Montpelier, Vt. – Governor Phil Scott today announced the appointment of Kevin Geno of Rutland to fill the assistant judge vacancy in Rutland County following David Wolk’s resignation.
“Kevin has strong ties to the community and understands the judicial system well,” said Governor Scott. “I believe his experience in public service and leadership will be important assets in this role.”
Geno has served in law enforcement since 1976, first with the Rutland City Police Department and, most recently, with the Rutland County Sheriff’s Department following his retirement as commander of the Rutland City Police Department.
“It is an honor to be chosen by Governor Scott to fill the vacant position of assistant judge in Rutland County,” said Geno. “I am grateful that I can continue to work and help people who are going through difficult times.”
Geno was born and raised in Rutland County and lives in Rutland with his wife of 44 years, Rita. His appointment is effective immediately.

Good to see they are keeping it local, however am really surprised that this position hasn’t been abolished. Don’t know of any other State with this system
