wonder how many in that crowd actually remember a word he said? A desperate old man desperate to stay relevent. A sad swan song for a dithering multi-millionaire who sold out his constituents for more real estate.

    • You forgot to mention the donations he got from the drug companies as pointed out by RFK, Jr.

  11. We watch the DNC crash and Burnie!
Can not wait until mid terms.

This sums it up well. Hypocrite. Fraud.

    • Sorry for the bad link. It shows Bernie arriving at the airport in a large gasoline powered SUV to take a private jet to the event and return. I see how concerned he is about climate change and the working class citizen. BS.

  13. It seems Bernie is drawing a lot of ire on account of his age, probably because Trump has never drawn 36,000 to any event. I remember the days when such comments would have been labeled “disrespectful”.

I also remember the days when the Republican Party stood for limited government. Today’s Party. (i.e. Trump), wants the federal to control what is taught in public schools, who can teach in our prestigious universities that are the envy of the world, what the media can report, what scientific research can be carried on, what arts and entertainment can be offered at the Kennedy Center, what women can do with their bodies, and individuals can be accosted on the street and shipped to prisons without due process.

Stalin and Mao would be proud of the progress we have made.
