Glenn Testa, 77, of Bridgewater unlawfully fired a shotgun at a man, state police say
A youth hockey tournament in Lyndon took a violent turn on Sunday morning, Feb. 23 when a fight broke out between two women spectators at the Fenton Chester Arena.
Vermont State Police say that upon arrival, troopers spoke with witnesses who described a verbal dispute escalating into a physical altercation between Jaqueline Fingon, 41, of Rutland, and Jennifer Mielewski, 39, of St. Johnsbury.
According to the police investigation, Fingon allegedly assaulted Mielewski, who was pregnant at the time, leaving her with minor injuries. The circumstances leading up to the confrontation remain unclear, but authorities confirmed the incident occurred during an “Under 10 years old” hockey tournament.
Fingon was later located and cited for simple assault. She is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on March 31.
Shotgun fired at man – A Bridgewater man is in custody after allegedly firing a shotgun at another individual during a dispute, according to the Vermont State Police.
State Police went to a Goldcoast Road home at about 2:49 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a report of gunfire. Following an investigation, police determined that Glenn Testa, 77, had fired a shotgun at Joseph Laderoute, 70.
Testa was taken into custody and charged in connection with the shooting and was issued a flash citation to appear in Windsor County Superior Court on Monday, February 24. He was lodged without bail at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
Fatal fire in Sharon – Thursday, Feb. 20 the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department was notified of a fire at a home on Route 14 in Sharon. A passerby alerted 911 that smoke and fire were coming from the basement. While suppressing the fire, the department was notified that a resident who lived at the address was unaccounted for and believed to have not escaped the home. During fire overhaul operations, a body was located within the home.
The body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for identification and an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. This fire remains under investigation at this time but is not considered suspicious.

Come on it’s hockey. Isn’t it expected fir criminal acts in and off the ice? Inspired by Canadian and US tournament play no doubt.
So you’re creating a moral equivalency between players who participate in a contest with rules and referees to an open forum in which any hooligan can, under no code of conduct, assault a fellow spectator? Right…
Parents in the stands are the bane of all youth sports.
Actually, hockey is graceful and one of the hardest sports to play by some of the toughest people you’ll meet. The hockey jokes between you and Johnny Bananas go over like a fart in church…
So far though, none of the pro hockey players have claimed to be pregnant. Assaulting a pregnant woman is sick & cowardly.
