In off-year voting yesterday, Washington County voters said no to a Berlin Rec Center, yes to housing and public works garage in Barre. Results on the Central Vermont Career Center won’t be available until Thursday.
Barre voters said yes 636-570 to Tax Increment Finance District infrastructure improvements that will support the development of Stevens Branch Apartments, and yes to a $3.3 million bond to renovate the public works buildings on Morrison Road.
Berlin voters rejected 214-290 a four-season recreation center on the current site of a skating rink next to the Town Office.
Results for the $149 bond for the Central Vermont Career Center – a mostly-Washington County tech ed initiative – won’t be known until Thursday. The ballots were collected at polling booths last night and then delivered to a central ballot counting location. The CVCC website says the final tally will be announced Thursday afternoon.
And apologies to our readers, but we got confused – there was in fact no voting in Burlington yesterday.
