Montpelier, Vt. – Governor Phil Scott and the Department of Economic Development today announced the Brownfields Revitalization Fund (BRF) – State Program is investing $1,594,500 to clean up two properties in Bennington and Northfield. 1. One has to wonder how much longer are the Vermonters going to put up with this dog and pony show. This tax and spending crime operation will never stop as enough people are paid off.

  2. Interesting take Guv, as low-income housing is precisely what DESTROYED downtown Bennington and its businesses.

And your “Shires Housing” has been building nothing BUT low-end housing for two DECADES in Bennington driving the flight out of Old Bennington & increasing drug & violent crime exponentially there.

Yeah, MORE flipping low-income housing is just the cure.

    Vermont: Destroyed from within.

  3. Build Back Better, you will own nothing and be happy.

This is not Joe Biden’s theme, this was handed to him from the minions in the United Nations. Handed to Joe Biden. It was handed to our Governor, who is handing it to our citizens. This is part of the New World Order and Agenda 2030. It is decidedly unamerican, and completely socialist/marxist.

You will own nothing, you will become serfs like in feudal times, renting from the state and those connected with the state. The most stable way to get out of poverty is home ownership, regardless of modesty, it at some point allows for rent free living.

You can pass down that advantage to your children.

When you rent you will never be free of debt.

Perhaps we should make Vermont affordable again, like it was before all the city grifters came to town. Modest homes build strong families, modest homes build strong communities, modest homes get people out of poverty.

Save the Brown Sites for commercial activity that might not be clean. Why endanger the citizens and their homes?

We can do much better in Vermont. It doesn’t cost any money either.

  4. We would be wise to set some realistic and obtainable goals for out state in housing.

    Simple, easy.

    1) allow boarding homes by right, have each town have one.
    2) 24 modest homes of less than $200k per town, within a year
    3) No permits/sales tax, etc on any home less than 1500 sq.ft.
    4) Relax or eliminate any permitting for homes less than 1500 sq. ft.
    5) Allow homesteading lifestyle by right.
    6) Give equal protection of property owners who lease, don’t pay rent, no harm no foul, eviction process, 60 days out property unharmed or time in jail.

We could solve our problem in a month and have it completed within a year.
    No taxpayer money spent.

However, the build back better, you will own nothing and be happy crowd has a different plan.

They want taxpayer subsidized housing for illegal aliens, for no need to qualify for rent, jacking up all rent prices, for subsidizing their friend building projects, for keeping people enslaved, owning nothing and never being debt free. Always paying to the state, all money and power to the state.

The above plan they have been doing since Bernie brought soviet housing projects to Chittenden county. The socialist housing projects only work for the owners and keeping people broke and in poverty. It’s the cause of everything being unaffordable in this state.

We can do much better in Vermont, much better.
