A New Hampshire man wanted on multiple sex-related and violent charges surrendered to Windham County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday in Bellows Falls after a months-long effort by law enforcement to locate him.
Ryan J. Etheze, 35, of Raymond, New Hampshire, was arrested Jan. 7 in connection with a July 2025 sexual assault investigation in Bellows Falls, according to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the investigation began after Etheze allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman on Rockingham Street in Bellows Falls. Investigators determined there was probable cause to charge Etheze with attempted sexual assault without consent, aggravated assault, and lewd and lascivious conduct.
A detective with the sheriff’s office applied for and received an arrest warrant in October 2025. Deputies, assisted by multiple law enforcement agencies in Vermont and New Hampshire, searched for Etheze for several months before he surrendered to authorities on Wednesday, police said.
Etheze was taken into custody and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility, where he is being held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m.
The Windham County Sheriff’s Office credited the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, Bellows Falls Police Department, and the Bow and Raymond, New Hampshire, police departments for their assistance in locating Etheze.
As with all criminal cases, Etheze is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
