107 MPH in Berkshire / inmate suicide

A Franklin man was stopped by state police after driving 107 MPH on Rte. 105. 

On Monday at 9:30 pm, a state trooper was monitoring traffic on Route 105 in Berkshire when they observed a vehicle traveling at 107 mph in a 50 mph zone. Eric Domina, 24, of Franklin was issued a citation to appear in court May 2. He also was issued a Vermont civil violation complaint for speeding.

St. Albans man found dead in St. J prison – Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at Northeast Regional Correctional Center.

Police say the inmate has been identified as 29-year-old Dustin Dunkling, of St. Albans.

Dunkling was found unresponsive in his cell at around 10:10 p.m. yesterday. He was provided with immediate medical attention but later pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigation indicates Dunkling was alone in his cell and died by suicide.

An autopsy is pending at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington to confirm the cause and manner of death. Police say the death is not considered suspicious at this time.
