Vermont voters in Caledonia, Chittenden, Windham, and Windsor counties are invited to watch two upcoming candidate forums presented by Policy for The People. These virtual events will be hosted live in partnership with Town Meeting TV and will be made available via Youtube.

According to organizer Jac Posey, these conversations bring together candidates from three different parties, offering voters a unique opportunity to hear directly from individuals seeking public office in the 2026 election cycle. Featured participants include candidates for statewide and legislative offices, including Lieutenant Governor, the Vermont Senate, and the Vermont House of Representatives. All are Vermonters of color.

Thursday, July 9 at Noon:

Incumbent Representative Emily Carris Duncan, Windham-6 House District (Democrat)

Incumbent Senator Joseph “Joe” Major, Windsor District (Democrat)

Ali Dieng, Candidate for House District Chittenden-18 (Democrat)

Friday, July 10 at 5 PM:
Incumbent Representative Golrang “Rey” Garofano, House District Chittenden-23 (Democrat)

Esther Charlestin, Candidate for Lieutenant Governor (Democrat)

Brandolyn Bradley, Candidate for the Caledonia-Essex House District (Independent)

Javen Sears, Candidate for Vermont State Senate Chittenden-Southeast District (Republican)

Their aggregate professional experience spans across multiple fields, including healthcare, education, family services, nonprofit service, and military affairs.

Exhibiting the breadth of their knowledge and experience, each forum will cover affordability, housing, education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. Attendees will gain firsthand insight into how candidates from different political parties and life experiences propose to address the challenges and opportunities facing the state.
