St. Johnsbury Police and Vermont State Police are investigating a drive-by shooting of an area man, who was left wounded by 217 Concord Avenue Tuesday afternoon, May 6.
Few details have been provided, but Adam Belliveau, 31, was identified as the shooting victim in the 2:20 p.m. incident, officials said.
Nobody is in custody.
Belliveau was taken to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital where he was being treated for at least one gunshot wound to the abdomen, they said.
The extent of his injuries is unknown.
A New Hampshire-registered vehicle, possibly a tan truck, is being sought, police said.
The courthouse on nearby Main Street in St. Johnsbury was placed on lockdown. New Caledonia County Sheriff Brandon Thrailkill had deputies on hand to meet those needing to use the courthouse.
The courthouse closed at the normal time, a spokeswoman said.
Members of the uniform and detective division from state police are working with St. Johnsbury Police, which initially responded and sealed off the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call Vermont State Police in St. Johnsbury at (802) 748-3111.
