VTGOP Chair calls VT Democrats “disgraceful” skipping address from PM Netanyahu

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

After the entire Vermont Federal Delegation announced they were skipping Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address, VTGOP Chairman Paul Dame issued the following video statement:

“When I found out that all three Democrats elected to represent Vermont at the federal level when all three of them said that they were going to be skipping out on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address, the first word that came to my mind was “disgraceful.” I can’t imagine what a horrible message that sends to our allies around the world.  It tells them if you make the effort to come here, address the American Congress to ask for help in a war that is trying to rescue hostages which includes Americans you allies might not even show up to listen to what that leader has to say.

Unfortunately, it has become absolutely characteristic for Democrats who do not want to listen to anyone who has a different opinion.  We’ve seen this here in Vermont when thousands of people reached out to their legislators around the state and said “Please don’t pass this unaffordable heat act!” They did it anyway.  When school budgets were failing all across the state, voters were telling Democrats “We don’t want this.  Please listen to us.”  Governor Scott issued a veto to try to get property taxes under control but Democrats wouldn’t listen.

It’s one thing for it to happen on the state level, but to see all three members of Vermont’s Federal get on board with this group think from National Democrats to reject an important Ally that we have in in the region is one of the most disgraceful things I’ve ever seen. I understand people may have differences of opinion about how Netanyahu should run his country.  I’m sure many of our allies have differences in opinion about how we run our country.  But that’s no reason to give them the cold shoulder.  You can go listen to the perspective of somebody that maybe you don’t agree with.  It’s just a common courtesy that Democrats are not extending to an important ally.  If we want American hostages to come back we have to be working with Israel.  That’s the only nation in the area that’s going to help us get those Americans back. To not even show up is one of the most disrespectful things that I would have thought would have been beneath at least one of the members of our Congressional delegation.  To see all three turn their backs on an important Ally sets a new low for the representation that Vermont has at the federal level.

And this puts even more emphasis about why we absolutely need to vote these people out and Vermonters need to think about whether not Democrats are continuing to represent them the way that maybe they have in previous years. I really believe this might be a turning point in the election that Vermonters need to look carefully about whether Democrats are listening and are they willing to hear different perspectives?  And if they’re not listening – they’re not fit to lead.”

  1. maybe we had better find out who is running this country/////

  2. Senator Sanders, Senator Welch and Representative Welch blowing off the Joint Session of Congress today demonstrates how disfunctional Vermont is at this time. It’s incredible that they would not want to be fully informed of issues surrounding the terrorist attack October 7th. They could care less about the hostages! They refuse to admit that Gaza citizens helped hide the building of the tunnels…help hide the hostages…were legally working in Israel and poured info to Hamas to plan the attack.

I have personal losses from the terrorist attack September 11th, 2001, and I truly think the pass on terrorism is partially due to the overprotection of those who were young then, and have been born since. I personally know, the kids I worked with at that time had very little knowledge of what happened. Many of the pro Hamas protesters are from that age group. Bernie, Peter and Becca clearly want everyone to be in the dark about fighting terrorism.

    • Exactly, and esp. about the primary age(s) of protestors like yesterday. They have been totally brain washed.

  3. These three freeloaders salary from taxpayers is $525,000 at the minimum.. They really earn it huh? The Bern and the Welcher have made millions for doing nothing. They ain’t stupid, the liberal vot5ers are.

  4. This shows how inept these two stooges really are, Sanders a Brooklyn Jew should hold his head in shame, and Welch all he does is what he’s told from the elites in his leftist party tells him…two buffoons, I can’t believe Balint wasn’t part of this gaggle of fools as she usually tags along, she’s another black eye for VT politics.

I cannot believe Vermont’s two buffoons are skipping out on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address, Hamas wanted a fight and they’re getting one, then you have US citizens supporting Hamas, tons of these fools are gay or trans, don’t these fools understand that there hero Hamas would chop there heads of in a heart beat !!, Nah, they’re fools. and then you have all these Hamas supporters covering there faces, what a pack of cowards, if they really believed there “BS” rhetoric then they should be proud to show there faces, so Hamas would know who they are, but no they are cowards !!

    We deserve better

  5. Very appropriate article Mr Dame. I hope that you submitted it to every newspaper in the state and every local tv channel news programs too. Certainly all of them in Burlington. And if they choose to censor your article, expose the newspaper for censorship. Buy an ad in that paper exposing them and if that’s too costly have Guy and Paul discuss it on Fridays at four!!!! Is this WWII Germany??Where is the tolerance for Israel who has to fight against an unprovoked attack by hamas? It was a sign of disrespect for them to not attending Netanyahu’s speech and shouldn’t be tolerated without consequences. In Vermont, everyone should be informed of this disrespectful behavior of our elected independent and democratic senators, Sanders, Welch and house representative Balint. People might want to vote differently in November!!!!

    • GREAT points. And actions you’ll NEVER see the GOP engage in.

Some of those cost $$$. And, of course, the VT GOP has none, I suppose…..

    • Do you think JD Vance face consequences for not attending Netanyahu’s speech because he was too busy campaigning?

  6. Yet Mr. Dame AND the “GOP(??)” Governor, amongst others in the VT organization, voted FOR these people, recall?

You reap what you sow. Wanna keep placating radicals & Communists in VT? Deal better with the consequences and try not to complain too much.

    • That is a lie Kathleen.
I did not vote for any of these Democrats.
Whether you came to this incorrect statement entirely by your own imagination, or you believed someone who obviously lied to you, I would caution you and others to verify such a slanderous claim before repeating it.
They would rather have us lying about, and fighting each other than staying focused on their own excusable behavior

  7. This all coming from Paul Dame who has no business caring about what the Commiecrats do. What he should be caring about is the neutered gubernatorial candidate he is trying to get elected governor. The one who had every one of his vetos overridden. The one who won’t vote for the Republican nominee Donald Trump and is put in office by the same voters that voted for Sanders, Welch and Balint. King Philip the Scott 1st Eunuch King of Castrati.

“And the world’s few… evil people have little power without the help of the world’s many stupid people. As a result, stupidly is a far greater threat than evil”

  8. This Christian Gentile watched the entirety of Netanyahu’s speech to Congress. The first thing that struck me was the empty seats on the Democratic side, and the absence of our current Vice-President. The USA hasn’t had such a strong and eloquent leader since Kennedy, or maybe even Roosevelt.

  9. And it’s a good bet that all three were standing and barking like trained seals, waving their Ukrainian flags when Zalensky was in the House.

  10. I find it odd that Bibi and Zelensky are welcomed into, supposably, our House and granted copious amounts of applause, praise, and our money. I didn’t vote for either Bibi or Zelensky. Why do they have a right to demand our money and the right to tell us what we owe them? Do we have the privlege to go over to their land, demand their money, and tell them they owe us? Our “allies” seem to be feckless co-dependents that can’t stand on their own, even though they possess weapons of mass destruction and GDPs of their own. Who is zoomin’ who these days?

  11. Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) will not attend the speech to a joint session of Congress by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, a Trump campaign adviser told The Hill on Monday. Jason Miller, senior adviser to the Trump campaign, said in a statement that Vance has “duties to fulfill as the Republican nominee for Vice President.”

  12. Islam isn’t considered a patriarchal religion by most on the Left.
And some on the conservative side are not into funding foreign wars.
The Left think everyone marches in lockstep like they do.

  13. Folks! Get out and get people Registered to VOTE and get out and VOTE Red, Red, Red, Red vote Red period folks Get-R-Done Patriots Get-R-Done Donald J Trump Get-R-Done 👍🇺🇸 🗽🇺🇸 👍
