A Milton man imprisoned for causing the 2021 crash that killed his two young daughters is now facing a new felony drug charge while behind bars in New Hampshire, the Caledonian-Record, a daily newspaper published in St. Johnsbury and covering neighboring towns in Vermont and New Hampshire, reports.

Jordan Couture, 40, was indicted in March on a Class B felony charge of possessing drugs at the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord, according to court records. A court conference is scheduled for July 27.

Couture pleaded guilty in 2024 to negligent homicide in the deaths of his daughters, Kyriana Couture, 10, and Kelsey Couture, 7. Prosecutors said he was driving nearly 100 mph on Interstate 93 in Littleton on Dec. 5, 2021, when he lost control of his pickup truck, causing a crash that killed both girls, who were not wearing seatbelts. He was sentenced to three to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of negligent homicide, with additional felony convictions suspended.

Court records show Couture had a lengthy Vermont driving record before the fatal crash, including DUI, excessive speeding and driving with a suspended license. After being charged in New Hampshire, he was twice arrested in Vermont in 2023 for allegedly violating bail conditions that prohibited him from driving.
