A vehicle fire in the drive-through lane at a McDonald’s restaurant in Randolph forced an evacuation and temporarily shut down the business Monday morning, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers said the incident occurred at about 10 AM at the McDonald’s on Vermont Route 66. A vehicle waiting in the drive-through caught fire, but the operator was able to get out before the car became fully engulfed in flames.
Because of the vehicle’s proximity to the building, a small portion of the restaurant also caught fire, prompting customers and employees to evacuate.
Multiple fire departments responded and quickly brought the blaze under control. No injuries were reported.
The restaurant will remain closed until further notice. The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
