South End resident and tech consultant CD Mattison Monday announced she will run for mayor of Burlington. That makes three Democrats (including City Councilors Joan Shannon and Karen Paul) so far who will seek the nomination at the Democratic Caucus December 10.
The winner will face Progressive Emma Mulvaney-Stanak at the City Meeting on the first Tuesday in March. Incumbent Miro Weinberger announced earlier this year he will not run for re-election.
In a Facebook campaign statement, Mattison stressed the importance of attending the caucus. “Out of a population of 42,000, fewer than 2,000 will determine the Democratic candidate for mayor,” she said.

Tough choice, left, further left or way out there left………………..
Here’s your chance Republicans, register for this caucus and get the easiest candidate to beat to take the win. They do this to the Republicans all the time.
Also, shouldn’t the progressives have to stand out on their own and their own party? Why do the progressives get to have people in on the Democratic nominee? This seems to admit that the progressive party is part of the Democratic party.
Lastly, there is no such thing as a software based secure election system.
Let’s see if Burlington voters have learned anything about liberal politics, with all the toxic programs they support, that have destroyed ” The Queen City ” and turned it into its current state ” The Cesspool City ” Don’t believe me, just walk around the downtown area anytime any day !!
Wake up people, they only care about their agenda, your concerns are irrelevant, they only understand when you vote them out…………………………………
Brian is correct. And you should also vote for the worst Dem candidate during the Primaries next year. Stop wasting your primary season votes on your own party.
The left’s journey has revealed truths to them. Their mission to enlightened us is …well less than successful. We aren’t likely to be convinced. Their view of the good society is one managed by an administrative state. So their agenda items for what needs correcting in our errant lives has become their campaign song. Managing the unconvinced with majority rule has become the purpose of government. This world view unites all 4 of these candidates. Their only differences are which of their agenda items they’ll impose on us. Which of their special interest groups makes the most noise? The idea that “citizens will generate consensus for what they want…in the mean time leave them alone”, is just not on their horizon.
Come on…someone step up to the plate!! We can’t take anymore of the Dem’s & Lib’s nonsense!!
If not you then who?
Not one, not two, but three Democratic/Progressive candidates for Burlington Mayor. Let’s call them, The Three Stooges to simplify who really wants the office in City Hall. All were eager to defend the Police. All were eager to establish DEI in the schools, and eager to be soft on crime. What is Burlington getting ? The same platform that is already there. WHY because there is no opposition to the Democratic/Progressive agenda; just 3 different faces.
WHERE ARE THE GOP. Somebody has to have ideas that fix what they broke !
Fair and secure elections – here’s your sign: “Participation and voting will be hybrid, offering both an in-person and virtual options. The virtual vote will be administered using a secure, reputable voting platform. Eligible voters will receive a virtual ballot at the email address listed on this form when Caucus voting opens on December 10. All voting will be done by secret ballot.”
Considering what went down in Bridgeport, CT and the recent Georgia court ruling regarding the “machines,” I wonder which candidate will cry foul in defeat and wage lawfare warfare on their brothern? Or, has it all ready been agreed upon who will prevail and who will get a appointed department heads?
Considering the incoming economic implosion, anyone selected captain of the Burlington Titanic will go down with the ship right into the open sewer known as Lake Champlain. Fitting.
Strange, but when I read this story I couldn’t shake the image of the Three Stooges…
Watching those “student voices” summarizing Miro’s “accomplishments” was painful. Reporting the news is now shallow and selective, aka fake news. That video is proof positive they’re learning this garbage at an early age.
