  1. Dick McCormack retiring ! The people of Windsor Co. have a chance to begin an evolution in Vermont, or they can accept the status quo, and vote in another fruity lefty hell bent on changing Vermont into North Mass. I hope that they are smart enough to realize that the “super majority” is the reason we are where we are. 2+2 will always come up 4. If you want a different answer, it’s time for a different equation .

  3. Dick McCormack, don’t let the door hit you on the back on your way out. Sadly his “student” isn’t any better.
    We need a knowledgeable candidate, not another person who is “educated” by the main stream media, lobbyists, NGO’s and partisan hacks. This guy fully bought into the covid 19 narrative and wrote the following ignorant and nasty reply to an email I wrote regarding imposing vaccine mandates and the covid “vaccine’s” proven inability to stop transmission:
    “So too with vaccination. It’s your right to choose not to vaccinate. Your body, your choice. But that choice makes you a threat to others, and we have rights too, in fact the very same right, bodily autonomy. Our bodies, our choice. It’s your right to not vaccinate. It’s our right to not breath your breath. It’s no injustice to require that you respect our rights.
    So if you choose to make yourself a vector of a deadly virus, stay out of indoor public places like schools and other people’s workplaces etc., and when out doors wear a mask and keep 6′ distance.”

    Not sorry to see him go, but sorry it wasn’t sooner. Add his vote for the “clean heat act” to the list of his ill considered votes.

  4. Guy, thank you for posting the Free Press article written by Bari Weiss. Unfortunately when I opened the link, I received the following message : ” This conversation cannot be downloaded ” . I managed to find Bari’s powerful article through another media, but I wonder if this is happening to other readers of the VDC.

The rats are jumping ship – the paper trail must be giving the choice to leave or the public finds out their done dirty secrets. Colorado Rep. Ken Buck fleeing Congress next week – after he voted against impeaching Mayorkas – interesting – why leaving so fast and not finishing their term?

  10. How fortunate we are for VDC… to be able to read perspectives by Bari Weiss and others… or to choose not to do so. The same should be said for all of the commentary these stories generate, be they insightful, hateful, or incongruous. At the very least, we all benefit from knowing what makes people tick, in having the opportunity to understand where knowledgeable security resides, and where danger may be lurking. Our good fortune, in this regard, is exemplified here. To understand the devil we know, as opposed to being blindsided by the devil we don’t know, is to learn what we can, whenever we can. There is much to learn here. “Sometimes ‘tis better to be silent and thought the fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.”

    • Thank you Guy ! I apologize for my harsh reaction. I am more and more sensitive to antisemitism nowadays.

    • No apology needed. Or from me either for banning the explicitly hateful antisemitic statements that have been repeatedly submitted in violation of published guidelines.

    • I struggled with how I should respond to Ryan Roy’s comment. Now I’m struggling with how to respond to the rest of you.

      Isn’t it better to know what Ryan Roy is thinking, hateful as it may have been, rather than censor his comment? Who is the more scum-full, Ryan Roy, or those who claim we should be embarrassed by proud white people, or those who claim Guy Page is responsible for the anti-sematic Nazi scum who infest this forum. After all, while Mr. Roy did point out, correctly or not, that Bari Weiss is Jewish, is it unreasonable to know what the motivation may have been for her article and the video referenced in it? Did anyone watch the video? Would it have been more ‘legitimate’ news if Ms. Weiss was a Muslim?

      Did Mr. Roy actually breach VDC rules? The only reason we know Roy is hateful is because his detestable reputation preceded him. Had reports of his history been censored, we may have never known the extent to which his misguided character prevailed. Again, who is more preferable, the devil you know, or the devil you don’t know?

      Yes, I find it hard to support the rights of a person who has a history of hateful rhetoric. And yes, Guy Page sets the rules for VDC, despite the 1st Amendment. But if we can’t consider what we believe is good along with what others believe is good, what does that say about us?

      I was about to ask Mr. Ryan what Ms. Weiss’s religion had to do with anything. So now I’ll ask you, Ms. Taylor, did you mean to include me in your observation of the anti-sematic Nazi scum infestation on VDC? Or is Chris (whoever he is) embarrassed only by ‘people that are proudest of being white’… as opposed, for example, to those with Gay Pride? What about ‘people’ with Black Pride? Or is it just ‘pride’ in general that bothers you?

      I’ve been citing this quote often of late, if for no other reason than to keep my own feet on the ground.

    “Had reports of his history been censored, we may have never known the extent to which his misguided character prevailed.” Why would this ever happen? He committed a crime which is a matter of public record. Did you expect his record to be expunged? This doesn’t make any sense.

    If you don’t know what I meant about my comment, you are being purposely obtuse. I obviously think that Nazis are filth, yet like I always complain about you, you take the conversation into a direction that makes no sense. Btw, I am cool with all prides, except lions, I hate them.

    If you want to pal around with Nazis, good for you. I happen to believe that there are certain absolutes. One is that your rights end when they infringe on the rights of others. If I look at a table and there is one Nazi sitting with five other people, I see six Nazis. If you want to pal around with people like that, don’t be surprised when your point of view slides further into irrelevancy in this state.

      Apparently, those postings were censored and I missed them. Go figure.

    • No worries Jay – the painting with wide brushes lumping all colors, creeds, ethnic heritages, etc. is reserved for a select few. Those who research history farther back then the current century and have the audicity to question the well compensated “official records”, do recognize certain well heeled bloodlines spill more blood than the Red Cross. The reason as to why and how such carnage was funded in the first place is something they don’t care to know or even comprehend. Some will never wake up – 10-13% is the current figure.

  13. I’ve always enjoyed reading Bari Weiss. She started The Free Press after her public resignation from the NYT. One thing I’ve her complain about is that her colleagues claimed she went off too much about her Jewish faith. I have to agree with them, her justification for occupying Palestine is contorted extremism.
