  1. Vermont has laws on the books to allow people to seek the assistance of a physician to end their own life, and it was recently expanded to allow for “suicide tourists” to come from other states to avail themselves. When someone, whether addicted or not, actively engages in the use of street opioids for recreation, they are essentially dabbling in suicidal behavior. We really need to be asking the question of whether a significant level of public resources should continue to be allocated through repeated dosing with Narcan and precious ER care to those who just keep stepping too close to the edge of the overdose abyss. There, I said it.

    • I can’t say that I disagree with what you said at all. If there is no Narcan then the addicts have no safety net and just maybe someone who is considering jumping on the Heroin bandwagon may rethink the idea

  2. Go deeper. There is no faith in the economy, no faith in our Gov’t. No faith in God…what does anyone have to live for especially if they have no family, no friends, no purpose. It’s easy to forget the victims of this Legislative season. When there is no hope you numb your pain. People are numbing the pain while they watch others seemingly unaffected. Narcan and free drugs will not solve this problem. It’s a mental/ man made issue. The need for mental institutions is higher than ever. The need for common sense is even greater. The need for family and values/ morals has to be re-established!
