A 19-year-old Lyndon man has been charged with stalking after police say he secretly attached a GPS tracking device to a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old girl.

According to the Lyndonville Police Department, officers began investigating in May after the juvenile’s father discovered a suspicious object taped to the back of the vehicle’s license plate. The object was determined to be a GPS tracker.

Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Zackory Hosmer, 19, of Lyndon. He was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on Aug. 10 at 8:30 AM to answer a charge of stalking.

Police did not release additional details about the relationship between Hosmer and the juvenile or how long the tracking device had been attached to the vehicle. The juvenile’s identity was withheld because of her age.
