February 2, Amanda Conant ( 32, from Randolph) was arrested for the robbery of Convenience Plus, a Main Street, Northfield store, Northfield police report.
On November 2, 2022 Northfield Police were dispatched to the report of a robbery at Convenience Plus. Police were told by the cashier that the robbery was committed by a female in a green hooded sweatshirt, approximately 5′ 03″, medium build, with the hood pulled tightly around her face and a bandana over her face. The money taken was approximately $860.
Later, during another investigation, Det. Tucker developed information that Conant had committed the robbery. Conant was arrested due to several other warrants and brought to the Chittenden County Correctional Facility for lack of bail. She was cited to appear in court this week.
This isn’t Conant’s first run-in with the law.
She was arrested on drug charges in July, 2022 in connection with a federal drug raid on a Roxbury home. A stolen 4-wheeler and plow also were discovered during the raid.
As reported by Vermont State Police, Conant was involved in a self-styled ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ car theft in May 21 2021: “The vehicle had been spray-painted red, had its catalytic converter removed and the vehicle registration had been replaced with improper registration plates. The words “Bonnie & Clyde 2021” were observed to have been spray-painted on the vehicle’s hood.”
