Drag Queen Story Time coming to Lyndonville library, local resistance forms

A national organization based out of Massachusetts called MassResistance, which focuses on helping communities respond when a drag queen story hour comes to town, may be coming to the Cobleigh Library in Lyndonville.

They would be coming to support local resistance to a drag queen story hour currently scheduled at the library for this Saturday.

Karen Marie Van Wyk, the National Organizational Coordinator for MassResistance.com, spoke with VDC by phone on Monday. She said initially the effort is to pressure for the event to cancel. If the event goes on, sometimes there will be a peaceful demonstration.

“The librarians if you noticed, they are making it their agenda in the library to push that [ideology] and the taxpayers don’t want that there,” Van Wyk said.

She said her organization works with local communities to get regular citizens who are upset about political indoctrination at schools to engage with the school boards and get the policy changes they want.

“Nobody knows what to do to stop it,” she said. “We come in to help people strategize.”

She said her organization has stopped such events already. What sometimes happens is there will be a sudden announcement citing an alleged safety hazard and the event will be canceled.

In some cases, they go on despite local calls to cancel the show.

After communicating with some of the locals she determined that it seems like people there are generally not OK with the event, but they mostly don’t wish to publicly intervene.

“Generally speaking, everyone in the town doesn’t want it,” she said. “Libraries need to just be about libraries.”

She continued that conservatives who don’t want to see these events need to take action and at times, be aggressive.

“Sleepy conservatives need help to understand how to stop it, and you do need to be aggressive,” she said.

Those who want to preview the show can watch a clip here. It’s of Emoji Nightmare in Chester. Nightmare has been touring regional libraries for years including on at least one occasion the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier and there was very little public resistance.

Van Wyk says it’s not “banning” books or performers when the community decides that certain material isn’t the best fit for public libraries with young children.

“Have we come this low? These are children,” she said.

She also noted when these events occur, it is often times it’s visitors from outside the local community that fill much of the seating.

“Most of them aren’t even in the community… and they bring their children,” she said.

According to Nightmare’s website bio, “Emoji Nightmare (Justin Marsh) has been performing across Vermont and the region since 2015 and is one of the state’s leading drag entertainers. She has hosted, performed in, and/or produced several major events over the past decade, including New Queers Eve, Pride Ball, First Friday, Glitter & Duct Tape, The Vermont Pride Festival, Paint: A Drag Cabaret, Queen City Drag Cabaret, Queer Pop-Up Dance Party, and SASS.”

It continues that the local media has been celebrating Nightmare’s work. The bio says, “She is a frequent guest on Amber Live! and a multi-year nominee for Seven Days’ annual Daysies Awards for Best Drag Performer in Vermont.”

And they have a show on Vermont Community Access Media.

The bio states, “The series included some high-profile guests, including former Governor Madeleine Kunin. The two founded the Vermont Chapter of Drag Story Hour in September [2017]. They begin hosting and producing New Queers Eve that December.”

Vermont Lieutenant Governor David Zuckerman has been doing a “banned” book story time across the state. Some of the books include Gender Queer, Lawn Boy, Kite Runner, Beloved, and more.

  1. Is it really so hard to understand that a drag event of any kind is a SEXUALIZED performance akin to a pole dance at a strip club? We dont allow children in strip clubs and heck, we dont even allow strip clubs in Vermont so WHY WOULD WE ALLOW THIS? Libraries have turned into nothing but marxist indoctrination centers. Did Lt Gov. Ponytail read from Tom Sawyer or Dr. Seuss on his ridiculous non-comprehensive banned book tour?

    • This is another example of Astro Turfing Vermont. Just like the recent campus protests where all the college students, coincidentally bought the same tents. Completely manufactured outside of our state.

Both of these are part of a color revolution or subversion of our state and country. These are planned out orchestrated events. How was it within 6 months, there were suddenly DQSH across the entire united states? And it’s on going……because of popular demand? Of course not. It’s indoctrination.

Yuri Bezmanov a KGB agent in charge of subverting India explained, “We try to get people confused about their sexuality” At the time I thought, what a dumb idea, how could that every happen.

It was not by chance that across the entire internet, during the lock down, suddenly interfamilial porn was rampant, and still is. This is part of the subversion process to break down interfamilial relations in a most perverse way by suggesting this is normal sexual activity on all the porn sites. Nobody seems to want to talk about it, it’s not a coincidence, just like DQSH.

Truth be told, humans are hypersexual, it’s much like a drug. Anthropologists suggested that it’s so strong to keep the family together until the child is an adult, it takes a long time to raise children.

The Bible teaches us that sex is for marriage, it’s a glue that keeps the marriage together and content.

When this “glue” is used indiscriminately we can get stuck to whatever the sexual pleasure comes from. It’s much like the young gosling being imprinted on whomever they see when they are first born. Below is a story about imprinting… a man and a goose…

      [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRA3LnBwzvo?si=BFzKb6P3ps1b_CJg&w=560&h=315%5D

They are imprinting our children, our society on purpose, for nefarious means along with just money. This is completely an Astro Turf, Subversive measure used in a color revolution, of which we are in the middle of.

    • You are so correct…we are dealing with this in St. Albans…this type of exposure is desensitizing a child’s instinct to determine what is unsafe…this is stupid.

  2. Wanna dress in drag? Have at it! Please do not expose CHILDREN to this cringey creepiness.
John Gacy was ahead of his time. 🤡

  3. The question at the crux of the matter is, should pubic tax monies go to host or fund this type of event? A public library is funded by tax money, it is public and open to scrutiny. Performances of this type, which are clearly controversial can be moved to private venues – then the question is no longer about tax payer monies funding this, the question is then solely about the ethics. Those who oppose should focus on the appropriateness of this type of event at a public library- if enough locals are opposed then the library should listen- it is the locals funding the library after all.

  4. Parents take your kids out of these schools, liberals are indoctrinating your children, they know young minds are easy to manipulate and these “fruitcakes ” and that’s being kind, they won’t post what I want to say, they want to show kids that their way of life is normal, we all know it’s anything but normal………………

Freaks of nature, or just freaks, Wake up people !!

    • CHenry
It’s a town library. However, if parents are against it they definitely should not bring their kids!!

  5. Why is it so imperative for grown men to dress as women in front of children? It’s called grooming. They are coming after the children and some folks are so blinded by the latest political correctness strategy that they can’t see it. This is all proof that we are waging a spiritual battle.

  6. Why do mature, gay men wish to surround themselves with young children? Nothing about this benefits literacy.

If literacy was the goal, how about reading from the works of Dickens, Poe, Twain, Shakespeare, Melville or Verne, as one of the characters in period dress? Make the pages come alive!

But NO! Let’s call this for what it is, indoctrination in sexual deviancy abetted by bitter, men-hating, single mothers. Nothing good can come from this. Proverbs 2:10

    • Just like 95% of those who call themselves non-binary or transgendered, they get their jollies by exposing their predilections to others, and seeing the general reaction.

  7. “But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me-it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea! Matthew 18:6

  8. MORE EVIDENCE THAT OUR STATE HAS GONE DOWN THE PROVERBIAL TUBES…

  9. Drag queens are an unlovely caricature of the Divine Feminine. There is no valid reason to expose this to children. So what is really behind it? Please wake up, Vermonters.

  10. IT IS ALSO COMING TO A FEW OTHER SETTINGS, TOO.

    Drag Story Hour: Montpelier

Saturday, May 18, 2024, 1:00 PM 2:00 PM, Christ Episcopal Church

Drag Story Hour: Essex Junction (Essex Pride)

    Drag Story Hour: Saint Albans

Saturday, June 8, 2024, 11:00 AM 12:00 PM, St Albans Free Library

    Drag Story Hour: Hyde Park

Saturday, June 8, 2024, 2:00 PM 3:00 PM, Lanpher Memorial Library

    Drag Story Hour: Dorset

    Drag Story Hour: Bristol

    Drag Story Hour: Craftsbury

Sunday, July 7, 2024, 11:00 AM 12:00 PM, Craftsbury Public Library

    • It’s bad enough they take place in a Library or park, but in a supposedly Christian Church? What is wrong with those Episcopalians?

  11. It is shocking to me the number of folks who are ok with their kids choosing queer or transgendered lifestyles. Therapy is available such as that provided by Dr David Pickup. But Vermont has chosen to outlaw such therapy for minors even though some approaches are very effective. But then, as noted by several contributors above, there is the willful choice of spiritual corruption.

  12. You can’t convince anyone they’re wrong unless you can speak in their own language, use their own reasoning to show they are wrong. Defying your reasoning would be defying THEIR reasoning, so they tend not to. Women’s Groups need to officially equate this to a women-mocking form of blackface. Make the Left chase their own tail.

  13. What the heck is wrong with your library, allowing this garbage?

  14. One Thing I Agree About – “THIS IS A NIGHTMARE for Parents and Children Alike !

  15. If it was just about reading, then any random competent adult (or better, an actual teacher) would be fine. But, of course, it’s not about strictly about reading, it’s about an agenda. If it’s not, then why the drag costume? And why is it that drag performers are almost invariably male?

In the end, it’s less about the fact that drag performers want to read than it is that they crave an audience of CHILDREN.

  16. Drag wasn’t always a means for grooming children (it surely is now), but it has always been a degrading caricature of womanhood. Are there any plans to stage an informational picket?

    • Hey, good to see you here ! What happened to the citations you got for vandalizing street signs in Burlington ? What was the final disposition of that case ?

    • Drag should not be in libraries or churches and not for children. It’s a theatrical thing that should be kept in adult theatres away from children in tiny towns. As a woman, it is a bit offensive to me. Like they are making fun of us. how over the top the costumes are seems to ridicule females clothing and makeup. If not a professional, for theatre, many of these men are scary and ugly in drag. Men with beards and women’s clothing and make up even creepier to me.

  17. Why would a drag queen want to read to kids ?
Is the drag grooming the kids ?Are the parents grooming their own kid ?
Say no more to your local libraries funded with local money. Someone has to standup for the kids .

  18. A man’s sexual preference cannot be determined because they dress in drag. They could be straight, gay or anyone of the hundred or so options out there. This is because dressing in drag is not a sexual preference. It is a sexual fetish. Grown men get off doing it and many people, ignorant of this fact, are allowing their children to be used for the sick sexual pleasure of adult men. I hate to be so blunt, but DQSH must be understood for what it is, a pedophilic behavior. They are many drag queens that are very much against DQSH and countless members of the gay and lesbian society want this abuse stopped as well.

The screen shot for the title of this article was taken from a YouTube video where Justin Marsh masturbates on the hood of a tractor. Perhaps if our legislators had taken the time to watch some of Marsh’s YouTube videos they might not have invited him to do the morning invocation at our state house.

Taylor Small, (drag name Niki Champagne), a man pretending to be a woman, is a Vermont legislator out of Chittenden county, who performs in DQSH as well . I’ve seen pictures of Marsh and Small that are less then appropriate for children. These men need to be put in their place which is not a story hour at the public library

    • It is not just men who are stalking and preying upon children. Check this out from New York: “A defiant French teacher is still in the classroom after being fired by the Department of Education — crowing that the city “can’t touch me” despite the sexually-charged accusations that got her sacked, including making nearly 30,000 late-night texts to a schoolgirl.
Dulaina Almonte, 33, lost her job at Harry S. Truman High School in The Bronx in 2020 after the Special Commissioner of Investigation substantiated claims of her creepy behavior with teens. “I can’t be guilty if I’m still a teacher,” Almonte — who now teaches at a Bronx charter school — boasted to The Post this week.”

      Are the millstones ready?

  19. I’d like to add to my comment above.
I have no problem with anyone coming to read at a public library. But please dress appropriately. Mr. Rodgers encouraged kids to love themselves and others. He did it with a sweater and sneakers. Drag is a dark world , filled with drugs and perverted sex. No place to teach life lessons to innocent children.

  20. Do kilts count? Also, does this mean that a woman wearing pants is in drag? In the medieval period the garment we call a “dress” was certainly not a female-only affair.

The problem is that they are TRYING to subvert societal norms for a reaction. They are putting on a spectacle of fleeing from reality. And they feel entitled to an audience. They are not demons, but they are certainly deceived by a diabolic message.
