Overstrict rules are counterproductive

“All of the countries we’re visiting have a mandatory 10-day quarantine if you test positive for COVID,” said the cruise ship captain during the safety briefing just after we were instructed on how to don lifejackets. “The quarantine does not allow air travel.”
“COVID is just a bad cold.” he continued. “Remember, your captain told you that you will be quarantined for 10 days with no possibility of flying out if you test positive for COVID.”
Don’t test. Don’t test. Don’t test… people in the family groups whispered to each other. This was no MAGA crowd of vaccine-deniers; the vacationers on the US-flagged ship were mainly over-educated coasties like us as far as I could tell. As much as they were looking forward to seeing a different part of the world, they didn’t want to be stuck there, perhaps in an inferior hotel.
“You should take normal precautions against infectious disease, “the ship’s doctor said. “Wash your hands often. Use the hand sanitizers which are deployed around the ship. Cover up if you cough.” No mention of masks nor any visible supply of them. Nothing about staying in your cabin if you feel sick. And certainly no mention or sign of COVID test kits.
None of us had symptoms so I don’t know whether we would have insisted on testing if we did. Quite possibly not; we all had plans after the trip. Mary and I would have had a real dilemma (beside the ethics of possibly infecting other people) because we’re old enough so that COVID is not just a cold and we should get Paxlovid immediately if, despite our many rounds of vaccination, we are infected.
The point of this parable is that the 10-day quarantine rule, at least since we’ve gone from pandemic to endemic, is so strict that it’s counterproductive. It discourages people from testing and then taking reasonable steps if they’re infected with COVID or something else. Rules aimed at eliminating rather than just reducing risk are often riskier than the danger they seek to avoid.

Mr. Evslun you disappoint me. You would help but reference the MAGA crowd in a derogatory way. The reality is that many people questioned the validity of the PCR test. The inventor of the test came out publicly and stated that the PCR test was a laboratory test never meant to be used to detect a virus, and if it were to be used, the test PCR shouldn’t be set any higher than 24 magnifications or the result will be 99 perfect false positives because the test is so sensitive that it picks up fragments of dead viruses. The CDC had the magnification cycle set to over 40.
I read the PCR test documents that went out to the medical community. The PCR included genetic samples of everything imaginable respiratory illness including the flu and cold. The average person, like yourself, did not put the time and energy into understanding the technology. Instead, the uneducated choose to demoralize and belittle the concerns of the people who did.
If you need more proof go to the Vermont site that tracks flu numbers. I checked this site one to two years ago and you will see that the flu disappeared during COVID-19.

When all this started I had a long list of medical, news and free information in volume about the tests, the coof and so on.
The powers that be have made it so that only PAYING customers can see the truth about how DANDEROUS the tests are in some cases..

I only will tell you to try and look for yourself. The info and if someone has a paid membership to any papers please note that it is a quote and paste the info for all to see. I included the preceding (first one only) as a “busted ” link that must be paid for to read. The tests lie and covid is a lie. Do not believe the MSM over this nor anyone that believes in this propaganda because that is all it is.
God made us able to fight things with our bodies and our minds . For a change please use both.
Since this plandemic started I and my wife have never been tested, never wore a mask, and most of all, did not do any of the mandates dicktated by the gubment . Never got sick, never got tested never never never.

Here’s another reason not to take the PCR test – it is not to be trusted. In 2021 I exchanged several emails with the Vermont Health Department in which I repeatedly asked the Vermont health authorities for information about the PCR test and the CT values (look it up) used in Vermont. They refused to answer my question about the CT values used in the testing in Vermont except to quote the CDC:
“Currently, the CDC and the APHL [Association of Public Health Laboratories] do not recommend a standard for Ct values. We do not provide Ct values to patients and providers because it would not provide added value or change our recommended course of action. A positive result requires isolation in almost all cases and a close contact is recommended to quarantine.”
I responded:
Everything I have read indicates that when a CT value is too high (over 35?) a PCR test is unreliable. Your answer (from “higher headquarters”?) says VDH does not provide CT values because such information would not “provide added value” whatever that means. With all due respect, I’ll be the judge of whether it provides added value. Furthermore, even if it doesn’t “provide added value” in someone’s opinion, I hereby repeat my request.
The VDH final response – “I’m sorry but I have already shared all the information available and have nothing more to offer. Perhaps you could try contacting testing laboratories on your own?”
Mr. Evslin’s commentary seems the almost incoherent, ramblings of an old man, not quite sure of what to think- or he’s sharp and challenging our memory.
Evslin was a loud voice for mandatory vaccination (VDC, 18 & 22 Oct. 2021)a proponent of state and federal lockdowns during the SARS-CoV2 plandemic. He made a sheepish kind-of apology (VDC May 6 2022) and now this musing, that seems just more finger-pointing.
Mr Evslin, you were adamant in 2020 and 2021. that the WHO and saint anthony fauci would lead us to the golden land, when in reality the only gold was what fauci,
pfizer, moderna and the WHO could extract from the US taxpayer to line their pockets. A presidential election was manipulated and Vermont’s voting system irrevocably, negatively altered because of the fear and panic spread by media, politicians and pharmaceutical manufacturers for their individual gains.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans died because of the political and social reaction to SARS-CoV2.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans continue to suffer because of the rushed “vaccine”.
SARS-CoV2 was a tool used by many to alter the status quo and will continue to be one of many contrived, manipulated events used to control and turn the United States into a totalitarian state.
And yet, here you are again- to remind us just how foolish and naive “we” are to continue to buy into the false premise that “government will take care of us”.
Good stuff, Frank, but I hope you are not correct about “irrevocably” when you say, “Vermont’s voting system irrevocably, negatively altered.” We need to rebuild confidence in Vermont elections. For reference see Building Confidence in U.S. Elections, Report of the Commission on Federal Election Reform (September 2005). Many Vermont voters do not trust the results of our current voting system. We need to get back to voting day not voting season, permit absentee ballots only upon request, stop mailing out ballots to every voter on the checklist; ditch the so-called “secure ballot drop boxes” (one can drop off up to 25 ballots 43 days before the General election, in the middle of the night; since the drop box in Barre is in the parking lot in view of the clerk’s office, no constant surveillance – video or otherwise – is required) and ditch the tabulators and count the votes by hand (France can do it) and require identification at the polls. We should not give up on these issues. I realize we need to change the legislature or otherwise convince a majority, which is not likely, but I would not like to concede “irrevocably.” Of course, we can always move to another state.

I’d rather be a vaccine denier than a big-pharma junkie. Could it be the real problem are the addicts who deny their own body’s ability to heal itself, natural immunity, herd immunity, basic vitamins and minerals, and healthy lifestyle choices?
Beyond the Stockholm Syndrome that many suffer due to the plandemic, the worst of the lot are the investors in big pharma who profit from crimes against humanity. What’s in your stock portfolio? Remdesivir killed – Ivermectin saved, yet which one was denied, censored, and mocked? The Truth is all ready out. Good luck with that recommended, self-inflicted poisoning of your own body. I’m sure your kidneys and liver will respond accordingly.
Some people have too much riding (read:ego) on the recent past and cannot abandoned their previous rhetoric and tenets.
I’ve been saying the same basic comments that are now being “discovered” since day March of 2020.
1. Masks are spit guards, they will not prevent the transmission of a virus. Especially after 7-10 minutes of wear time.
2. It is a coronavirius. I cannot write out all that this entails. But it was and remains a coronavirus that was only truly dangerous to a certain set of people for a short period of time before it mutated. This was apparent to a great many scientists and healthcare providers by early April 2020 or earlier but they were effectively silenced.
3. The tests were not accurate and the treatments were not very effective. I will not discuss the irreparable harm the mRNA treatment (that was called a vaccine) has done to the people of this planet. No one should take any medication or treatment until they are fully informed of all the facts. None were provided and my own physician continues to push the “vaccine” and “boosters”.
There should never again be the atmosphere that persisted for over 3 years regarding the inability to ask questions and expect your civil rights to be legally maintained.

Ask your doctor what incentives he/she reaping from their drug dealers? New golf clubs? A cruise to the Bahamas? Or is the directive given to them by their Masters (CEO’s of UVM Health or Dartmouth) fill the poke quota or lose your job/license/tenure/bonus/pension? Being complicit to crimes against humanity isn’t going bode well going forward for those who went along to get along.
