| The Lebanon Police Department said it has identified an out-of-state resident as the suspect who swiped $1,000 in cookie cash from a Girl Scouts booth at Walmart in West Lebanon on Wednesday. “The Lebanon Police Department is currently in the process of obtaining the appropriate arrest warrants,” LPD said in a statement posted to social media. “Law Enforcement Officials are coordinating with the appropriate out-of-state authorities to ensure the matter is addressed promptly and safely.” The suspect, a white male wearing a black mask, walked up to the booth, leaned over the table asking about cookies, and then ran off with the cashbox. Authorities tracked him to the rear parking lot at the New Hampshire State Liquor Store. Surveillance footage showed him getting into a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. Police recovered the cashbox, but there was no money inside. The booth was staffed by a Concord troop leader and her daughter, a 12th grader, at the time of the theft. Katherine Galdieri said she was glad it didn’t happen to the Girl Scout troop taking over the booth for them, as they were young Daisy Girl Scouts doing their first booth. LPD did not identify the state where the suspect resides, but Vermont is a non-New Hampshire state in the vicinity of the Walmart in West Lebanon. |
