  1. Those who claim that the F-35 is too loud are not old enough to remember the predecessor to the previously-based F-16, the F-4 Phantom. That Viet Nam-era, twin engine beast was just as loud as the F-35. The Burlington airport has been in operation since being built on a cornfield in 1920, so no one living around here can claim that it moved in recently and “changed the character of the neighborhood”. Fire engines and ambulances are noisy too, but our society chooses to have fire departments, rescue squads and train horns in the interest of public safety and protection, just like we have the 158th Fighter Wing and the Green Mountain Boys. If the occasional roar of the Pratt and Whitney “sound of freedom” is too much for you moonbats, God gave you 8 fingers which conveniently fit your ear canals…choose two and use them as needed. Some of us marvel at the very occasional air show and fully appreciate the efforts of the 158th and Lockheed-Martin to safeguard our skies. It’s a dangerous world. I would much prefer my tax dollars purchase necessary military aircraft rather than building supervised injection facilities for junkies.

    • Actually, the F4 was louder…..MUCH louder. It was proof that with enough horsepower that a brick can fly. The real difference is that we didn’t have as many moonbats in Vermont as we do now.

  2. To all the Whiners about the F-35 get over it, what you hear is the sound of freedom,
if you can’t handle it, then you should probably move back to where you came from !!

Moving anywhere around an airport, that has been around since 1920, and the air guard has been around since 1946, well it’s going to be noisy just in case you didn’t realize that plane are noisy.

I have lived in the Air Guard flight path since 1956…………………………………..
