Oh no. The Mayor must be furious! Arresting the marginalized for dealing narcotics? That’s criminal! And now fentanyl overdoses and street crime might decrease — how terrible.

If she really wanted to put her money where her mouth is, she would push to site the “overdose prevention center” down Shelburne Road by the rotary and near her own Five Sisters neighborhood. Since those two motels were converted to shelters, there is no shortage of junkies and clandestine camping in that area. We can see how many of her fellow south end progressives will come up with creative NIMBY excuses to oppose it like “out of character with the neighborhood”. Seems like it would fit right in though. Locate that facility downtown and it will be the last straw for more businesses to vacate BTV.

Are people aware of what has happened in England and France? It all started in one city and spread, all intentional and on purpose. This is happening with Burlington. And Vermont is going the course of England, sad to say.
