Democrat-run Vermont has been violated – by Democrats! Someone (or several of them) broke some windows and spray-painted a threatening message at the State House. “If abortions aren’t safe, you’re not either.” Does this classify as a Democrat on Democrat hate crime? Did the perps even know radical leftists control State Government?
Or that Vermont has very loose rules for abortion. By which I mean no rules?
- Vermont does not have any of the major types of abortion restrictions—such as waiting periods, mandated parental involvement or limitations on publicly funded abortions—often found in other states.
- Vermont does not have a law requiring that alternatives to abortion be discussed with a patient before an abortion is performed.
- Vermont is one of only a very few states that allow abortions to be performed by non-physicians (physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurse midwives).
- It is legal for an abortion to be performed in Vermont at any stage of pregnancy for any reason or for no reason.
There is no requirement that parents be informed.
Anyone can perform one (same as NH). The “patient” needs to be pregnant. You need to report that it happened. So, the law only asks that if you kill an unborn baby, you must notify the department of health within seven days for bookkeeping purposes.
Maybe that seems a bit authoritarian for the average conception to whenever we decide you need to die pro-abortion Democrat, but in the grand scheme, it’s a nothingburger.
So, why are lefties vandalizing the state house? It is because of years of Democrat rule, Democrat control of media, and Democrat control of education and culture.
They think the Federal government giving Vermont unlimited authority over the issue is somehow a threat. And hey, you’re not safe if you think you might be doing something with that.
Like what?
Are you afraid that a legislature full of Democrats might remove the reporting requirement or that they’ll keep it? Or is this another one of those object lessons the left never learns? Once you’ve created these little monsters, they can quickly turn on you for not being radical enough. Tools that, once no longer needed, can be disposed of along with your political opponents – a lesson from history you never allowed them to learn.
And here they are, threatening you already.

Because Vermont’s elected officials encourage them.
For example, Democrat Becca Balint, President Pro Tempore of the Vermont Senate, and RINO, State Senator Joe Benning, respectively, have ‘real’ anger, and believe they’ve been deceived in some way by the SCOTUS, even though the Dobbs v. Jackson decision reaffirms their power (and responsibility) to regulate (so to speak) abortion.
I suspect both Balint and Benning are upset because they can no longer escape (on their motorcycles) the responsibility of an elected State official. As unregulated as abortion is in Vermont, now these two politicians, and Vermont’s RINO Governor, are going to be held accountable for that regulation (or its lack thereof), instead of being able to differ responsibility to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Talk about misplaced aggression. They should all visit a therapist. As you might imagine, we have lots of them in Vermont too.
So let me get this straight, there are no regulations surrounding abortion that kills 950+ babies every year in a state that we need to spend tax money to get people to move here because of our declining population.
However according to WCAX, VTdigger, VPR, and most of the politicians we have a gun problem? Guns kill less than 100 people (all but 20 are suicides likely from crazy left politicians policies) and guns have age restrictions, size restrictions, require a special license to sell, and a ton of rules surrounding their use, configuration and when they can be displayed and carried?
Seems to me if Vermont has a gun problem than we have a massive abortion problem.
Brian we have more of a “the inmates running the asylum” problem if you don’t mind my saying so.
These people are very intentionally destroying Vermont & the greater parts of the entire country in order to usher in some type of diabolical, tyrannical form of governance.
If my tenth-grade history teacher had been a renowned seer (moons ago) & had made a prediction about what is transpiring within the USA back then – he would have had me laughing so hard I would have been rolling around on the floor.
Now I’m merely crying. For what appears to be the end.of.this.republic.
Sobering figures, from 1999-2019 (latest figures) 26,680 in state resident abortions have taken place, so that averages at about 1334 per year over the last 20 years. This does not account for non-resident. :/
Correction: “… instead of being able to differ responsibility to the U.S. Supreme Court.”… should be… “instead of being able to defer responsibility to the U.S. Supreme Court.”
These followers are history-ignorant, typically not formally educated, irresponsible, very obviously lack self-control & have no respect for the rule of law. They are akin to puppets on a string for the democrat party who are the puppeteers.
And the puppeteers LOVE it!
Don’t you recognize the elite, intellectual when you see them operating in the cover of darkness. It is obvious they have not read the legalese of the decision but listened to the idiots they and their smart friends elected to Washington. Lets see if this senseless crime can be solved and suitably punished.
Antifa and their supporters aren’t really Democrats. They simply want authority in their own hands.
