Gerald Malloy of Weathersfield announced today he is a candidate for the U.S. Senate next year for the seat now held by Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“I am seeking office to represent all Vermonters and actually deliver results for Vermont: improve our economy, grow well-paying jobs in Vermont, restore the safety of Vermont,” Malloy told Vermont Daily Chronicle. “I will protect individual rights and support common sense solutions. I will use the leadership experience I have in business to bring jobs to Vermont, and the leadership experience I have in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Persian Gulf to promote peace on Earth.”
“I see a lack of leadership and experience in Congress, especially in important areas such as business and foreign relations. I don’t see Congress as a whole, or Vermont’s delegation, delivering progress and results for America and Vermont,” Malloy said. “I hear false promises, polarizing talk. I look forward to meeting Vermonters, listening, and acting on issues.”
Malloy, 61, is a West Point graduate with an MBA, retired Army Veteran, and 15 years of industry experience. He and his wife Stacey reside in Weathersfield in Windsor County. They have four children.
An underdog in the US Senate Republican Primary last year, he engaged Vermonters across all 14 counties.
“Last year was a tremendous experience, engaging Vermonters, learning, all the great support. I’ve met a good 25,000 Vermonters and walked into hundreds of businesses, and the main issues I hear are the cost of living, crime and drugs, jobs, climate, and now two wars. I decided to run in 2022 because as a country and state we were going in the wrong direction on these issues. We still are,” Malloy said.
He also pointed to a national debt approaching $35 trillion.
“The Federal government is on an unsustainable more-government, more-spending, failed foreign policy path. Plain and simple, we are being led towards substantially more taxes, not being able to fund entitlements, over-regulation and industrial policy that is hurting the economy (and overspending your tax dollar), and crisis in Asia.”
He favors carbon emissions reduction that is affordable. “I know Vermonters are deeply concerned with the climate and reducing emissions and I support that. I will work with industry, and other countries, to achieve objectives and reliable and affordable options.
“I also know that Vermonters recognize that young people are leaving Vermont to find gainful employment elsewhere. I have been successful for the past 15 years in growing jobs, growing business, in an extremely competitive environment. I know I can be successful in working with our Republican Governor to bring technology and innovation businesses and jobs to Vermont.”
Malloy was asked what makes him different from the current elected officials in Washington.
“Here in Vermont, if we keep electing the same folks that aren’t producing results for Vermont, like continuing to look the other way at the fentanyl crisis, we are not looking at a bright future. So difference #1 is producing tangible results for Vermont. Difference # 2 is access and action. I enjoyed engaging Vermonters all over the state last year, that’s the best way to understand issues and start to develop solutions. I don’t see our Congressional delegation doing that. If I am fortunate enough to be elected I will visit each of the 14 counties at least once a year for an open ‘town hall’ event and I will meet folks in person and listen and act; civil discussions for us, not one side versus another.”
Malloy’s website is set up, www.deploymalloy.com, and he’s on social media. “I believe if Vermonters do get to know me, and see the leadership, experience, performance, and character that I offer, that they will decide that it is time for change here in Vermont, for the 14th star to shine bright,” he said.

His election would be a step in the right direction for correcting the ills that permeate D.C
You’ve got my vote ! Now go beat Bernie ! Go beat Bernie ! Go beat Bernie ! Go beat Bernie !
I’m in. He has my vote.
Run as an Independent this time, Mr. Malloy. If the VT GOP is smart, it will endorse you anyway… especially given the VT GOP’s complete absence in fielding candidates for this office to date, not to mention its past dysfunctional support mechanisms.
I totally agree with H. Jay Eshelman for Mr. Maloy to run as an independent as the Vermont Republican would not be of any help to him at all. Just look at what all the help he got from the Republicans the last time he ran. Every MAGA candidate that ran in the 2022 election was stabbed in the back by the Republican party and then we were told that MAGA candidates could not win, when in reality they were given no chance to win.
Before the 2022 election on the tube, I saw Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell say he didn’t think the Republicans would take the Senate because of the quality of the Republican candidates. This was a blatant rebuke of all the Trump endorsed senate candidates.
A few days after that statement on Newsmax Dick Morris said that what McConnell is trying to do is destroy all of the Trump endorsed America First candidates, the reasoning being he would rather be Senate Minority Leader than Senate Majority Leader because that majority might have the vote to remove him as leader and give it to Rick Scott-R-FL. When the red wave didn’t happen, McConnell trashed the MAGA candidates again.
How could this be? A republican that didn’t want to take the Senate and put a halt to the Biden agenda, with the biggest reason that being Biden would not be able to get judicial nominees, federal and supreme court thru the Senate. Was there a conspiracy between the Democrats and McConnell? The Democrats funded several MAGA candidates in the primaries with the hope that they could beat them in the general by labeling them extremists. Now all the swamp creatures are coming out to say it was Trump’s fault and that his candidates lost the Senate. Really?
McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund had over 100 million dollars to help Republican senate candidates get elected. So, what did he do with the money? Let’s start with Arizona. McConnell gave zero dollars to Blake Masters. Masters was outspent by 64 million dollars. Kelly 73 million Masters 9 million. In Pennsylvania OZ was outspent by 15 million dollars. Fetterman 52 million OZ 37 million. In Nevada Laxalt was outspent by 34 million dollars. Cortez Masto 46 million Laxalt 12 million. In Georgia Walker was out spent by 43 million dollars. Warnock 75 million Walker 32 million. In New Hampshire Bolduc was out spent by 34 million dollars Hassen 36 million Bolduc 2 million. McConnell stopped sending money to Bolduc after he was endorsed by Trump. Republican governor and rino Chris Sununu won election by a wide margin but didn’t lift a finger to help Bolduc. McConnell gave ZERO dollars to Vermont’s Gerald Malloy who also was endorsed by Trump. Now we get to Alaska where the Alaskan Republicans censured Lisa Murkowski. Then Murkowski’s friends put in ranked choice voting to make sure that Sara Palin and Kelly Tshibaca both Trump endorsed candidates would be stopped because Murkowski couldn’t win in a straight up election. McConnell funded Murkowski because she would vote for him as minority leader. This is even after Murkowski said she would be voting for Democrats. Murkowski had six times the funding of Tshibaca.
Now the Trump trashing starts. It was the election deniers. It was abortion. We have to go in a new direction. Trump’s time is passed. His candidates can’t get elected. Why? It’s because they fear Trump. He is a threat to people like Mitch McConnell’s and the Uni-Party’s power. If you recall when he was elected in 2016, he had to rely on the Republican establishment’s recommendations to fill White House and cabinet positions, FBI, CIA, etc. And they made sure they put people around him to weaken his authority. Not so this time. If he should get elected again, he will be able to drain the swamp by coming in with his own staff, cabinet and appointees that will greatly diminish their power. Tucker Carlson’s interview with former congressman Steve King from Iowa King said Paul Ryan did everything he could to thwart funding for the border wall.
When I was a correction officer an old timer told me when an inmate asks you for something or tells you something always ask yourself why. What’s their angle? So what is the Republicans angle? The angle is the Republicans are using conservatives like the Democrats use Blacks. They only come around when it’s time to vote. They never give us what we want. Is it time for a new Constitutional Party?
I agree!!
u.s. fish and wildlife agent stole my deploy malloy sign.
Do you know who he/she is? Call ’em out! They can’t do that.
Endorsed by Trump. Says it all.
Has Malloy been endorsed by Trump?
Indeed! Restoring VT to a Constitutionally compliant state, reviving law & order, and ending the march towards socialism/Communism that your Bernie supports!
Show us that endorsement please…otherwise I don’t believe you.
“I am grateful for the support of our former president, and I look forward to working with him and other talented leaders to put our country back on track, stop rising inflation, bring new jobs to Vermont, and restore the American dream,” Malloy said in a statement Thursday afternoon.
Malloy has previously touted his support for the Republican former president, stating early in his campaign that he voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 and “wished” he had attended the “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021. The candidate has, however, said he believes Joe Biden legitimately won the 2020 presidential election.
Malloy has also made three appearances on the podcast of Trump ally Steve Bannon in recent weeks.” FROM VT-DIGGER. VOTED FOR TRUMP 2X, WISHED HE HAD RIOTED.
Okay. Thanks for the clarification.
For the record: Trump hasn’t yet endorsed Malloy this time around. It was in 2022 when Trump endorsed Malloy and Malloy touted his support for Trump, “… stating early in his campaign that he voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 and ‘wished’ he had attended the “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021.”
https://vtdigger.org/2022/11/03/gerald-malloy-donald-trump-endorsement/
Malloy never said he “WISHED HE HAD RIOTED.”
I see nothing about this on Google.
Wait…..Malloy wants to “put our country back on track, stop rising inflation, bring new jobs to Vermont AND restore the American dream”????? How DARE he OR President Trump attempt these dastardly deeds!
And speaking of riots (btw, NO ONE who was let into the Capital on 1/6 was armed) what’s your take on the BLM & Antifa riots of 2020/21 wherein police officers were maimed & murdered – and over two BILLION dollars in damage was inflicted upon both federal, public, & private properties??
Asking for that pesky friend.
How’s your old pal George Burns from one of your former “cut and pastes” on VDC from DNC propaganda points? Lol! Keep on cuttin’ and pastin’ ….. you’re a riot. A real riot!
Still have my “Deploy Malloy” sign from last time – ready to go. I pledge a $100 donation this summer too.
Police were beaten, crippled. They trashed the Capital, stole and vandalized stuff, chanted “Hang Pence”. Rubbed excrement in our Capital. But no guns so its all OK. Are you Russian?
Nope, just a learned American. One who isn’t bamboozled by propagandized & politically partisan nonsense posing as “news” and knows that the US Capital has been infiltrated many times over the course of history by GENUINE violent extremists including in the mid 1950’s when Puerto Rican radicals shot several members of Congress and then in the 1970’s when the dangerous leftist group the “Weather Underground” planted explosives in said building & detonated them. And by the way, with a population comprising approximately 350 MILLION people – a few hundred of UNARMED citizens angry over obvious election fraud (research it YOURSELF btw) and instigated by FBI Operatives does NOT an “insurrection” make – except in the minds of DNC political stooges like those who operate CNN, MSNBC, PBS & the small minority of their ardent fans, like you, who buy into their Pravda-style garbage.
And you never, conveniently, responded to my query as to what you think of the BLM & antifa organized riots that destroyed over TWO BILLION dollars’ worth of federal & private properties over the course of a year of incessant, DEADLY riots as uncontrollable, lawless thugs urinated into the faces of founding fathers’ statues, set a police station & a Federal Court House on fire, and brutally beat wheelchair-bound Veterans and Senior Citizens alike like the CRAVEN COWARDS they ALL were – simply because THEY didn’t care for President Trump or the sacred Constitution of the USA that they have feebly attempted to desecrate & destroy.
Give your radicalized ramblings a real platform where they will be truly appreciated like on sites online such as leftist VTDigger or CNN? Oh wait…..they still don’t ALLOW public comments! Lol! Censorship is grand – except when YOU’RE the one not allowed to speak, right? Oh well, you’ll just have to continue to heckle and distract here as patriots ignore your deranged accounts of your alternate realties.
“Capitol,” RN.
Das Kapital is from Marx.
I sincerely hope and pray people get out of the hate/fear mode that is spurred on by mainstream and other media. It is so shallow and thoughtless to blame others for the mistakes or faults of one person. It divides people who otherwise would care for each other, and fosters a broken society that can’t make progress on real issues. Those issues are hidden behind eye catching headlines used for increased sales.
If you had watched the investigation you might have a clue. Faux won’t show you anything. They are “entertainment”. Did you actually see the testimony of the Capital police? The permanent injuries? The gallows for Pence? The damage done? Fire extinguishers, excrement, laptops, files stolen? Doors, windows smashed. nazi and confederate flags carried, ad nauseam. Look up the frightened Republicans filmed Immediately after. See them run.
By the way, are you still in touch with George Burns? I tell hordes of people THAT one wherein “Retired Nurse” cut & pasted, and cut & pasted, and cut & pasted so much in attempts to distract on VDC, that he actually cut & pasted a rambling, incoherent post about a discussion with George Burns!!! Of course he died nearly THIRTY years ago at age 100, unable to have been able to communicate with anyone for years —- and he NEVER resided in Vermont. Don’t bother. Please. Your fabricated fantasies thus far are bizarre enough without any further elaboration from you.
See AOC as she falsely claimed to have been in the chamber as opposed to a separate building. Watch as the Capital police OPEN doors for the UNARMED individuals & ALLOW them inside. VIEW as Hillary Clinton refers to Trump’s presidency as “illegitimate”. See how Maxine Waters AND Chuck Schmer call for VIOLENCE against conservative Americans AND US Supreme Court Justices. Learn how UNARMED Trump supporter & US veteran Ashly Babbit is murdered by Capital Police in cold blood! Watch especially as Trump has NEVER been charged with inciting any “insurrection”. Scared about President Trump’s escalating poll numbers? I would be too if I were you. MAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s becoming apparent that there may be more to this Retired Nurse person than a mere retired nurse. Her/His/Their projected talking points are curiously familiar.
We’re learning that the now infamous gallows were built by people before Pence declared his intentions. How did they know? Why did the Mayor of D.C. decline the national guard president Trump recommended be deployed that day?
And yes, I did watch interviews of the Capitol Police. Yes, I watched the ones who testified to the sham Jan 6 committee. But I also watched the interviews with the chief of U.S. Capitol Police, Steven Sund. Sund, who contradicted the claims made by his own officers and Jan. 6 committee officials, and was then told by Speaker Pelosi to resign.
Never mind that star J6 witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, has recently changed her testimony and that the video tape of her original remarks has mysteriously disappeared.
And I’ve seen recently published CCTV and bodycam footage of Capitol Police on site at the time speculating that they’d been set up too.
Fire extinguishers? Really? It’s now been proven that officer Brian Sicknick wasn’t killed by a protestor wielding a fire extinguisher. In fact, he didn’t die from any injury received on Jan. 6. Which makes it even more curious that he was only the 5th person ever to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda.
And now we know that the FBI lost count of the undercover agents who infiltrated the crowd at the Capitol that day, even before Trump finished speaking. And there are allegations by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) of ‘ghost buses’ filled with FBI agents who arrived in Union Station not far from the Capitol early in the morning of Jan. 6, dressed as Trump supporters.
What we’re learning is that virtually every talking point put forth by this Retired Nurse character mimics the carefully constructed narrative put forth by the Jan. 6 committee sham hearing. And now we’re also learning that much, if not most, of these talking points were carefully orchestrated fictions intended to meet the ‘insurrection’ narrative.
Just sayin’, Retired Nurse. Just sayin’.
KATHLEEN: We are talking about insurrection, treason, perjury. Your “What about…” is an entirely different conversion. But I constantly see the GOP accuse others of what they do. And never respond to the actual facts. A Trumper who supported a riot, trashing the Capital, injuring police while Trump did nothing. And your candidate loves him.
You haven’t, yet again, answered to ANY of my replies or queries because in all obviousness – you cannot. Instead, you just repeat the exact same nonsense parroting as though a DNC-controlled CNN/MSNBC fake news talking head yourself. US Capital attacked by LEFTIST radicals over the decades, riots, murder, & mayhem caused by your BLM & antifa cowardly antagonist anarchists, police defunded that have directly caused massive spikes in crime, and a FEDERALLY UNLAWFUL “open” border created by your Obama/Biden MARXISTS who verbally stated they were in power to “fundamentally transform” this nation (Obama) & that Americans must adjust to the new “Liberal World Order” (Biden).
Now, with your NEXT post(s) in which you shall AGAIN conveniently neglect to address ANY of the FACTS/QUESTIONS I posed to you – I shall very simply post over & over & over 12/15 9:39 pm.
Keep on blathering & you’ll keep getting: 12/15 9:39 pm – gives my factual post more & more coverage with every unhinged post you make. Thanks!
See you perhaps on a forum where fake “news” is prized – CNN & VT Digger….whoops! I forget yet again, no free speech ALLOWED!
Election FRAUD 2020 – NEVER Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HJE: You are repeating nonsense and listening to God knows who. Your peeps threaten people and make discourse dangerous. No real dialogue here. Just fantasy and snowflakes.
Retired Nurse (whoever you are): I documented my points and, obviously, you can’t refute them or you would have. ‘Nuff said.
You will have to overcome voter fraud and ballot box stuffing perpetuated by the democrats as well as lack of support from the GOP.
KATHLEEN- what you babble about has NOTHING TO DO WITH ME. The discussion is about a candidate and the Capital Riot. Look up “what about ism”, try learning some logic. Your nonsense is like me asking “what about all the Conservative Republicans who, dressed in nazi regalia, paraded thru Times Square and did all they could to keep FDR from helping Britain. Look it up. Or the nazis who paraded thru Charlottesville chanting vile antisemitism. Trump’s “good people” What about them? nazi flags in the Capital. Answer that? No you shouldn’t. The conversation is NOT about your ‘what about ism’.
12/15 9:39 pm
Oh, and I nearly forgot: MAGA!!!!!
Donald Trump leading the national pack for POTUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joe Biden still seriously impaired.
Oh, the “good people,” hoax. What was the next sentence out of Trump’s mouth? If you don’t know, you’re a dupe, and if you do know, you’re a liar.
I hesitate to state the obvious, but the Vermont Republican committee is blind to the state electorate. Proposal 5 was overwhelmingly approved by 77% of voters. Never again will Vermont send a non pro choice congressman to Washington. You’re an idiot if you believe otherwise. As suggested, running as an independent will distance yourself from the negative baggage.
Campaign on a platform of, personal liberty, pro 2nd amendment, secure boarders, aggressively deporting illegal aliens, including expired visas. Return to a workable plan of immigration and citizenship, energy independence, and a don’t ask/don’t tell military policy. Abandon the climate accord and Solyndra non sense. Instead use those funds for a mission to cure cancer.
Do that and you will be assured election!
Easy answer – just say abortion is a state issue, not federal. Run on border, crime, spending, the stuff that’s really important.
Grateful Gerald Malloy is stepping up again. That in and of itself shows bravery.
Not only that Grace, but it shows a genuine committment from a true believer and promoter of things that have kept VT as a state we are familiar with. VT needs Malloy now more than ever. The carpet baggers who have tempoarily taken over this state need to be shown the door, and we need to get back to common sense and good judgement, something that is sorely lacking by the crowd in the Legislature currently, and in D C.
Do NOT allow the leftist clowns to turn this into a debate on their favorite pastime: ending the lives of unborn babies. In VT, they already were highly successful in bamboozling voters into passing Prop 22 which supposedly protects their nonexistent “right” to murder innocents. STICK to the issues at hand here!
Can’t wait to see this flatlander and his fascist values be repudiated again
Please list his Fascist values.
Ask BLM….disassemble the nuclear family, use violence, murder, & mayhem to accomplish your goals, try to hide from your self-professed statement that you are “trained Marxists”, etc. etc.
Instead of parroting leftist fantasy, how about some homework instead?
Wow Chris the ole flat lander ploy…really? Our entire delegation in DC are “flatlanders”, so what’s your point? As a non-flatlander (9th generation, 1789) I guess I can speak to that. I have no problem with folks settling here from elsewhere, I do have a problem with them bringing their failed ideas along with them. Welch is a Big Pharma suck-up who never could have gotten elected where he’s from, Bernie who has NEVER worked an honest day of labor in his life and purports to be for the working man is now a millionaire with three homes, Balint is a cardboard cutout doing the bidding of Soros and the like. All that to say, I’ll watch and see who emerges in the months ahead, I do like the suggestion by some here for Malloy to run as an independent…I walked away from the GOP a while ago, more of a Jeffersonian Libertarian at this point.
Peter attended College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Before he finished his degree, Peter left school to hitchhike to Chicago and organize against housing discrimination in 1969. After returning to school and completing his degree, he attended and received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1973. After law school, Peter settled in White River Junction, Vermont, becoming one of the county’s first public defenders for low-income folks. He then founded a small law practice, winning high profile cases to restore retirement benefits for workers, protect property rights for the elderly, and more.
Peter Welch served in the Vermont State Senate from 1981 through 1989 and from 2002 through 2007. During his time in the state Senate, he was minority leader from 1983 to 1985 and president pro tempore from 1985 to 1989 and from 2003 to 2006. In 2006, Peter ran and won Vermont’s sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in a race that received national attention as the only contested congressional race in the country where both candidates refused to air negative ads.
From that socialist rag- Forbes Magazine: “Since his bid for the Democratic nomination raised his profile in 2016, Sanders has released a book a year. In all, he has pulled in at least $1.7 million from the series, starting with Our Revolution (220,000 copies sold, according to industry tracker NPD BookScan) and then Bernie Sanders Guide to Political Revolution (27,000) and finally Where We Go From Here: Two Years in the Resistance (26,000).
Before he was elected to Congress, Sanders ran a small business producing filmstrips on New England history for schools and served as mayor of Burlington, Vermont. As with many Americans, the bulk of Sanders’ net worth is tied up in his home. In D.C., Sanders owns a row house a short walk from the Capitol, which he bought in 2007 for $489,000. Forbes estimates he still has around $350,000 left on the mortgage there.”
Nothing mysterious there. Presenting facts is not trolling. But Conservative smears has become ever more common. As a retired nurse, with permanent physical and emotional damage, I comment on both sides of the spectrum. But I find more rage and denial on the ‘conservative’ side, as demonstrated here. Why the House has done NOTHING.
Ummmmm….your beloved Bernie is from BROOKLYN. A “flatlander”. Are you really this dense??????
They both worked hard for others and achieved success by doing so. No truth in the Welch never worked lie or the nonsense about Bernie. Go write a book. Or read one!!!
I know. Lets build a wall around Vermont!
Read this Retired Nurse – whoever you are:
‘Welch Takes Campaign Cash From Telecom Regulated by His Wife’
Reported by Seven Days:
“On March 1, (2018) Vermont Public Utility Commissioner Margaret Cheney signed permits for three T-Mobile cell towers in Chittenden County. Five days later, the company’s political action committee spent $500 hosting Cheney’s husband, Congressman Peter Welch (D-Vt.), at a campaign fundraiser.”
“Within two weeks of the permit approvals, on March 12, the T-Mobile PAC cut a $2,500 check to Welch’s reelection campaign. Soon after that, on March 27, T-Mobile filed another motion with Cheney’s Public Utility Commission, this time to update equipment at a Jay Peak cell site.”
“Welch and Cheney maintain that neither was involved in the other’s dealings with T-Mobile. They say a strict firewall separates their respective careers.”
Sound familiar? And Joe B. was never involved in Hunter’s sleazy ‘dealings’. And Anthony Fauci’s wife, Christine Grady, wasn’t the Director of Ethics at the National Institutes for Health while he grifted with big pharma as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. No wonder they don’t share their names publicly.
And this: New York Post – Aug. 9, 2023
“Sen. Bernie Sanders, (I-Vt.) campaign committee wired $200,000 earlier this year to a nonprofit established by his wife and stepson, filings show.”
Make no mistake… RINO Republicans do it too. But your myopic point of view remains curiouser and curiouser.
Bernie, worked ? Bernie, worked ? Bernie, worked ? Bernie, worked ? Something here does not compute ! That disingenuious d-bag does not know how to spell work !
Veterans and patriots will stand behind candidates with common sense that will support and defend the Constitution putting American values first. Thank you for stepping up. You can count on my support Gerald.
I look forward to seeing you in that seat Sir!
We tried to ” Deploy Malloy” the last time, let’s get him a seat in DC this time around, we need some common sense for the state !!
Gerald, you’ll get my families votes……………… Good Luck !!
The best news I have heard in years. He’s got my vote!
Oh Wally, you think of that yourself? That was vicious, I should never post again
Great! Stick to Antifa meet-ups and feebly attempting to dismantle the Constitution with the DNC.
Proof is in the pudding.
I appreciate the comments from ‘Chris’ and ‘Retired Nurse’, whoever they are, for what they say. I recommend that they continue to express their opinions – because nothing better supports conservative common sense than their failure to substantiate their points of view. In effect, anyone convinced by any flawed narrative, from either side of the aisle, deserves the consequences.
And thank goodness VDC is providing this forum. Yet another Vermont tabloid, Vermont Business Magazine, has recently ended its commentary provisions. Thus, the information disseminated by VDC commentors is more important to consider than ever as main stream propaganda proliferates.
Do your own research VDC readers. Don’t take anyone’s word for anything. And, at the same time, don’t discount what’s written here as mere conspiracy theory, especially when it’s substantiated.
An obvious history of citizens speaking their minds, doing their jobs and having their families threatened By MAGA.
Just like “DOJ to Investigate Threats Against School Board Members – The FBI will look into a spike in harassment, intimidation and threats of violence against school board members across the country based on coronavirus policy, critical race theory and more.” – U.S. News, 10-4-21
But who cares whether or not parents are informed by public schools when they vaccinate kids, or they discuss gender dysphoria with kindergarteners. At least the schools still have to have permission to give kids an aspirin. Not!
If you don’t want to be threatened, Retired Nurse (whoever you are), how about you stop supporting those threatening parents and their children.
That explains why the sudden rise in leftist comments. Thanks for pointing that out Mr. Eshelman. As usual, you are on point and elegant in your replies.
Respectfully,
Pam Baker
I appreciate that Jay, and while I disagree about your assessment because I usually own you every time we interact, it is nice to engage in some free speech. You are at least one of the few ones here that doesn’t immediately engage in insults and projections, screaming “Antifa” and Soros mumbo-jumbo. I’m not too old to remember when you could disagree with people politically and still be civil to each other. That’s what happens when people build their identity around a cult of personality or identity politics.
You’re welcome, Chris. I do appreciate your continued willingness to support my conservative common sense with the juxtaposition of your flawed narrative. Perhaps one day you and Retired Nurse will address the specific issues I’ve raised, as you have promised to provide in the past but have yet to deliver.
Selection season is well underway! I withhold my vote to see what the opposition pulls out of their deep well of pysops. Since 2020, we’ve seen more collusion, more wars, more fraud, more corruption, and more criminal conducted from top to bottom than ever before in my life (50+ yrs.) If the United States, including Pervmont[sic], happens not to fall into complete Mad Max mode by November 2024, I would consider it an absolute miracle, and most likely, no longer a corporation. The United States, currently, is a spinning, freefalling jetliner nearing impact to the ground. Only God knows if there is a competent pilot and crew able to avoid complete calamity, perform a Sully Sullenberger manuever at the very last second. Stay tuned.
As this site gains popularity it will gain trolls. Remember HRC’s “Correct the Record,” run by David Brock? It hasn’t gone away.
Recognize them for what they are.
Stay on task and Deploy Malloy.
Go Army! Beat Bernie!
Malloy is from Boston, which at least makes him a New Englander. He’s a massive underdog of course, but the process to make Vermont sane politically will take work and a lot of losses before the wins. I’m pulling for him.
We definitely need to deploy Malloy. He is a patriot and wants to do the best for the PEOPLE, not for himself, like the majority of politicians who sell their souls. Common sense has been obliterated by the left and we smart folks need to bring it back!!! I’ll vote for Malloy any time he runs. He is the BEST candidate for VT!!!!!!!!!!!
But we must make sure there is no more hanky panky with the votes this time around. I trust NO ONE in this present government – State or Federal!
inflation, high interest rates, automobile repossessions, house foreclosures, and higher taxes the new normal have a merry christmas and a happy new year from your federal reserve bankers whom are running this dog and pony show
In the political landscape of Vermont, a state known for its liberal and progressive inclinations, Gerald’s attempt at securing a position in office raises more questions than answers. His track record and recent statements paint a picture of a candidate whose sincerity and integrity are questionable at best.
Gerald’s proclamation, “I will protect individual rights and support common sense solutions,” sounds hollow when scrutinized against his past affiliations and actions. One can’t help but wonder: does his definition of ‘individual rights’ extend to upholding a woman’s constitutional right to abortion, a topic of significant importance in Vermont?
His boast of using business experience to foster job growth in Vermont is equally suspect. Gerald’s background, closely tied to the so-called “West Point Boys Club,” suggests a reliance on military connections rather than genuine business acumen. This raises concerns about the nature of his business dealings and whether they veer more towards the realms of cronyism and corruption rather than legitimate enterprise.
Gerald’s critique of the federal government’s fiscal policies reeks of irony, considering his long tenure within a military culture often criticized for its inefficient use of resources. Can someone deeply entrenched in a system that prioritizes bureaucracy over efficiency genuinely champion fiscal responsibility and respect for taxpayer money? His past does not inspire confidence in this regard.
Moreover, Gerald’s claim of engaging with Vermonters to understand their issues seems disingenuous. His interactions appear to have been largely limited to a minority of right-wing extremists, representing a mere 25% of the state’s electorate. This narrow focus calls into question his ability to understand, let alone address, the concerns of the majority of Vermonters.
His campaign management, primarily run by out-of-state consultants, further exemplifies his detachment from Vermont’s local needs and talent. The use of campaign funds, possibly coming from hardworking Vermonters, to enrich his associates outside the state, is a worrying indication of where his loyalties may lie.
Gerald’s political aspirations in Vermont raise significant doubts. His past actions and affiliations suggest a pattern of insincerity and opportunism, leveraging extreme ideologies for personal gain while remaining disconnected from the majority’s needs and values. Vermonters deserve a representative who is genuinely committed to their interests and embodies the state’s progressive ethos, rather than one who appears to exploit it for personal advancement.
On Protecting Rights: “Mr. Gerald, you’ve pledged to protect individual rights, yet your past affiliations seem to align with groups that oppose certain individual liberties such as women’s reproductive rights. How do you reconcile these conflicting stances, especially in a state like Vermont that values personal autonomy?”
Business Experience vs. Military Background: “Given that much of your touted business experience is closely linked with the military-industrial complex, can you provide specific examples of your successful business ventures that are independent of military connections and how these will translate to bringing jobs to Vermont?”
Fiscal Responsibility: “Considering your extensive background in a military culture often criticized for inefficient resource management, how do you plan to implement and ensure fiscal responsibility within the government, a stark contrast to the ‘spend it or lose it’ mentality you’ve been accustomed to?”
Engagement with Vermonters: “You mentioned engaging with Vermonters across the state last year; however, it appears your interactions were mainly with a specific political faction. How do you plan to represent and address the concerns of the broader Vermont electorate, which seems to hold different views from your primary supporter base?”
Out-of-State Campaign Management: “Can you explain why your campaign is predominantly managed by out-of-state consultants? How does this align with your promise to bring jobs to Vermont and support local talent?”
Donor Fund Allocation: “You’ve emphasized fiscal transparency and responsibility in your campaign. Can you clarify how the donations, potentially sourced from average Vermonters, are being utilized, especially in terms of payments to out-of-state consultants versus local campaign spending?”
Voter Fraud Claims: “In the past few years, what concrete evidence have you found and presented that supports your claims of voter fraud? How do these findings align with the broader consensus on election integrity in Vermont and nationally?”
Tom Arnold is raising the classic ‘false flag’ hit job using innuendo in place of fact.
Re: ”… does (Malloy’s) definition of ‘individual rights’ extend to upholding a woman’s constitutional right to abortion, a topic of significant importance in Vermont?”
Why don’t you ask him? And what power does he have to amend VT’s Constitution?
Re: “West Point Boys Club,” ?
What’s this? Yes. Malloy is a West Point graduate. But West Point graduates include women too. Your misogyny is showing, Mr. Arnold.
Re: “This raises concerns about the nature of his business dealings and whether they veer more towards the realms of cronyism and corruption rather than legitimate enterprise.”
Do you mean to like the cronyism and corruption practiced by folks like Peter Welch and his PUC commissioner wife, Margaret Cheney? Or like Bernie Sanders funneling $200K from his campaign to his wife, Jane?
Re: “Can you clarify how the donations, potentially sourced from average Vermonters, are being utilized, especially in terms of payments to out-of-state consultants versus local campaign spending?”
Do you mean like Becca Balint and Peter Welch taking stolen money from FTX CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried?
Most of the rest of this absurd Tom Arnold hit piece merely rehashes these initial issues. All innuendo. Not one fact.
What are the chances of anybody, yes I said anybody, being a worse representative of Vermont values than than the disingenuous dirt bag from Brooklyn N.Y. ?
Deploy Malloy !
You are aware he’s running as a Republican right? He’s not running on Vermont’s “progressive” inclinations, he’s running to change those inclinations.
Mr. Arnold,
I cannot in good conscience get any further in your spiel than this phrase:
“does his definition of ‘individual rights’ extend to upholding a woman’s constitutional right to abortion.” If you are referring to the Federal Constitution, there is no such right. Never has been, it was a previous SCOTUS decision and was correctly overturned by the current SCOTUS. Unfortunately, it was added, again, to the laws of Vermont and this time put so poorly worded into the Constitution, that the ramifications will be disastrous should anyone test it in court. So, let’s see how that plays out.
I would take any true patriot, white male any day over any leftist weasel. Not my usual verbiage but frankly, our country is in the outhouse thanks to all the marxist/leftist/progressive bullcrap and I have had enough.
Respectfully,
Pam Baker
Yay Pam and H. Jay Eshelman. I too am often astounded by how many people believe it is their “Constitutional right” to murder an innocent on this basis. Disgusting and delusional.
Patrick- how predictable. All the spurious, derogatory and demeaning name calling and labeling is a hallmark of the new Republican party. As have been all the threats to families. Disagree in public with a Republican and you take obvious, well documented risks to yourself and family.
Lol! Anything like Maxine Water’s ordering her leftist radicalized base to go after conservatives in public or Chuck Schumer threatening US Supreme Court justices that they released the whirlwind and will PAY the price shortly before one of them attempted to murder Kavanaugh? Or your cowardly Antifa anarchists physically assaulting US Vets and GOP senior citizens? Or how about Obama’s IRS targeting conservative tax payers? Proven and admitted. Not to mention the Bernie Sanders devotee who shot at and tried to murder GOP Congressional members as they played a game of baseball?
And pray tell, precisely WHICH commenters on here have “threatened” you? And can you let us know when your police report is complete and filed?
You are nothing more than your typical DNC disrupter troll with the brainless mentality of your Antifa BFF’s who helped cause the aforementioned two BILLION dollars in damage to Federal, State, and private properties. Useless, ignorant thugs all.
K.G. Well the tone of your reply and your name calling, labeling and “what aboutism” pretty well prove my point. Beat up any elderly Asian women lately? Attack any Jews or attend a torchlight parade chanting? Hit any spouses on the head with a hammer? Shot up any Black churches or synagogues? Written threatening letters that caused families to hide from death threats? How’s Rudy?
All this hatred and bile because someone mentions that your candidate is a pal of your party leader. That simple.
VDC readers: “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster… for when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”
― Friedrich W. Nietzsche
Lol!!! Your chronic irrational, baseless, and quite obviously mentally unstable comments are truly amusing to constantly keep viewing. You have more than revealed yourself beyond doubt as an Antifa radical and certainly NOT a “retired nurse” who when being cornered into surrender by Facts & Reality – turns tail and begin the LITANY of yet more leftist blather & utterly meaningless accusations!
Again, let us know when you’ve filed those police reports……I’ll be packin’ a bag just in case……. for a stay in the slammer!
DEPLOY MALLOY VERMONT!!!
And Merry Christ.mas, young man.
Deploy Malloy Vermont!!!!!
Folks, just be satisfied that we don’t operate in an echo chamber. It is good to hear their thoughts. It is good to interact with them. Don’t take it personal. None of this is about you personally, about us as individuals. No one on here knows anyone personally, with a rare exception. I would encourage you to be more objective, as vituperative and vitriolic words and emotions tend to do more damage to the person engaging in it than the recipient.
Name calling never got anyone anywhere. I know I have fallen to it in the past, and sometimes am sorely tempted to lash out but then I remember, it’s not about me. I am nobody. I am grateful that VDC allows commentors so that I can see that there are others out there that do think and behave as I do and that I am not an island in a sea of deplorable leftist/progessive/marxists.
Don’t take “Retired Nurse” seriously. Or Chris or anyone else for that matter. Especially if they are unwilling to be their real person online. While I admit, my photo is a bit old, and my hair is now white, that is my face, that is my name. I stand behind every thing I have ever said, smart or stupid.
Pam, I would appreciate it if you would leave my name out of your mouth. The only reason I don’t use my real name is that the majority of people who comment here don’t work, have money or anything to lose. I don’t need one of you doxxing me because I don’t belong to the cult of the Orange man.
“Chris”, I don’t care about you or what you do for a living or how you choose to vote. I don’t say that viciously. I actually just stated very democratically above, (small D) that hearing what you have to say is important. I don’t care about you personally. I don’t have a vendetta about you. And I didn’t actually say your name… I wrote it. So try not to invoke Will Smith.
If you do not wish to be addressed in any way, might I suggest you stop commenting. To comment is to risk response. Don’t be offended “Chris”. I don’t know you, it’s not personal. I know the online persona you wish us to see. I’m sure you are a pleasant and congenial individual, well-liked by neighbors and colleagues. I say that sincerely. Most people are. But you choose to write the way you do, and I choose to respond the way I do. Don’t make it personal unless you like to be unkind to others or like to be offended. You are as much a part of this equation as I am and others here. Pony up my friend. Ride for the brand but do it with dignity. Make your points but leave vitriol and vindictiveness out of it. You are better than that. We are better than that. Let’s have grown up discussions.
Did I say anything unkind specifically about you recently? I have not. Have I ever asked you to stop saying unkind things? I have not. But I will. I will defend your right to write and speak as you see fit. I believe in your right to say what you believe. But you don’t have the right to tell me what I can and cannot write (within the boundaries of current laws).
And you doxxed yourself. You made a comment a few times and all it would take is a tiny bit of cash and some time and I could find you. You can find me. I don’t make it easy but I’m not paranoid. So what. It’s relatively easy to find people these days. And everyone has something to lose. And just for the record, I do not belong to the “cult of the Orange man.” I have never ever said anything along those lines or in any way supported Trump. I don’t support the old duffer in office and I have voted for him but that doesn’t mean I belong to a cult. That’s your hyperbole. But that’s how you roll. Making assumptions. Reread what I wrote above and this time, relax. Take a deep breath and know that I am sincere and not trying to be vile. Try to do better “Chris”, I know you have it in you. And remember, it’s not personal. Truly and sincerely.
“Did I say anything unkind specifically about you recently?” You wished that someone shot me a few weeks ago, am I supposed to respect you because you haven’t in the last three weeks.
That’s a lot of word salad for someone who doesn’t care about me, that I’m definitely not reading. Again, if you could just keep my name out of my mouth. I know Guy appreciates the web hits, but it’s getting kind of disturbing
That’s pretty funny.
“Chris” I tried to find that comment where I wished you bodily harm. Can you remind which topic or what day? I can’t seem to find it.
see previous comment any questions///////
