On Tuesday, March 17, lieutenant governor candidate Ryan McLaren will return to Mad River Glen to mark the 9th anniversary of a life-changing ski accident with Ryan’s Alive Day Celebration honoring community and resilience, benefiting nonprofits that helped him recover and get back on his feet, according to a statement from campaign staff.
McLaren, a former aide to Sen. Peter Welch, is a candidate in the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor.
The evening event will feature a special performance by Vermont musician Grace Potter, with all proceeds benefiting the following organizations:
- Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports
- High Fives Foundation
- Kelly Brush Foundation
- Mad River Glen Ski Patrol
- The Pennywise Foundation
- Grand Point Foundation
McLaren will also return to the slopes earlier in the day with Vermont Adaptive in recognition of the organizations and volunteers who supported his recovery.
