  1. Did JFK, for example, ‘consult’ Congress when he imposed a blockade on Cuba in 1962? No.

Did JFK blockade Cuba by Executive Order? No. The decision was made secretly within the Executive Committee of the National Security Council without congressional involvement.

Technically, JFK authorized the blockade through a Presidential Proclamation 3504, titled “Interdiction of the Delivery of Offensive Weapons to Cuba,” signed on October 23, 1962. This proclamation ordered U.S. forces to interdict the delivery of specified offensive weapons to Cuba, effective October 24, 1962, and explicitly directed the Secretary of Defense to enforce it using naval, air, and land forces.

So today, our esteemed ‘Republican’ (tsk, tsk) Governor Scott, and his political cohorts, Bernie Sanders, Peter Welch and Becca Balint, believe these decisions require their approval.

  2. How many Vermonters have died from fentanyl? And you want do nothing congress’s permission to take down the dealers?
Oh yeah… This is the State where we slap dealers wrists… Catch and release justice system where we don’t want to offend the criminals.
Please sir… Can I please have more of this? Said no one ever.
    Milquetoast. Pablum diet.
    I don’t know what a woman is…
    What a leader.
    Disgusted. Yet again.
    Not a great man.

    • Not to mention permitting his Country to be used to train ISIS terrorists plus selling and shipping oil to countries prohibited from buying it using tankers that are violating international law by changing their flags several times during their voyages.

    • Fentanyl isn’t coming out of Venezuela, it’s coming out of China (precursor chemicals) and Mexico (manufacture and trafficking). The Dept of State’s 2025 International Narcotics Control Strategy Report summary on Venezuela doesn’t even mention fentanyl.

    • Thank You Allison. My son was one who died from fentanyl. My wife and I cheer every time they blow up a drug boat.

  3. Any public official or Vermont taxpayer who opposes pre-emptive strikes on boats bringing addictive poison to our shores needs to be reminded about the 183 Vermonters who lost their lives to overdose in 2024, and the over 100,000 who died nationally. The high levels of property and violent crime should also be factored in to any discussion about the best ways to PREVENT the availability of addictive opioids and cocaine products, which is INTERDICTION WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE prior to the substances being imported. To put it simply and succinctly, deadly force is justifiably being used against deadly threats. The discussion over regime change in Venezuela may be a more complicated discussion, but first, the flow of deadly drugs must be halted when possible.

    • The gov is sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. I think we have enough problems here in VT that he should worry about. This is the same gov that claims to be a republican but voted for Biden, Harris and promoted Haley in the primary. He has TDS and will do anything to disagree with the president of his political party. I’m so sick of his so-called leadership and the fake title of the nation’s most popular gov. He’s popular with progressives and that’s who he panders to. Vermont is a mess, the state is broke and broken. These people hate the fact that Trump has shown them what a real leader can do. Yes, Trump is not perfect and neither is our gov. Then take a look at what the democrats did to the country under Biden. The greatest danger to our state and nation is ignorant voters. They have brought us to this point in Vermont history, a failed state.

  4. Yes, I’m sure Trump should consult with congress, so they can leak information to their MSM buddies.

    • Dan, heard an interview yesterday with Harmed Dillion of DOJ investigating ‘targeting’, she advised this is still a problem. A majority of her staff resigned when she arrived and set the new set of rules, some that stayed are true ‘deep state’ with friends in MSM, when new investigations come out, as soon as the memos hit ‘somehow’ the media is notified and Democrat NGO file lawsuits against it, at times the same day as the notice was issued.

    • I guess old “deep state” habits are hard to break.
Thanks, Ron, I’ll look for that interview.

  5. If our actions in Venezuela are actually about drugs (and not oil, wink wink), why did the president pardon–just two weeks ago–one of the world’s foremost drug traffickers, the former dictator of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, who was convicted of trafficking over 400 tons of cocaine into the United States? I thought “no more wars” was MAGA bread-and-butter. But, as usual, if our party is waging the war, it’s all good.

    • John,

Was Hernandez convicted for his brother’s crimes, under the Biden DOJ?

It’s about far more than drugs and oil. It’s about who facilitates the transfer of drug and oil MONEY into assets that support certain regimes, including our “scrappy little dyke” and the VT cadre in the Congress, Senate, and under the Golden Dome of Montpelier. Look up HSBC…

The price of cocaine in Europe has increased; what a shame…

A lot of campaign coffers are going to be lighter in 2026.

  6. Hey Phil, what have you done to solve the “drug problem” in Burlington, Barre, Rutland, Springfield, etc…?

  7. Meanwhile the only business that can boom and prosper in Vermont, because no permits are needed and there are no impediments are drug dealing, also supported by our taxpayers with a free place to stay with the sugar mama on welfare, providing a love nest from which to do the drug dealing.

Of all topics, why would he choose to stand up for this? Perhaps the Chinese have been spending too much time in Vermont. They remember the Opium wars that took them over 100 years to recover from, this is unconventional warfare against the American people and our governor seems to want to support the drug trade rather than legit business in Vermont.

    Sad, very sad.

  8. Tomorrow is the big day when all the Epstein files will be released. Pop the popcorn for the big event as the crooked scum balls in Washington, the media, corporate leaders bankers, and many other low lives get exposed. Hate to disappoint you as this will never happen. The information that TEL. LIE. VISION. has put out to entertain the folks has been known for over twenty years.

  9. The Constitution gives the Congress the authority to declare war. It does not give Congress the authority to wage war. King Philip the Scott 1st Eunuch King of Castrati should try reading it sometime.

“The Constitution is not a living organism, it’s a legal document, and it says what it says, and it doesn’t say what it doesn’t say”.
    Antonin Scalia

    • Did you ask for proof of terrorism during any of Obama’s 500+ drone strikes which killed multiple innocent civilians? Just curious.

    • Re: ‘no proof’.

The citation that there is no evidence that these ‘go-fast’ boats are carrying drugs is not entirely true. There is significant circumstantial evidence. From October 2024–September 2025, the Coast Guard seized approximately 250 tons of cocaine (that’s tons… with a ‘t’), much of it from ‘go-fast’ boats.

While direct evidence is lacking, due to the nature of the strikes, the circumstantial case—rooted in decades of verified smuggling patterns, route analysis, and intelligence—is substantial enough to establish reasonable cause for suspicion in many instances. This mirrors precedents like the signature-based drone strikes on terrorists, where preventive lethal action relies on similar indirect indicators.

U.S. administrations (Bush, Obama, Biden & Trump) have, for years, justified proactive attacks on terrorists as lawful under the laws of war, self-defense (Article 51 of the UN Charter), and the AUMF, treating suspects as unlawful combatants, despite some claims that these actions may ‘stretch’ international law, risk civilian casualties, and set precedents for extrajudicial killings.

The current 2025 strikes on suspected “narco-terrorists” at sea follow this established pattern of extraterritorial lethal force against non-state actors labeled as threats, though applied to a new context (drug trafficking networks designated as terrorist organizations).

Final analysis: In the United States for example, law enforcement officers are generally justified in using deadly force in self-defense (or defense of others) when confronted with a person wielding what the officer reasonably believes to be a loaded firearm, even if the gun later turns out to be empty, unloaded, a replica, or a toy.

After all, what is the evidence that these ‘go-fast’ boats aren’t carrying drugs.

    • Eager, Obama’s drone strikes also killed innocent US Citizens, one being a 16 year old boy

    • Also, very little, if any, evidence of illegal activity in Waco yet Clinton ordered and then watched the murder of more that 60 innocent men, women and children(babies) as it was broadcast on all the major networks and on American soil.

    • Whatever may or may not be on those boats is absolutely dwarfed by the provable flow of drugs coming out of Mexico. So . . . why aren’t we striking Mexico? Answer: Because Mexico doesn’t have the largest proven oil reserves in the world. (Trump’s social media post this week mentioned the word “oil” five times. Not a coincidence.)

    • Ok. So sounds like everyone is totally on board with trusting trump. Like I’ve been saying all along: trump supporters need no proof. Just trust in him. He tells no lies.

response to eager80 and Ron… I was totally against drone strikes which killed innocent civilians under Obama, as I am against blowing up boats without proof of drug smuggling. Were you in support of Obama? Just curious… I have a strong feeling that I’m the only one here who doesn’t want to kill people without proof that they are actually doing something wrong.

response to H. J…. I can prove there were no drugs on the boats because none were found. If they found drugs, trump would have said so. You see, if he doesn’t mention it, it doesn’t exist, right? …. (as an aside H. J…. can you please explain how trump has brought drug prices down 400%, 500% as he has claimed so many times? I think trump needs your linguistic ability to explain that math.)

    • Okay Rosato, one point at a time.

Re: “I can prove there were no drugs on the boats because none were found. If they found drugs, trump would have said so.”

Again, your assertion is a classic example of the ‘absence of evidence fallacy’ — assuming that because something wasn’t publicly announced or found in a searchable way, it definitively wasn’t there. The key point: These strikes are done remotely (drones/missiles) and the boats are destroyed at sea. There’s no boarding, no search, no recovery of cargo— the vessels explode or sink, often with any potential evidence going down with them. The administration asserts the boats had drugs based on previous Coast Guard seizures and intelligence (surveillance, patterns, etc., as I cited earlier), but they’ve provided no physical proof like seized narcotics because the method doesn’t allow for it.

Again, where is your definitive proof that drugs aren’t on these ‘go-fast’ boats?

Re: “…can you please explain how trump has brought drug prices down 400%, 500% as he has claimed so many times? I think trump needs your linguistic ability to explain that math.”

Did Trump mis-speak. Yes. But only once in this regard. His extemporaneous remarks, even when reading from a teleprompter, are sometimes flawed or exaggerated. That’s Trump being Trump. Kinda like Rosato being Rosato.

But Russ Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, yesterday clarified President Trump’s statement regarding the drug prices, explaining that Trump’s newly negotiated drug prices would necessitate price increases of 400% to 500% to equal the drug prices Americans have recently been paying.

The point is, as Trump is in the process of explaining at yet another press conference as I write this retort (2:45pm 12-19-25), he is dramatically lowering drug prices by insisting the drug companies match the lowest prices charged around the world instead of charging Americans 400% or 500% more than they charge in other countries.

  10. The defense budget just passed for $901 Billion – I believe that is a vote in the affirmative for the military industrial complex to proceed with vim and vigor. The Fed is purchasing $40 Billion in US Treasury debt notes each month until further notice – $1 Trillion was added to the US debt deficit in 71 days – reportedly – adding over $5 billion to the debt daily.

Appears Congress, the media, the Administration, the US State Governors, US Legislatures are not bothered by US debt or debt spending at all. It is all normal, it is all just fine, and there is nothing to worry about – pay your taxes, pay the inflation tax, pay the tarriff tax – everything is just fine!

  11. Only Donald Trump was elected President. Not Phil Scott, not Welch, not Sanders and not Balint. I really wish these people would try cooperating with the Trump administration. I believe it would make things go much easier for Vermonters.
I also cheer when another drug fast boat goes WHOMBA!
