A Milton man has been indicted by federal authorities for helping his lover, Angela Auclair and her son acquire the gun they used to kill Auclair’s husband David Auclair in Hinesburg in 2019.
John Turner, 53, of Milton, was indicted on federal charges alleging that Turner conspired with others in July 2019 to possess stolen firearms, according to a U.S. Attorney’s office statement. He was arrested on those charges and arraigned on the indictment last week on July 17. He was released on conditions. If convicted, Turner faces a maximum possible penalty of 20 years in prison and fines of up to $500,000.
According to court records, Turner conspired with others to steal several firearms from a residence in Colchester. Those firearms included four handguns. The indictment alleges that one of the handguns, a Beretta, was used to murder David Auclair at a trailhead in Hinesburg on July 11, 2019.
Angela Auclair and her son Kory George have been charged in Vermont state court with conspiring to murder David Auclair on July 11, 2019.
George has pleaded guilty to those charges and been sentenced. Auclair is still facing a state murder conspiracy charge.
Court records say Turner was Angela Auclair’s lover at the time of the murder.

Motive?
Sounds heinous, and the act IS.
But what drives a woman to want to kill her ex?
That woman has been tortured. Look at her face.
It says, “No one would help me but my son. You failed me. If I wanted to stay alive…” — fill in the blank.
Women who kill are treated far more severely than men, and yet women are often doing so for the safety of her children, or herself…
Yes… all those exceptions you will tout… but the rule in these cases is not how these things need to be JUSTLY addressed…
We need to do better for our women who are violated, tortured and trespassed against, sometimes by those who are sent to help, or to whom they are sent for help… we can do better.
NOT excusing the crime. It sprang from a nest of sin and violence… there but for the grace of God go I.

What? You mean criminals steal guns. Did he observe the three-day waiting period before stealing them. Politicians pass gun control to control the honest law-abiding citizens because we understand the Constitution which they are against. That makes us a threat to their power. Can you name one gun control law that has stopped a criminal from obtaining a gun?
“The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them”.
