An affidavit filed in a Washington D.C. court appears to describe how the Young Republicans chat on Telegram, covered by Politico October 14, was obtained. Michael Bartels, a national Young Republican leader, says he was threatened with loss of professional standing if he didn’t turn them over to Gavin Wax, a State Dept. official and Young Republican leader.
