Pentagon Prepares Bases for 90 Days Without Civilian Power or Supplies | 25 Oct 2026 | The Pentagon is preparing U.S. military bases to keep operating for at least 90 days without outside support as it prepares for the possibility of a major war that could cripple power grids, disrupt supply chains and threaten critical infrastructure on American soil. The new requirement is part of FORTRESS, a broader military initiative aimed at ensuring American forces can continue fighting even if the civilian systems they depend on are disrupted, according to documents reviewed by Fox News Digital. The Pentagon is also laying the groundwork for civilian factories to shift to defense production during a crisis, while preparing alternative supply chains and strategic reserves to keep weapons, fuel and other essential materials flowing. Under FORTRESS, every major military installation in the continental United States would be expected to sustain essential operations independently for at least 90 days, including access to electricity, water, fuel and communications.

Defence Secretary urges British public to be ready for war within 1,000 days –Wes Streeting said preparing the country for conflict was now his “defining priority,” as the Defence Secretary warns Britain must be ready to fight and win a war before 2030 | 26 Oct 2026 | Britain must be braced to go to war within 1,000 days due to Russia’s growing military capacity, the Defence Secretary has warned. The UK has three years to improve its defences alongside NATO allies, Wes Streeting says, because adversaries will be ready to attack by 2030. The threat of “state-sponsored terrorism” by hostile countries could target our infrastructure is ever-increasing, he said. His alert comes following the launch of the Government’s Be Ready campaign, enabling Brits to get through a national emergency as Prime Minister Andy Burnham said unexpected events “are becoming more common”

Rubio says Ukraine attacked ships carrying U.S.-owned oil, demands Zelensky bring ‘an end to this war’ | 19 Oct 2026 | Secretary of State Marco Rubio blasted Ukrainian Dictator Volodymyr Zelensky for suggesting that the U.S. has been cutting off critical intelligence warnings of incoming Russian ballistic missile attacks… One source suggested Ukraine is blame-casting for something that could have gone wrong on their end, while another said Zelensky’s heated comments have not been helpful. In a recent interview with Breitbart, Rubio also accused Ukraine of striking American energy ships in the Black Sea. “We have seen strikes on energy vessels in the Black Sea. And there’s been complaints, a lot, because we have American companies calling us and saying, ‘Hey, that was our oil on that ship that was hit by Ukraine,'” Rubio told Breitbart in an interview released Sunday.

3 dead in Ukrainian drone raid on Russian city – governor | 26 Oct 2026 | Three people have been killed and 39 others injured, including a child, in a Ukrainian overnight drone raid on the southern Russian city of Voronezh, Governor Aleksandr Gusev has reported. Most of the victims in the attack come from a single apartment block that was hit by a downed drone, the official said on Monday morning. Three of the injured people are in serious condition, he added. Gusev said regional air defenses engaged 113 targets overnight, including 70 drones that were intercepted over the city. A similar large-scale Ukrainian drone raid on Belgorod over the weekend killed two civilians and left 13 others wounded.

Oil price rises above $117 a barrel amid fears U.S. will renew strikes on Iran | 23 Oct 2026 | Oil has hit its highest level in more than six months as fears of fresh escalation in the Middle East conflict grip the energy markets. Brent crude, the international benchmark for oil, rose by about 3.5% on Friday to pass 117 a barrel at one point — its highest level since April. The jump came after Tehran said it would attack oil facilities, undersea cables, datacentres and AI facilities in the Gulf region if a new U.S.-Israeli offensive was launched against Iran. Tensions in the region have been rising this week and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps claimed to have struck four commercial ships in the strait of Hormuz on Wednesday.

Thousands protest against Netanyahu ahead of Israeli election –The organizers have claimed that more than 100,000 took part in a rally in Tel-Aviv | 25 Oct 2026 | A major protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken place in Tel-Aviv just days ahead of the Israeli parliamentary election on October 27. A square outside the Museum of Art in the country’s largest city was packed on Saturday evening, with the demonstrators holding national flags and banners, reading “Change will come,” “No more Mr. Far Right Guy” and other slogans. The organizers of the gathering from the October Council group put the attendance at over 100,000. The police have yet to announce official figures… Reports in the U.S. and local media claimed that the prime minister ignored warnings of the planned attack by Hamas he had received from various sources, including Israeli intelligence and the UAE and Egypt.

Trump says Netanyahu needs to be re-elected, or else U.S. will have to ‘finish the job’ against Iran alone | 18 Oct 2026 | President Donald Trump is supporting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party in the Oct. 27 Knesset elections, urging Israel voters to pick the man he called a “great warrior” and U.S. “partner for peace” amid the multi-front war on Iran and its nuclear weapons aspirations. “I have watched Bibi under the most trying of times,” Trump wrote Sunday morning in a full-throated endorsement of the Likud leader. “This is the kind of Partner that the United States of America is demanding of Israel, a Country for which it has done so much,” Trump added. “Please let this Letter serve to represent my Complete and Total Endorsement of Bibi Netanyahu in his upcoming Race for Re-election as Prime Minister of Israel. If Israel has the wrong leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so,” Trump wrote.

AIPAC to end candidate endorsements, PAC contributions to allies | 21 Oct 2026 | AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) announced on Wednesday that, after three cycles of direct political involvement through its political action committee AIPAC PAC, it will no longer issue endorsements or directly earmark contributions to candidates, but said it will remain involved in political organizing and fundraising in other ways, including with its influential super PAC. The decision is a striking turnabout just five years after the group first launched its PAC and super PAC and began directly endorsing and fundraising for candidates. The United Democracy Project super PAC, which launched alongside AIPAC’s PAC in 2021 and has spent tens of millions across numerous races, will continue its engagement. Previously, earmarked donations made to candidates through AIPAC’s portal would show up on candidates’ fundraising reports as donated by the individual through AIPAC.

Flight from Tel Aviv to Vienna makes emergency landing after bomb threat | 18 Oct 2026 | A flight from Tel Aviv has made an emergency landing in Bulgaria after a bomb threat. The A320 aircraft, which was flying from Tel Aviv to Vienna, was diverted to land in Sofia due to what Bulgaria’s Ministry of Transport and Communications described as a “bomb threat signal.” According to information seen on FlightRadar24, the Austrian Airlines flight OS82 was diverted to Sofia and landed at 9.25pm UTC (10.25pm in the UK). The ministry said that initial information held that there were six crew members and 51 passengers on board. “During the flight, on the border with Romania, the crew reported a bomb threat signal and decided to land in Sofia extraordinarily,” it added.

Nearly 1,000 arrested as France deploys 70,000 police amid nationwide unrest | 24 Oct 2026 | Nearly 1,000 people were arrested Saturday as nationwide protests resumed, French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez told reporters. The unrest has spread beyond France, with violent clashes breaking out in Rome and Albania’s capital of Tiranë, where demonstrators set government buildings on fire. President Donald Trump also weighed in Saturday, pointing to the turmoil in France as a warning about what he said could happen in the United States under left-wing leadership. Central Paris resembled a city under lockdown as shopkeepers boarded up storefronts, museums closed and more than 20 metro stations suspended service.

Nigeria confirms Ebola case as outbreak continues to spread | 21 Oct 2026 | Nigeria has recorded its first case of Ebola during the current outbreak, the country’s health ministry has said — as the virus continues to spread internationally. The ministry said a woman had been diagnosed with the virus in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, after travelling from Uganda, which recorded a number of cases earlier this year but has since declared itself free of the virus. Muhammad Pate, Nigeria’s health minister, said the patient began showing symptoms on 7 October before being admitted to hospital where she tested positive for Ebola.

Rogue Claude AI tapped into U.S. voter data | 26 Oct 2026 | Anthropic’s Claude AI model went rogue and broke past a paywall to obtain voter data in the U.S. state of Georgia, Axios reported on Sunday. The intrusion heightens concerns about developers’ ability to control increasingly autonomous AI systems. The incident occurred during an internal statistics project involving public information. Anthropic said the model obtained aggregate voter counts but did not access Georgia’s voter registration system, retrieve individual voter records or alter any data. The company confirmed the incident on Sunday, ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

Trump immigration win could strengthen admin’s hand in looming Supreme Court fight | 25 Oct 2026 | The Trump administration scored a major full-panel victory at the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Friday, which ruled that detained illegal immigrants who were never formally admitted into the U. S. are not constitutionally entitled to bond hearings while awaiting deportation. The ruling comes as the Supreme Court prepares to hear Rhoney v. Barbosa da Cunha this term, a closely related fight over whether the federal mandatory-detention statute applies at all to longtime immigrants arrested inside the country — setting up the possibility that the justices could either undercut Friday’s ruling or strengthen the government’s hand. The Fifth Circuit answered the constitutional question in Ignacio Sosnava Rodriguez v. Sylvester M. Ortega, finding that three immigrant men detained under the mandatory-detention statute are not entitled to bond hearings under the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment.

Ilhan Omar is not the Minnesota congresswoman’s ‘real name’ – sources | 22 Oct 2026 | Ilhan Omar is not the “real name” of the Minnesota congresswoman, Fox News Digital has learned. Her real name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, according to two people familiar with the ongoing investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman, including a law enforcement source. And if proven in court that Omar has lived her “entire life under an alias,” a former Minnesota federal immigration judge tells Fox News Digital that every single form she ever filled out could be “called into question.” On Wednesday, U.S. District Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro filed a motion seeking to prevent the federal search warrant for the congresswoman’s home from being unsealed, which was requested by several media outlets. The motion says the federal government is not yet finished executing the search warrant, and that it shouldn’t be unsealed yet.

Federal probe fallout grows for Ilhan Omar as top Republican calls for jail, deportation if fraud proven | 17 Oct 2026 | The highest-ranking House lawmaker from Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home state is calling for the embattled progressive to be jailed and deported if it is found that she or her father lied on federal paperwork to get her U.S. citizenship. Omar, D-Minn., is under federal investigation over allegations that she or her father lied about her birth year on immigration paperwork in order to obtain her citizenship when her family fled Somalia in the late 1990s. Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., the No. 3 leader in the House of Representatives, told Fox News Digital that “there have been rumors for years” about Omar and, if proven true, she should face consequences. “I would say first she should probably serve time in the gray bar motel and then get the h-ll out of here. She should go back to where she came from” if the allegations are proven to be true, Emmer said.

Met should have passed on child sex abuse allegations against Thomas Markle to the FBI, former police chief says | 26 Oct 2026 | Scotland Yard risked allowing child abuse to continue for seven years by failing to alert the FBI to allegations against Thomas Markle, a former police chief says. The Metropolitan Police has admitted it did not act on a letter it received in 2019 accusing the Duchess of Sussex’s father of being a paedophile. Jim Gamble, former head of the National Crime Agency’s child exploitation command, said there is a “well-worn path” for Met detectives to share serious claims with foreign agencies. He said it was “really difficult to understand” why that path was not followed in the Markle case when the letter “indicated that children might be at risk.” Mr. Markle, 82, denies any wrongdoing.
