  1. Senator Baruth always seems to come up with an idea that won’t help, and may indeed hurt. Gun safety laws are all well and good, but in all, do not address the root / basic causes of the problems. These are: drug use and the drug trafficking that feeds and supports the use; homelessness; combined with ineffectual criminal prosecution and accountability both in Vermont and in the places the traffickers and criminals come from; under-staffed and under-resourced law enforcement agencies (legacy of the “defunding” hoo haa that too place a few years ago).

Gun safety measures are plentiful. Senator Baruth, come up with something more, or if not, please just keep quiet, because you are not helping the conversation about REAL work that is needed to address these public health problems and attendant violence.

    • Spot on. Baruth has no clue. And by the way he’s also the guy who endorsed a mayoral candidate who went down in flames…

  2. It wasn’t long ago that the Burlington progressives were proclaiming that the biggest threat to public safety were the police, and declared “racism to be a public health emergency”. Would like to know how many of them have since purchased personal safety products like pepper spray and even firearms. Those of us who pay attention know that it is their progressive policies which have created the enhanced need and desire to pack such defensive tools. If only life was as simple as solving problems by painting large virtue-signaling messages in bold yellow lettering on Main Street.

  3. Oh, yeah, it’s the “weak gun laws.” I’m really getting sick of these leftists importing criminals, refusing to prosecute, letting them go free if they even bother to arrest them, and then blaming guns. None of this was a problem even just five years ago. It’s black drug gangs moving up here for turf, and it started with legalized weed. I would expect that people like Sarah George know exactly what they’re doing- encouraging violent crime so they can go after legal guns, and legal gun owners who defend themselves. And they should be tarred & feathered at the least.

  4. what is a gun crime//// has any guns been sent to jail////senator baruth is the joker////
