Perhaps we need to push to replace the opponents. Just a thought.
So let me voice my ” Support ” of the F35s and the Vermont Air Guard, and whatever they fly to defend our freedom, I’m not sure why someone in Burlington “Well I know why ” It’s the progressive cancer in the city that whines over everything.
I lived in Burlington my entire life since 1951, and yes the Jets fly over my current residence every week, it reminds me of the support for being free, and yes it’s ” The sound of freedom !!
To the whiners that say they live in the ” flight path ” well maybe you shouldn’t have moved there, and perhaps just go back where you came from, as the airport has been around since the 20s and the Air Guard has been around since the 40’s and yes, jet planes are loud, maybe these whiners want electric fighter planes………… fools !!
Just remember the first jets deployed on 09/11/2001 were the Vermont Air National Guard ……. for your safety & freedom.
Hey Burlington City Council, how about cleaning up the city, as it’s become a cesspool, crime, drugs, homelessness, just to mention some real issues ……….
The noise from F-35s is nothing new. Old timers who were around when the the two-engine F-4 phantoms were based with the 158th Fighter Wing will remember that they were just as loud. High performance fighter planes, fire engines, ambulances and rail locomotives are all part of our modern society and are noisy. The airport has been operating long before any of the progressive whiners arrived.
Burlington city councilors have asked that Winooski and So. Burlington “step up” and address the vagrancy problem that the progressives themselves created. I suppose they could use the argument that the homeless are avoiding those municipalities because of the jet noise…? Burlington officials need to “step up” and take responsibility since they gave rise to the problem by providing so many amenities for those who dont put a priority on spending their financial resources on housing themselves, but instead spending it on “other priorities”. When they offer free housing, what is otherwise a very pricey life expense, and do it based on the honor system, they shouldn’t be surprised when word gets out and people flock to the area to take advantage. It’s not complicated but this is apparently what the majority of Burlington voters want.
Real simple. Burlington need to find a way to repay the Air National Guard for re-deployment of the F-35’s, deal with the loss of jobs resulting from the loss of the F-35 and fully fund a federally required Airport Fire and Rescue Department, 24/7 365 in order for Burlington International to remain open to Commercial Air Service. Another 15-20 million annually added to Burlington’s already overtaxed homeowners- just to start.
The Vermont Air Guard has been flying since 1947 and has flown F-89, F-101, B-57 and F-4 jets- much louder than todays F-35. There are very few- if any residents of Burlington, So Burlington or Winooski that have owned homes there, prior to 1947. Ignorance of the VTANG and their mission is not a valid excuse.
Perhaps these disgruntled residents might better use their time lobbying for increased police protection and tougher prosecutions of the offenders that now plague Burlington.
Leftists think replacing them with marshmallows would be a good idea; no need to defend the USA – it’s a racist nation brimming with evil ideologies such as meritocracy and Judeo-Christianity based laws. Besides, wide open “borders” is the way to go, so no need for defense of any kind.
These folks aren’t just radicals. They are psychopathic.
…And I once lived in the flight path as well in Colchester. The planes never bothered me one iota, instead just reminded me that the Vermont Air National Guard were the first responders to reach the falling World Trade Center buildings in NYC on that fateful day of 9/11!!!!!!!! Way to go, Vermont Guard!!!!!!!!!!
Now two decades later, our children are being taught that radical Islam is to be revered and Jews & Christians who defended our NYC, PA, & D.C. sites that day and the days following, are the true enemy. Sick. Pathetic. Disgraceful.
THANK YOU, ARMED FORCES, FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!!!
Those who want them replaced? How ’bout we replace YOU, you ignorant traitors!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don’t like jet noise, move away from the airport. I’ll be more than happy to move in and listen since I’m an aircraft tech.
And if you think the F35 is noisy, let’s bring back the F4 Phantoms for a week. I promise you after a few days of them, you will welcome the F35’s back.
Nothing better than viewing a F-4 taking off at night with full AB.
Do they consider the F-35’s were brought here by Saint Patrick Leahy? They shouldn’t worry too much – the F-16s were sent to Ukraine and soon, the F-35’s and all other hardware will be shipped overseas spreading freedom and democracy. All the while, we can wait for the cyber “event” they are discussing and plotting on September 10-11, 2024. Check out the all-stars participating: enemies and allies alike.
“Cyber Polygon is the international initiative of BI.ZONE aimed at raising global cyber resilience. In 2021, more than 200 teams from 48 countries participated in the training. The event was keynoted by Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation; Herman Gref, CEO, Chairman of the Executive Board, Sber; Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman, World Economic Forum; Steve Wozniak, Co-founder, Apple Computer, and other participants.”
Did these people not know they were buying a home near an airport? Maybe that’s why the home was listed at such a good price.
