The Bradford Fair kicks off on Friday. You can also get a taste of the season at Warren Old Home Days, which starts on Friday as well. To whet your appetite, here is a slideshow featuring fair foods from each of the 50 states. Fried dough from the Vermont State Fair in Rutland make the cut. The rest run the gamut — from pedestrian to spectacular culinary catastrophes. Alaska’s entry has been called a “delicious, delicious disaster.” See below for lists (c/o Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, & Markets and the NH Fairs Association) of all the agricultural fairs in Vermont. |

I would argue that the Vermont State Fair food should be the Maple Creamie as served at the Maple Barn of the Vermont State Fair, and I am sure, most others as well. Fried bread dough is everywhere.
