The Vermont State Police arrested seven anti-ICE protesters on charges of unlawful trespass Friday morning, Sept. 4, after they declined to leave a private office building in Williston.
The individuals, of whom at least six are clergy, arrested are:
Catherine Bock, 78, of Burlington
Jessica Derise, 54, of Williston
Rebecca Girrell, 47, of South Burlington
Elizabeth Gleich, 36, of Middlebury
Karen Johnston, 58, of Colchester
Earl Kooperkamp, 69, of Bradford
Susan McMillan, 65, of Colchester
These individuals were among a group of people who entered the building to protest federal agencies — including Immigration and Customs Enforcement — that occupy space there alongside private businesses and a medical office. The building owner said the individuals were trespassing, refused to leave when asked, and requested that police remove them from the property.
State police, working in conjunction with the Williston Police Department, responded and spoke with protest leaders. That discussion led to several people leaving the inside of the building, while the others indicated they’d need to be arrested.
Those individuals were taken into custody and brought to the Williston Barracks, where they were processed and released with citations to appear for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 20, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Burlington.

Alphabet “clergy”. These are not holy people.
“Judge not lest ye be judged.” IMO they are following Christ teaching way more than any of the Bible thumpers that frequent this place
And no separation of church and state?
Lol, please enlighten me on what that means and how that’s applicable here Pastor Dan.
If the roles were reversed ……
You should pray to god for a clue, Dan
Guess they prefer pedophiles, rapist and other outstanding illegals to roam our streets.
You don’t seem to mind them in the White House, so why judge?
These members of the clergy should be focusing on getting Vermonters back into attending Sunday services and prayers. I believe and correct me if I am wrong, isn’t Vermont considered the most NON RELIGIOUS state in the country. Will these same people hold memorial services in their churches on 9/11 ? I doubt it. They are just shameful. I will pray for them.🙏✝️
GEEEEE here we go again seven protesters, six female one male. the liberal majority. One looks like a guy. Yup this is religion, no church belonging mentioned. They wanted to be arrested, OK send them to Rikers Island NY for about 60 days where they can pray to “their god”.
But they feel soooo good protesting, but don’t protest the criminal element in VT. Wonder if they are looking for a free meal. Crackpots.
This isn’t moral leadership; it’s political theater led by Earl ‘Kooky’ Kooperkamp.
Watching comfortable, white activists wave rainbow flags to protest border enforcement shows exactly how disconnected this movement is from reality. A homogeneous group of liberal women showing up with rainbow flags to protest an ICE facility does absolutely nothing to solve the actual immigration crisis. All it does is hijack unrelated cultural issues for a progressive photo-op while local tax dollars fund the police response.
A clerical collar isn’t a license to bypass the law.
True compassion isn’t getting a cheap trespassing citation. Its deterring illegal channels that enrich human traffickers, cartels, and exploitative NGOs, while helping people thrive safely in their own home nations.
Why don’t the clerg ask god to remove ICE😂.
Would they protest against pornography with equal vigor?
Would they defend the teachings of Jesus with equal vigor?
Is there savior Karl Marx or Jesus Christ.
One is perfect, the other inspired by the devil and a hater of truth and love.
Do they suggest the bible is the inspired word of God?
Vermont has been subverted, by cultural marxism,
in church
in school
in government
in NGO’s
in health care
and we had an entire civil war ,a British civil war known as our Battle for Independence, along with our first settlers, all about leaving a country and religious background that had been co-opted by government forces and theocracy and we strangely find out selves in this position, once again, being a first colony of the United Nations.
When you put politics above Jesus Christ, from the left or the right, you are no longer a Christian, but a theocratic puppet, just like before, just like 2,000 years ago
Actually, we truly must salute the staggering bravery on display in Williston. It took immense courage for these comfortable white , progressive activists to don their clerical regalia, wave their rainbow flags, and march into a building that has already been protested a hundred times before, in white, progressive Vermont.
While real men and women face actual life-and-death stakes overseas, these heroes boldly confronted the unimaginable horrors of rolled eyes, heavy sighs, and perhaps even some discouraging words from local law enforcement. Truly, this is the definition of valor.
I am absolutely certain this symbolic trespassing circus is going to completely reshape federal border policy and dismantle human trafficking networks. Forget using these massive religious resources to actually support the legal, long-standing taxpayers who built this community, getting a minor citation in white Vermont is clearly a much better use of everyone’s time.
In fact, to show our deepest solidarity, we should all show up at their churches next Sunday and sit down to block their doors as a beautiful symbol of strength and unity. Let’s support their cause to raise awareness and be just as brave as they were. I know they’ll appreciate that level of courage on their own doorstep.
Amen
Stop the Democrats from stealing elections and follow the protocol of President Donald Trump. Mail in ballots are for Democratic stealing elections. Require ID when voting so illegals aren’t voting. Vermont is bearing down the wrong path because of the worthless Democrats that have pushed us in a terrible direction.
I will sleep better knowing that these bad hombres were arrested. It reminds me of a time when another one of those law breakers was arrested by law enforcement. His name was Jesus Christ.
Being old and senile does not exempt you from breaking the law. If you don’t wan t to be prosecuted, stay home! this nonsense of protesting federal laws is ridiculous. Vermont is not exempt from having illegals deported. We want them all gone. I believe people like this should be prosecuted for treason because they are technically helping in illegal, which is against the law
How many kept their congregations open, supporting the rights of their parishioners, during covid?
My guess: 0. Prove me wrong.
Are their congregations open 24-7? Do you have any proof services were disrupted? Isn’t standing up for the poor a reason to close? The proof always lies with the accuser btw.
Yes, Chris;
MY Sunday congregations were shut down.
And nobody on the entire email list of that congregation had the openness, the spirit of enquiry, or the stones to meet with me in any manner, virtually or in person, “socially distanced” (remember that?), to discuss it, or to even respond to my polite email inquiries.
Craven virtue signalers, all.
And Chris, I’m sorry that such is the state of your life that you’re drawn to rage comment after midnight on the Friday night of a holiday weekend. Or maybe you’re just working the swing shift with John K…
Tyler, I’m sorry that you’re so pathetic that you need to attack a time stamp. I’ll pray for your soul.
I wonder if they held a candlelight service for all the victims that were murdered by illegals?
In another week, with the 25th Anniversary of 9-11-11,. we will be facing the horrid fact that there are people in this world that hate the USA and also hate our current President. 25 years ago we were attacked from within, with sabotage of three airplanes, leading to the deaths of many American. Everyone, especially these elder protesters, should remember the horror and sorrow of viewing that event as I do. The people who did this obtained entry into our Country and their plan was accomplished. The open borders of the past administration was a welcome mat for our enemies to enter our country without permission or vetting. Seeing these anti-ICE people, and knowing that they are working against the law and the safety of US citizens is very destressing to me. We all need to pray that nothing happens on this anniversary due to negligence and support for these illegal entrants.
Amen! And pray that the scales fall from Vermonters’ eyes.
Protesting is fine. But illegal protests, in my opinion, makes the protesters look like idiots and pisses a lot of people off. As Tommy Shaw wrote “too much time on my (their) hands.”
Yea, you’re right, they look like idiots
It appears none of these so called “clergy” were born and raised in Vermont. Most have been here less than 10 years with one appearing to move here only last year. They are not Vermonters, but “NEW” Vermonters (nice way of saying flatlanders). My message to them as a group would be to move back to where they came from and preach and save the people there. Vermont has too many of these people already.
Welcome to Vermont, now go home. Yes, Vermont is the least churched state, but that will all change hopefully. At least that is the prayers of true Christians. I find it very disturbing that these people use the collar to protest. The teachings of Jesus Christ are totally opposite. I don’t mind people who want to come into this country to find a better life, but they need to do it the right way and go through the process. The ones that come in illegally and want all the rights of a citizen is absurd. That is what these people are protesting about. They say that everyone has rights including illegals. They say something about everyone should have due process. So, the bottom line is, come here legally and have all the rights of US citizens, come here illegally, then there is the door, don’t let it hit you in the backside as you exit.
Absolutely. My parents and grandparents came through Ellis Island in the 1930’s. They knew what fascism was. If these “clergy” also knew, they’d understand that that is what they are truly supporting.
Seven false profits.
During the 1930s, the KKK was quite active throughout Vermont which included a huge rally in Barre. dressed in their hooded robes. A similar spirit of fear, hatred, and racism is alive and well in present day Vermont.
Yes;
It’s called “planned parenthood”.
Krowinski was the Speaker for a reason.
lol…..pretty good, cause it’s so accurate.
I bet all seven have stronger convictions and willingness to express their faith and love in planned parenthood, over Jesus Christ or the bible. Are any of them out speaking about the ills of crime, theft, pornography, about the fallen nature of man’s heart? Or are they more concerned with political activities, protesting (obviously), following the dictates of cultural marxism over bible and Jesus?
During covid it exposed many churches for being more political than followers of Jesus. The political party and ideology during covid surpassed the worship and teachings of Christ. On church/or group within the church would say, oh they are those people who don’t wear masks. The other group/church would say oh those are mask people, double mask people. So, everyone was identifying their political opinions over we are a Christ following church, it’s ok to have differing opinions. No, it was how you were classified.
How many of them profess to be organizers? That’s pretty revealing. Jesus taught us to obey the laws, even ones we disagreed with. He gave the most compelling example, an innocent man, the only innocent man to walk this earth and he was crucified by a cadre of people that were truly lost and in quest for power. Following and influenced by the wrong spirit, not the Holy Spirit, much of that is alive and well in Vermont.
Do people even know Jesus? Do they even know the Holy Spirit?
Me thinks there is much work to do in the Green Mountains.
May God bless those and may the Holy Spirit guide us to do Jesus will. I ask in the name of Jesus Christ, KING of kings….may he be our king in Vermont and United States. Amen. Yes Kings!!!
