Crickets in the comments section. People must be busy on the phone with real estate agents.
Phil Scott is partially to blame for the socialist super majority in Montpelier as he has not helped down ballot candidates in past elections because a lot of them were Trump supporters and he would be damned if he ever supported someone who liked orange man bad policies. Scott relishes being named by the main stream media the “most popular governor” in the nation. The same media outlets that have repeated lie after lie about anything from if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor to if you get the COVID “vaccine” you not only will not get COVID, but you could not spread it.
During the Republican presidential nomination process he took to the podium to support Niki Haley who is a direct product of D.C. , and he clearly stated he was going to do everything possible to keep Trump off the ballot. Personally I think Scott is a sheep in a wolf’s skin and is reaping what he sowed. Just my two cents for what it is worth…..
Yes, Pat that’s exactly how it works. When you are likeable and popular, why would you want to attach a 250 pound orange tumor to yourself? A 34-time convicted felon. Phil represents those of us on the right that feel that MAGA needs to be lanced like a boil and only then can the Republican party be relevant again in Vermont.
PS- It’s time to get over COVID. Move on. Trump would have been re-elected in a landslide if he was minimally competent in his response. But he wasn’t because it required him to do something other than watching TV or tweeting. His response was so bad, he lost to a corpse. Move on, everyone else has except the comment section here
PAT, very well said and 100% spot on.
Well said, Pat.
Chris when you join a political party you attach yourself to its candidates. Scott is impersonating a Republican to prevent a real one from running. He is a Biden Democrat and a cuckoo.
On COVID, you can decide to “get over it” cos it’s sooooo over. I won’t “get over it”.
They showed themselves for who they are (Mao’ist dictators) when they threw away the constitution to force you to comply with everything they did.
Chris,
Clearly your TDS kicked in when you saw the trigger word TRUMP in my comment. My main point is Phil Scott is to blame for EVERYTHING the socialists have passed with their super majority as he has not helped fellow Republicans with their campaigns and opened the door for the socialist tsunami.
Since you brought up Trump’s felonious conviction can you PLEASE tell us WHAT EXACTLY he was convicted of??? I saw a clip on CNN and their legal analysis expert was dumbfounded, I figured if any network would be able to tell us what specific crime he was convicted for it would have been them.
Oh Pat, I can’t tell if you’re playing dumb or really are. Last time I checked, when you use campaign funds to pay people off, yeah you can’t do that.
Vt Rocks- “Chris when you join a political party you attach yourself to its candidates.”
Yes I attached myself to Phil Scott. Don’t know what any of the gibberish you said was but you are exactly the type of person the party needs to lose to become relevant again.
Chris,
You don’t know me. You likely don’t know anyone here. The “type of person “ you refer to is a taxpayer and someone who cares about the. Constitution.
But you know what, if you love Phil Scott so much I am sure you would follow him back to the Democrats where he belongs. That way AALL Vermonters could actually have a voice.
And isn’t it time for your 10th booster?
Chris,
Trump DID NOT use campaign funds to pay off Daniels, Bragg actually said he SHOULD have. He was charged with falsifying business records which is a misdemeanor in NY. It is your ignorance (not calling you DUMB) that inhibits your ability to make an educated decision to vote for the betterment of our state. You are not alone, there are tens of thousands just like you in our state and I am not singling you out!
So one more time, please tell us what specific crime Trump is guilty of…..
Title 32 : Taxation and Finance
Chapter 005 : Budget
(Cite as: 32 V.S.A. § 306a)
§ 306a. Purpose of the State budget
(a) The State budget, consistent with Chapter I, Article 7 of Vermont’s Constitution, should “be instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security of the people, nation, or community . . .” The State budget should be designed to address the needs of the people of Vermont in a way that advances human dignity and equity and in a manner that supports the population-level outcomes set forth in 3 V.S.A. § 2311.
(b) Spending and revenue policies will seek to promote economic well-being among the people of Vermont and foster a vibrant economy. Integral to achieving the purpose of the State budget is continuous evaluation of the use of public funds by systems of outcome measurement based on indicators that measure success in accomplishing the purposes of the State budget.
(c) Spending and revenue policies will reflect the public policy goals established in State law and recognize every person’s need for health, housing, dignified work, education, food, social security, and a healthy environment.
(d) As consistent with State law and in conjunction with the federal government, the budget will reflect support for economic development, public safety, transportation, and other infrastructure needs.
(e) Revenue measures shall also be based on the principles of sustainability and stability. The Administration shall develop budget and revenue proposals as part of a transparent and accountable process with direct and meaningful participation from Vermont residents. (Added 2011, No. 162 (Adj. Sess.), § E.100.1; amended 2015, No. 11, § 32; 2019, No. 131 (Adj. Sess.), § 291.)

Looks like a LOOOOOONG list of criminals. Do we have an arrest warrant signed by the DA yet?
Title 32 needs some revamping. It is Marxist at its core, with the State taking over an individual’s inalienable right to pursue happiness and prosperity. “Equity” = everyone will be equally held down by statute. Sections (d) and (e) seem reasonable. The rest is garbage. Section (b) is incomprehensible nonsense.
They ignore

Article 9. [Citizens’ rights and duties in the State; bearing arms; taxation]
That every member of society hath a right to be protected in the enjoyment of life, liberty, and property, and therefore is bound to contribute the member’s proportion towards the expence of that protection, and yield personal service, when necessary, or an equivalent thereto, but no part of any person’s property can be justly taken, or applied to public uses, without the person’s own consent, or that of the Representative Body, nor can any person who is conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms, be justly compelled thereto, if such person will pay such equivalent; nor are the people bound by any law but such as they have in like manner assented to, for their common good: and previous to any law being made to raise a tax, the purpose for which it is to be raised ought to appear evident to the Legislature to be of more service to community than the money would be if not collected.

Any law repugnant of the constitution is null and void. The constitution is the highest law of the land, therefor the criminal penalties for violating it should be the highest of crimes, as well as the highest of priorities for enforcement measure.
All you boot lickers out there, when is the last time your police saviors have arrested a state actor who violates the highest law of the land? Until all people get punished for breaking the law equally, we will live under lawlessness, and we deserve the extreme consequences that will follow.
The thing a lot of people forget is for a Republican governor to get elected at all in a state that is so entrenched in the far-Left, they have to be the moderate voice of reason. It’s sad that people who aren’t in the political extremes, and extremes with arbitrary sets of mandatory beliefs, are berated by the people they seek to serve. I won’t say he’s perfect, but Scott is CERTAINLY better than the only realistic alternative: an extreme-Left ideologue.
Where are the alternatives this next election? I don’t see any alternative outspoken choices on each political ticket, unless you are just voting party. I see a lot of leftists complaining on Reddit and other places, but don’t see them talking about any alternatives. The anti-clean heat democrats should running vs other democrats.
The people cannot be trusted to select politicians that don’t break the law. This country was setup with laws that make political “extremes” a requirement. Power in the hands of the people is a new and very extreme idea. We need a Judicial system that is willing to enforce the constitution, and all its extremes.
I vote pro gun, and then write in folks for all the other selections because there are literally NO good, or even “lesser of 2 evils” choices.
I suspect, even if we somehow get past all the election rigging and machines and other scams the state does to get who they want in the positions they want them in, we still aren’t going to reverse the costs to working Vermonters. Even if we selected all Republicans, they won’t lower spending and costs. They will just spend on things they think people care about. The costs will never be less, and will always be more.
We need to be prepared for politics to fail us, and take steps to work around the issue. We need businesses to re-structure and pivot to be technically outside of the system and stop feeding the beast. Some of the most successful business we have today come from apps that are designed to work around government red tape. (Think Uber, Air bnb, etc). This will only last a while until the government changes to catch up with it, so it will be a constant battle to move faster than them.
The point, Timothy, is that many of us don’t want anyone ‘serving’ us… as, perhaps, two wolves and a lamb might ‘serve’ a meal.
“I have had but one answer from the beginning. Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played the mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are worm eaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! I am not for tying or fastening them on the tree in any way, except by nature’s plan, and if they will not stay there, let them fall.” – Guess Who
Re: “The people cannot be trusted to select politicians that don’t break the law.”
Then ‘the people’ and the ‘politicians’ are breaking the law. And we get what we get.
“In these Sentiments, Sir, I agree to this Constitution, with all its Faults, if they are such: because I think a General Government necessary for us, and there is no Form of Government but what may be a Blessing to the People if well administred; and I believe farther that this is likely to be well administred for a Course of Years, and can only end in Despotism as other Forms have done before it, when the People shall become so corrupted as to need Despotic Government, being incapable of any other.” – Ben Franklin
Apparently, we’ve arrived at this crossroad.
Chris, RE: “ PS- It’s time to get over COVID. Move on.” No, Covid forced me to quit my job 18 months before being eligible for SS. Covid, more specifically Gov Scott’s Covid “2 weeks to flatten the curve” lockdown policy (the same useless policy that virtually every state executed in lockstep to absolutely NO avail) was DIRECTLY responsible for my mother’s death. She didn’t die of Covid, never had Covid, rather she died from being absolutely cut off from family at an “independent” living facility. I will “get over” Covid when every single perpetrator of the big lie and population reduction plan is tried and punished for their crimes, we can start with Fauci and go from there including the chief imbecile in DC.
Jonathan Johnson: So sorry about your job loss and about your mom, my condolences to you and your family. Remember to stand up and stand strong when they try to hit us with another blow. Keep updated through https://thehighwire.com/
